Bedroom, you can see the beach from bed!

Kyle made our weekend and gave us such a beautiful room. He went over and beyond and is truly appreciated. Oscar, we appreciate all your help unloading our bags and grocery's helping me when I forgot my key and just being so kind to us. Housekeep was equally wonderful and keeps the rooms and hotel so clean. The staff is extremely kind. This is our new getaway. We highly recommend you stay here you will not be disappointed. I'll make sure to state this review only speaks to our experience at Su Casa and won't include the sad state Venice Beach is in, along with a lot of LA's surrounding areas right now--but as a local, I'll just say this was such a pleasant and amazing getaway! We celebrated my daughter's birthday and, from booking the room to check-in and throughout the stay, Kyle at Su Casa was incredible. I never expected such friendly and helpful assistance when we were booking a local two days away from home after the grueling pandemic. I think the thing to point out is that this hotel is steps away from the sand and beach. Are you also steps away from all of the homeless living on the beach, and also what seemed to be a men's recovery home next door? Honestly, yes--but welcome to LA! And as locals, it's more about how safe I felt there and never once felt regret in booking such a quaint and lovely hotel room at a great price. We wanted Venice Beach and not Santa Monica, so I think we picked the absolute best place to stay The room was lovely and clean. Parking nearby was also convenient and affordable, again, for LA. Having a kitchen, stocked with everything we needed, including a full sink, microwave and stovetop, was awesome--rare. But it truly was the personable help Kyle offered, I have to say, that made this feel more like a small town casa, rather than just a hotel. Thanks so much!

Marijuana smoke. Do not book it if you have kids. On Thursday, December 30th, 2021, we checked in to Su Casa at Venice Beach around 7pm (see Figure 3), having reserved a two-night stay in Room #11, a second-story room with a beach view, via Expedia on 12/20 (see Figure 2). The entire hotel had been advertised as "smoke-free" (see Figure 1), which was very important to us since we were traveling with an infant and another young child. With the help of the hotel staff, we had begun carrying our luggage up the stairs to the room when we noticed the smell of what seemed to be stale marijuana smoke. It was quite strong on the second floor, and so strong in the room itself that it made us uncomfortable. We stayed in the room for a few minutes, after which our throats and eyes were beginning to hurt. We then went downstairs to the desk to discuss the smell with the hotel staff, spending at least fifteen minutes there before returning to the room to see if we were willing to stay. The smell of smoke was as strong as ever the second time we visited the room, and we do not believe it would have dissipated before all of us were feeling miserable. We do not know whether the previous occupant had smoked in the room, whether it was coming from elsewhere in the building through the ventilation system, or whether (as the staff claimed) the smoke originated from the outside the hotel, but it was in any case not a "smoke-free" room at that time, and not a place we could stay with our kids. As it was getting late and the hotel staff seemed unwilling to issue a refund, we chose to end our vacation early rather than check into a different hotel and pay for another room, canceling our reservation through Expedia (see Figure 4) and driving home the same night. It was a five-hour trip back to San Jose.

What AMAZING place to stay at Venice Beach! This location is perfect ...just at the start of the boardwalk and within a short scooter or bike ride to the Santa Monica pier. We checked in later than expected due to a late flight and were so thankful the owner waited for us, helped with our luggage and ensured we were settled before closing up thanks Kyle!! Our room was perfect, super comfortable bed, a nice kitchen space allowing for cooking and eating, a living room area PERFECT to sit with a morning mimosa and watch the waves come in, a large bathroom with plenty of hot water and doors to close off areas for privacy. There is a restaurant directly below that makes grabbing a quick meal a super convenience. The hustle and bustle of the boardwalk wasnt much of a bother at all and we came for the experience to be on the boardwalk. The staff during our stay were just all so great. Brian always made sure we had everything we needed daily and helped with directions to get around. When we were leaving I said I had wished our room had a balcony as I was chatting with yet another great associate and turns out he says oh we have those! He showed me one of the balcony rooms and WOW .... I'm planning when I can get back to stay again :)... thanks David!!! Location - Service - Cleanliness - Cost - Views ....5 stars ya'll

    Trash of precious guest, enjoy

This review is for the house that is right next to a building with rooms. Friends of mine booked rooms and they looked very nice. Piece of . Rooms are dirty. Trash can had previous guest's old fucking socks and other trash in it. Rooms are dirty, heater is not working, only a/c in the winter, and it's freaking cold right now in Cali. We went outside on the ocean front walk, homeless people everywhere! They don't make fuss, just yell out loud once in while. I'm used to it, but it definitely not worth $500 for a beachfront room for 2 days. The restaurant though was only a mile away and the food was amazing! So I am upping my review too a 2 star as you can definitely get a good food nearby.

Me and a friend booked here to spend a long weekend in LA. The price seemed reasonable and the location is right on Venice Beach. They were very kind when we arrived and offered us a complimentary upgrade for the room, changing from the studio to a one bedroom, which was ideal as we ended up being in 3 person. The apartment was clean, great view on the beach. Downstair they have a small cafe which has a patio right on Venice beach, serving great brunch at a very moderate price. We loved our staying here except for one thing. Right in front of the hotel there are many homelesses, who leave trash behind and at night is not the best area to hang if you are alone. We would always go out at night in different areas so that was not a problem for us. I would definitely come back.

Beach view just off the beach in front of the hotel

I came down to LA to enjoy the beach from Redlands for a few days and found out about this place through some friends that live in the area. Finding the hotel was a bit of a challenge and the big surprise was where the hotel was tucked away. It was located directly off the beach and the room I was in had a huge balcony with a view of the beach. The hosts Kyle and Dave were great and accommodating and were more than willing to take the time to sit down and talk about the area and make us feel at home. My uneasiness getting out of the traffic went away after talking with them and settling into the room. I'll provide some pictures of the rooms but I was surprised how the hotel kept some of the more vintage architectural design but still kept a more modern feel. The room had a stove and appliances, plates, bowls, utensils, and cooking things, which allows you to do pretty much what you normally can if you wanted to pick up groceries to save money versus eating out. You're right off of Venice beach at the hotel and only a couple miles of walking from the Venice pier and fairly close to Santa Monica pier also. The beach is huge...so if you want to head out of the hotel and walk out on the beach to see an awesome sunset, while hearing the waves crash on the beach, make sure to leave a bit earlier because it's a deep beach. I will be coming back for sure and felt it was well worth it. I hope others can find this gem in the rough like I have.

My private little courtyard outside my cottage.

Su Casa is an amazing find. I stayed in one of the 2 bedroom cottages and the experience outshined many of my stays in the Santa Monica/Venice. If you are looking for the true Venice Beach experience stay here. Clean, safe and the staff is so helpful and cheerful. I cannot wait to come back.

I cannot say enough good things.. truly a hidden gem. Sure you have to pay for parking off site but who cares? I mean, it is Cali. Anyways we got the queen sweet as a complementary upgrade and wow!! It is stunning and so clean and the VIEW!! It's everything we didn't know we needed. Full functioning kitchen with all dishes we need. Front desk service was so wonderful as well, thank you KYLE!! (Photos do no justice)

This place is a little hard to find when you're driving here because you go through this back street and there's no sign from the back of the hotel. Also, you have to park in another parking lot down the street as this hotel is right on the beach so there's no parking there. The walk isn't bad though and you get to enjoy Venice Beach. Also, this hotel is on top of a cafe, which makes it even harder to find. I will say, Venice beach was a little on ghetto side for me, but inside this hotel, was very nice. The people working there for great, always willing to help, there's complimentary breakfast, free wifi, and the room was a suite, with a living room, kitchen, bedroom. Can't beat the view of the beach right out your window! There's a drug recovery center around the corner from here, but we had no problems, and like I said, Venice Beach is a little ghetto. Stilled enjoyed my time here! P.S. I don't think their walls are very soundproof.

We are back for our second stay at Su Casa!! We love this place!! It is as close to the beach as you can get, hotel wise!! There's an amazing restaurant right on the beach, at this hotel!! You get a breath taking view of the beach, sunrise, sunset!! The guys that work here are great! David, Kyle, Griffin and Oscar!! So great to go someplace that makes you feel like family and these guys do!! Another amazing stay!! So glad we don't leave until tomorrow!!

Ashley checked us in and she was very interested in making this a great experience. We were served a non-alcoholic beverage, which is an elixir of ginger and honey Antonio took our bags up to the room and it's stunning!! I wanted to upgrade the room because I felt like having an ocean view so we looked at two other rooms and they picked this view. It's expensive but sooooo worth it! This is the first Regent property since 1992 when they sold the Beverly Wilshire to the Four Seasons. Welcome back, Regent! They did not miss a single detail! They even have Dyson hairdryers in the room as well as Nespresso machines. I'm super excited about having my own personal bidet! I know where I'm hanging out tonight lol just kidding, I'm going to the fitness center now and will include photos. I'm so stoked about this hotel! Burlington is definitely the most awesome person I have met at this exclusive Regent property and he deserves a special shout out

Regent Santa Monica -- A Fresh, Luxurious Surprise on the California Coast…read more I stayed at the Regent Santa Monica for the Fora Asia Intensive, and I'm so glad I chose this property. What an unexpected and refreshing luxury experience. Formerly a Loews, the hotel underwent an extensive year-and-a-half transformation--reducing the room count by half and expanding every space so that nearly all accommodations now feel like true suites. The moment you enter, the hotel feels bright, elegant, and grand. A towering, statuesque Christmas tree greeted me during check-in, adding warmth and festive charm. The service shined from the start: I was welcomed at the car, my bags were handled immediately, and I was personally escorted to the front desk. While checking in, I enjoyed a spiced apple cider welcome drink before a manager walked me--and my luggage--to my room. And the rooms... absolutely stunning. Thoughtfully designed with a serene wave wall backdrop, complimentary sparkling waters and sodas, a Nespresso, and one of the most comfortable beds I've stayed in. The bathroom is a dream--complete with a Dyson hair dryer, clothing steamer, soaking tub, and bath salts I fully indulged in between meetings. These are the kinds of touches that elevate a stay from "nice" to "memorable." The property is perfectly positioned across the street from the beach with postcard views of the Santa Monica Pier, Ferris wheel, and coastline. The pool and hot tub sit in the heart of the hotel with cabanas and ocean breezes--a relaxing hideaway that still feels connected to the energy of the beach. Dining is impressive as well, with concepts by Michael Mina and Ayesha Curry, plus a gorgeous Guerlain Spa that adds a true luxury-wellness element to the stay. The location is unbeatable: steps to restaurants, shopping, the beach, and only about 20 minutes from LAX. Every staff member I encountered was warm, polished, and genuinely helpful. Their consistency made the stay feel effortless. Regent Santa Monica is a standout luxury option in Los Angeles--modern, welcoming, beautifully designed, and confidently a place I would send my family and friends. Highly recommend for business trips, beach getaways, wellness weekends, or a stylish home base for exploring LA.

My husband, toddler, and 5 months old stayed here for 3 nights on Memorial Day weekend…read more We had a great time from the moment we walked in: - the hotel is beautiful and location is everything - the staff is very nice, tries to call you by name to make you feel special, and everything screams quiet luxury - the room was very nice, well decorated and comfortable. The tub is the highlight. One comment would be that when we checked in with Anthony, who was so sweet to our toddler, also kept telling us we were getting upgraded to a very nice room. We got all excited. It was a normal room. The "very nice upgrade" just meant that we were on floor 5. I barely call that an upgrade but ok. - we asked for a crib, and we go a nice crib with a cute little baby soap kit from noodle and boo- very nice touch. And baby robes for the kids- my toddler loved it. My toddler was on a rollaway bed and they were super accommodating about it- great experience on that front. - balconies are tiny and I never saw anyone out when I sat out - pool staff was super nice. It was a chilly weekend and the pool could have been warmer (I couldn't get in, but I really don't like cold water). - the beach chairs are also very nice and we were surprised to find them available - they were extremely pleasant about our friends visiting us every day! - the lobby waiter during the day was almost inexistant. We had to go to the bar to ask for drinks. The woman at night was great. Now for the food...: - coast has a great breakfast, the lemon ricotta pancakes are excellent (though stupid expensive for pancakes) - pico is a good spot for shrimp cocktail and calamari. Hasn't seen shrimps that big in a long time. - overall the food was good everywhere but way overpriced.... The kids menu are ridiculous... hard to justify spending $28 on kids pancakes. That being said, the portions were the same as adult portions... maybe make the portions smaller, and price more accessible? Overall we had a great stay, and while on the expensive side, we agreed we would come back. Nicely done!

I would like to leave a review regarding an experience I had at your restaurant "Coast" on 5/25…read more My mother reserved a table for three at 8:15 PM to celebrate my birthday. Not only was it my birthday, but it was also the first time in over 10 years that I was reunited with my aunt visiting from Brazil, whom I had not seen in a very long time. This dinner was meant to be a special and joyful occasion for our family. The evening started beautifully. Our server, Lex, provided excellent service throughout the dinner. He was attentive, patient, caring, and professional. The food was also excellent, and initially we were truly enjoying our experience. However, around approximately 9:30 PM, the music in the restaurant was suddenly turned off while we were still eating our main course. At that point, we realized we were the last table remaining in the restaurant. Shortly after, we began hearing staff loudly speaking, handling dishes noisily, and clearly beginning their closing procedures around us. I politely mentioned to our server that it felt uncomfortable to have the music turned off while we were still dining. Lex immediately apologized and even kindly offered to turn the music back on. I told him it was alright and that we would simply finish quickly and leave. Despite that, he offered to bring over the manager. I honestly had no intention of escalating the situation, but the manager, Sofia, came to the table. I calmly explained that we felt rushed and uncomfortable due to the complete absence of ambiance, the loud closing noises, and the overall feeling that the restaurant wanted us out before we had even finished our meal. Unfortunately, Sofia's response was deeply disappointing. Rather than apologizing or acknowledging our experience, she stated: "Turning off the music is part of my closing list. I need to send my staff home, they cannot stay." Her tone and attitude came across as dismissive and argumentative rather than empathetic or service-oriented. The conversation became uncomfortable enough that I had to stop it myself. What makes this even more upsetting is that my mother had specifically arranged for a birthday dessert to be brought to the table at the end of dinner. Instead, the desserts were simply packed into boxes to take home, completely removing the celebratory moment she had hoped to create for me. Seeing my mother with tears in her eyes over what was supposed to be a happy family celebration was honestly heartbreaking. I truly do not understand how a restaurant located within a five-star hotel can make guests feel like an inconvenience rather than a priority. Hospitality should never end before the guests leave the table. While I understand restaurants have closing procedures and staff schedules, there is a respectful and gracious way to handle those situations without making paying guests feel rushed out of the establishment. I have personally worked in the hospitality industry for nearly 20 years, so I fully understand operational realities. This is not about staff wanting to go home, that is understandable. This is about the way the situation was handled and the complete lack of hospitality and empathy demonstrated by management. I am extremely disappointed by the way Sofia treated us, and I cannot simply overlook this experience, especially because of how much it affected my mother during what should have been a meaningful evening for our family. You are more than welcome to contact me privately should you wish to discuss this situation further. I am not someone who typically complains, but this experience genuinely left a lasting negative impression.

No warning, no attempt to address it politely, just a flat-out refusal. Completely over the top and unprofessional. What made it worse? They then turned around and selectively served ONE person from our group, which made zero sense given they had just "refused service" to all of us. To add insult to injury, they ended up charging her for multiple items she never even received. So let me get this straight, you refuse service over something minor and then proceed to overcharge a guest? That's not just bad service, that's ridiculous. Between the inconsistency, the attitude, and the billing issues, this place clearly has no idea how to treat customers. Plenty of better spots out there, save yourself the frustration and go anywhere else.

Great spacious room, with Amazing decor, great books, comfy beds and cold ax. What else could you ask for ? Tiramisu when you arrive? Yup, they did that too. Nestor and Josh are top notch professionals. They are doing a great job taking care of clients here. Everything was top notch. Very attentive and accommodating. Not sure how this place gets bad reviews. We really enjoyed our stay and will come back soon! Great property! 5 star experience!

The Valet greets you upon arrive but I noticed a few things that were troublesome. If you cannot walk stairs this property my not be right for you. The lobby is on the second floor accessible by stairs. Some rooms seem to only be reachable by stairs and they only have two rooms with two beds unless you want a king bed and a pullout couch. Most all the rooms have some type of balcony and some have a rope swing to sit on eventhough it is more decorative than functional. The lobby area is warm and welcoming and the pool area is simply fabulous. They make it known that the pool water is always above 82 degrees. I loved that they provided complimentary coffee by the pool in the morning and then throughout the day they have juices and cold water. On the 3rd floor there is a great sitting area with wonderful views of the coastline and beach. The staff was helpful in finding us the right room and making sure that all of our amenities were perfect. We only stayed for two nights but I would definitely return again.

We really enjoyed our Spring Break stay at this wonderful hotel. Firstly, the staff was really…read morehelpful. The allowed us to check in about 2 hours early. The housekeeping staff was fantastic too. The gentleman who was responsible for our room always asked if we needed anything and if he could provide any assistance in making our stay even better. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. The great thing about the suite setup is that the living room with a pull out couch is separated by a door to the bedroom; you could watch TV in one room and not bother the people in the other room. The TVs in each room were oversized and there was a decent sized mini fridge (Target and Trader Joes are just down the street - hello wine and beer!) The walls were thick, as was the main door and hotel noise and street noise was minimal. They have a pool on the 3rd floor that doubles as the covered drop off/entrance area and it was very nice. The breakfast buffet was solid (include made to order eggs), but it was too expensive (approx. $33 per person-tip included.) The best part about our stay were the pillows. Down pillows! The most comfortable pillows I have ever slept on! The beds were solid too. What else? You're a couple of blocks from the Santa Monica Pier and Beach. You're within an 8 minute walk to McDonald's for breakfast (cheaper than the hotel buffet!) and your about a 10 minute walk to the 3rd St Promenade. Our daughter absolutely loved her first trip to the beach and this Hilton property and its staff had a lot to do with that! *Tip 1* Head to Trader Joes to stock up on booze for your room fridge. *Tip 2* They don't have a microwave on property to reheat leftovers or snacks. Plan accordingly.
