This restaurant refused to serve a 14 year old girl who came to the restaurant to sit in the same booth with her grandparents because they did not arrive at the same time. We used to come to Sinclair just to go to Su Casa. Haven't been in awhile, it was clean, but that's about all. Liked the old atmosphere better. We had to wait for a table for 4 for 30 minutes, even though there were 2 tables for 6 empty. Food took awhile to arrive. It was ok. Not worth the wait though. Everything used to be better. This place is small. But if you poke your head in and all seats are filled, just wait in the heated area just outside the door. Your wait is never long because they make the food so quickly. They are in the process of opening the new spacious larger facility they have been building! You will see from my other reviews I travel to California so I have really gotten to try some awesome mexican food. Although Su Casa "is" a "mexican food" place you will notice just like every one through the rocky mountain region it has a very New Mexico twist. Something which is a staple of mexican food restaurants in this region is green chili. Do not let the word combination scare you, this is a mild sauce that is used (upon request) by cuisine aficionados to smother anything mexican. The result of the blended roasted and peeled chiles and pork is mind blowing. If you are afraid, ask for a cup on the side and put just a little on to try it. You will not be disappointed! I saw another review where someone mentioned old oil and flautas and tacquitos. Ordering that kind of fare at a place like this is like ordering a hamburger at a wolfgang puck steakhouse. My personal recommendation is the steak and mushroom burrito "dinner" smothered in green with a side of sour cream. Very filling, this for lunch or dinner will get you all the way to Salt Lake, North Platte, or way past Denver for your next meal. read more

Is this really a five-star place? No. Some guy from San Francisco complained that the veggies were canned and the oil was old. Well, I can tell you that in Rawlins, I'm glad to have vegetables at all in a desert town and I'm glad that the only thing that's old is some frying oil that will kill anything that comes into contact with it anyway. Sooooo...there you go. The food is the best in town...by far. By far. And it's cheap. And the wait staff is really sweet. It's a tight fit in that location, but it appears that they are opening a new restaurant soon next door. Like I said, overall---this is the best place to eat in town. And the price is right to boot. I love the chicken flauta smothered in green chile. I also love the burritos. My friend prefers to go on Tuesdays for Pork Tuesdays. It was just right and it was not overpowering. my buddy had the deep fried beef and bean burrito smothered in green chili and it set us both right up to get us over our hangover from a concert in salt lake City. this is the perfect halfway point between Denver and salt lake City on i-80. 10 times out of 10 I will go there again if I am making that road trip. by the way the service is just so phenomenal and that's what makes this a charming family place. read more

I wanted so badly to be able to give a great review for a small business, but unfortunately I can't come up with anything good to say. This is a very small restaurant, only about 8 tables. We had to wait 15 minutes although there was an empty table. First disappointment was no margueritas. We should have left, but thought the food must be great then. Not true. I ordered the Bandido, which was an open faced enchilada smothered in green sauce. The green sauce is not green and it has no green chile or tomatillo flavor at all. It was the most unappetizing plate and unfortunately it didn't taste very good either. It was a gut bomb and I couldn't finish it. Delicious food in a very humble setting, Being from North Carolina, all our Mexican restaurants are authentic Mexican run restaurants which offer a slightly different style than Su Casa (more shredded beef, white cheeses, etc.). We finished our Wyoming statewide tour with a stop here as we were crashing in nearby Rawlins. Food is VERY good. The food is Southwestern style and will arrive quickly and hot. There are only about 10 tables so expect to wait at busy times, but only for a few minutes. You might even be asked to share one end of a big table with a different couple :) Rice and beans were tasty. Portions are adequate, but go for a combination if you are hungry. The enchiladas with green chili sauce were very tasty, and the sauce is perfectly spicy. Meals are about $7.50-$11 for a big combination. Free bowl of chips and salsa when you are seated. They may need to expand again if they keep serving the tasty meals we had. read more

We shared a large round table with a person that lived in Wyoming. We had a pleasant visit and learned that he always stops at Su Casa on his travels across the state. I've eaten at Su casa for years. It never disappoints! It is located on the main street in Sinclair and is a great lunch stop if you travel I -80. Do not be afraid to wait for a table, they serve people very promptly and it's well worth the wait. Plus, it is always clean and service is excellent. I've actually waited in a line before they opened to eat lunch. Okay the food...... the enchilada sauce is so excellent! I love it so much I ask for a side of it if just to put on my rice and beans. I love the chicken avocado tacos, the green chili, the soappapillas, the fajitas ...everything! Hey and if you want a great hamburger they do have that on the menu for the gringos in your group. Called ahead to see if we would have to wait to be seated - as seating is limited - and was told there were a few people waiting. Hopped in car and 15 minutes later we were at the restaurant. Restaurant lights on outside. Time? 7:02. Went in to be seated and we were told they were closed. What? The only other time we were here (it was after 7:00 that we arrived and no problem.) We were seated with other customers (limited seating) and heard the waitress tell the other party that their hours were "when there were no more customers." Guess that's not true. Posted Close time is 7:00. My question is... When I called why did they not say ..."We close in 15 minutes?" Too bad. Won't try to go here again because after a 12 hour work day ..it is not worth trying to guess when they will be open or closed. Recommend that if you go ... We stopped after driving down from Yellowstone and not wanting your typical chain fare fast food- we stopped based on another review. The menu is filled with great traditional Mexican food and the service is fantastic.
