Extremely Disappointed with My Wedding Dress Experience at Rhylan Lang
I never leave negative reviews, but my experience with Rhylan Lang deserves to be shared so other brides don't go through the same stress I did.
I ordered my wedding dress in November 2024, and when it arrived in February, it was two sizes too big. At the time, I had no idea the dress was the wrong size -- no one at Rhylan Lang said anything to me when I came in to pick it up and try it on. It wasn't until I took it to an actual tailor months later that I was honestly told the dress was far too big for me. When I brought this to Rhylan Lang's attention, they claimed that I should have known how a wedding dress was supposed to fit and feel -- even though I had never tried on a wedding dress before. Later, even the owner admitted that the manager at the time had been rushing my consultant during my appointment, which likely caused the wrong size to be ordered.
When I took my dress to a professional tailor in June (with my October wedding quickly approaching), I was told it was way too big and would require extensive, expensive alterations. The tailor even said the dress wasn't remotely close to my measurements. I immediately contacted Rhylan Lang, and while the owner, Tracey, remeasured me and agreed I was closer to a size 12--not the size 14 that was ordered--she reordered the dress in a rush.
The replacement dress didn't arrive until mid-September, just a month before my wedding. I had to scramble for alterations, rearrange my work schedule, and take PTO I had planned for my honeymoon just to make fittings work. The alterations quote I received from Livi's came out to $1,400, which was more than half the cost of my dress, and Rhylan Lang only covered a $50 rush fee toward that amount even though the sizing mistake was completely on their end.
Since the amount at Livi's didn't sit well with me, I asked Rhylan Lang if there was another alterations place they could recommend. They suggested a woman named Caitlyn, who does dresses on her own time. Tracey took my dress from Livi's and brought it to Caitlyn instead. Unfortunately, Caitlyn seemed rushed and overwhelmed, and my dress still wasn't ready until two days before my wedding--she was literally still sewing it when I came for my final fitting. I was left feeling frustrated, anxious, and not wanting to pay the new alteration amount I had been quoted due to the stress and inconvenience this entire situation caused.
Rhylan Lang's handling of this situation was unprofessional and dismissive. Instead of taking ownership, they blamed me for "losing weight" (which was untrue) and offered minimal help to make things right. They did not offer any compensation toward the cost of my dress or the alterations I was forced to pursue because of their mistake.
Coming from a place that is valued so highly on reviews, I strongly suggest other brides look elsewhere unless you want to feel manipulated or risk having this same situation happen to you. Rhylan Lang's focus seems to be on making a sale rather than ensuring their brides are cared for and confident leading up to their big day.
My experience was filled with unnecessary stress, financial burden, and disappointment--all because of their error. I would not recommend Rhylan Lang to any future bride. Your wedding dress experience should be joyful and memorable--not frustrating, expensive, and anxiety-filled. read more
