I loved this place! It doesn't look like much from the outside but the service is great. I have a busy schedule so any place that offers walk ins is a bonus. I came in for a walk in and not even ten minutes later was in a manicure seat. The man who did my manicure was very fast and welcomed customers that came in after me by name and asked them how their day was. We had some casual conversation. They had a HUGE selection of nail polish to choose from. I chose to get a glitter blue polish on my nails and toes(no artificial nails) The manicure was the average manicure you could get anywhere but the pedicure was truly spectacular. I chose the most expensive pedicure you could get which included a foot mask among many many other goodies. I kept waiting for the pedicurist to tell me I was done but surprisingly and pleasantly the services kept coming one after another. My feet have never felt softer and the color was great on my toes too. You do not have to worry about lukewarm towels or water as mine were almost too hot for me and I am notorious for taking burning hot showers. The seats were comfy and my feet went from feeling like I was walking on burning coals(The whole reason I decided to get the pedicure was because I was in pain hobbling around campus) to feeling like brand new. Finally the price was also very good. Online the pedicure that I chose is advertised as $55 but I recieved a first time customer discount, student discount, and afterwards my total for both the pedicure and manicure was only $54 before tip. I will definitely be going back to this place for my nail needs. The only real negative I have is that I tried to turn my massage chair off twice and the girl giving me a pedicure turned it back on both times but it wasn't enough of a bother for me to feel the need to say something or for it to dampen my experience read more

If I could I would rate 0. They hacked my cuticles which were bleeding and continued to shave. The chemicals stung and I feel like this is a health hazard. Additionally, I got my nails done 4 days ago and they are already starting to come off. Also, when I came in they said they would call me when they were ready for me and they never did. I still showed up in the time they said they would be ready and I still had to wait. Also, a customer came in wanting a pedicure they said they would not have time for her but took another customer who wanted a full set soon after. The person doing our nails told us we didn't needed to have our nails done and he would just do the pedicure part. Thought I was going to be interviewed by the police...man was speaking a different language and very upset with one of the nail artists as they were fighting quite badly, I was pretty uncomfortable and did not feel safe. The lady that did my nails did not ask if I wanted them cut down on the shape so got what she gave me. They are uneven and bumps, paint on my skin and acrylic chunked up underneath. When I first moved to the area a year ago this was my go to! When my shellac would chip after two days I'd go back and argue with Michael and he'd then make it right. The last two times I have went in however I have been placed with a younger lady that doesn't make any kind of small talk, and I have been devastated to waste the money. The first time I had her she did my shellac on my finger nails and I vouched to only go here for my feet for now on. Well the last time I went in for my feet I got her and I thought you couldn't do a pedicure wrong...I was wrong!! I told her I had shellac polish already on them so she could let them sit with remover. Instead she went and got a dremal and sanded it off.. Or should I say attempted to..I didn't even think to look at them until she was done with the new polish. She said to another worker they were out of the hot towels so she went over to the sink and returned placing a cold towel on my legs.. at this point I'm guessing it was a prior used one taken from the dirty bin. By the end of it I looked down and saw that she never removed my shellac and only used the dremal on the tip of the nail as I had a French manicure and that's where the actual color was. You could easily see the chunks of shellac that she didn't remove below the new polish and I was charged $5 extra for removal. I told one of the males who cashed me out that I really was not pleased and that it was disappointing that I can't even go there for a pedicure now. He looked at them and agreed and asked me to come back on Monday so he could fix it but I don't have the time. I can say now I won't be back again and I'll be looking for yet another salon. I had brought them all of my friends business when they would come to town too. I only gave a 2 star rating because Ivy, Michael, and the other gentleman do great work but the others I wouldn't recommend. They do toss you around between them to which I didn't like. This salon from the beginning looks nice. Vicky did my nails. Very sweet lady, who for the first time in any nail salon I've been to, asked what my name was. from there though, she rushed through my nails and you could tell she was rushing to get done. Everything at the end turned out fine. She said if my nails chipped, that I could come right in and they would replace for free. I hoped nothing would happen, because my nails should be good for the next 2 weeks or more if I got shellac. A couple days after the manicure, the polish was already peeling. So I went in like she said. Instead of soaking my nails in acetone to remove the shellac, she ripped the polish off (if you are able to rip the polish off, then it is not good shellac). She fixed about 5 nails. Already a couple days later, my nails were peeling again!! The same ones she had just fixed. Moral of the story... This wouldn't be the first place I would go to. Maybe it was my nail technician who rushed through the nails, or maybe the salon just isn't good in general. I would give a couple stars for how friendly Vicky was, but nothing else. read more

BEWARE!!! Owners wife is horrible. I have been following one of the nail techs for years and this was her new salon. I went in to purchase a gift certificate and was dealing with owners wife, she lost it on me. Screaming, knocking things over and kicked me out. It appeared she was having a hard time understanding me and filling out gift certificate, and it all came out of nowhere. She has done this several times per my nail tech (cops called, and arrested) who has since moved because of these incidents. I do not recommend. read more

We didn't have an appointment but we did call ahead to see if they were available for 2 to come in within the 10 minutes and they said yes. When we got there they only sat one of us. It eventually got very busy and my lady started going very very fast. I wante a gel manicure and it only 20 minutes and just felt very uncomfortable. Worst experience ever! A family friend took me here for a mani/pedi the day before getting married. She was too forceful with removing a callous on my heel and cut it open so deep i had a limp throught mu wedding! For the mani o had to repeat my request of a short length full set of gels several different ways before she (i thought) understood what i wanted and i ended up with shalac natural nails instead. First timer. After my experience here with nail technician, Vicky, I have found my go-to nail salon after hunting for 5 years! I got a deluxe pedicure with a light blue shimmer OPI nail polish. The deluxe includes an exfoliating scrub, a massage with lotion, hot stones, and other fun and relaxing treats. A water service is included. chairs have massage mechanisms which surprisingly were not painful as most places do have them but I've experienced only pain for those, but here it was on point. I nearly fell asleep from how relaxed I was. I noticed reviews complaining about language barrier, but I didn't experience that at all. They speak English just fine and some of their staff do speak English fluently. I enjoyed my experience here very much and will most definitely come back read more

I got a full set of acrylic nails and a pedicure. I would give a 2 star review for the acrylics and 4 for the pedicure. I was quoted $28 for each, however there was a $5 charge for shaping my nails which I was not informed of until I paid. I wouldn't have cared if I had been informed beforehand. My acrylics are honestly very amateur and I could do them better myself. None of the tools were sanitized before or after my nails were done which was gross. I wanted a French fade with almond shaped nails. The technician (who never introduced himself) said he couldn't do what I wanted and only used light pink clear acrylic and didn't attempt to do a French fade or ask if I wanted polish. He didn't ask how long or short I wanted my nails and they absolutely too short for my liking and one hand is shorter than the other. Also he shaped my nails into stiletto nails and when I said I wanted almond and tried to explain this he didn't really understand. So I ended up with one hand being okay and the other not and he didn't go close enough to the cuticle. He also spent an extra 20 plus minutes trying to reshape them and they still sucked. The amount of acrylic on each nail was also not even at all. It's been 2 days and my nails already look grown out. If you want very very basic acrylics and don't mind the lack of sanitization I would say go here. I wish I had them redone. The pedicure was great. I believe she said her name was Vicky, and she was great. The pedicure was relaxing, my polish looks great, and my feet are soft. Well worth the $28 plus tip. read more

I've been going to Stylish Nails for about a year and they do a decent job at doing nails at a affordable price, but their customer service could use a little work. I went there Friday afternoon for a fill and one of the workers told me to pick a color, but they didn't tell me that their machine was down and that they weren't accepting cards but only cash! Luckily a customer let me know what was going on before I sat in a chair. As a college student, I don't carry cash with me all the time, and I don't have family in Lansing for backup so hopefully In the future Stylish Nails will improve their customer service. read more

I have been here once before & I had a bad experience but, I decided to give them a second chance on Monday when I went with my friend & i was SO disappointed. First of all when we walked in they were rude & they hardly said hello, but I kinda of let that go. But then when we were in the process I'd getting a manipedi the workers who were doing our nails didn't say 2 words to us. I don't expect them to be overly friendly but a "hi" or "how are you" would've sufficed. When it came to our nails they were so bad, i felt like they rushed through the process & it was slow so there was no reason to. I came home & noticed there was still white paint on my skin around my toenails so I had to fix it myself. I also got gel on my fingers & it hasn't even been 2 days & it's already chipping (I've never had gel chip so quickly before). I was disappointed with my experience. My partner called ahead to make sure they had time to take me at 2PM. However, when I arrived, they let me know that they were short a technician and I would have to wait. I suppose that could be our fault for not making a firm appointment. However, when I was able to sit for my pedicure, the job was mediocre. They weren't paying attention to the water temperature, which was too hot. The woman who worked on my nails did not clip them--first time that has ever happened to me. The paint was not applied carefully, so I had gaps between the nailbed and the color and it's already chipping badly less than two weeks in. I don't often get pedicures and just wanted to treat myself since I just had a baby. I wouldn't go back here. read more

My sister and I took our mom here for a Mother's Day gift and my husband wanted to treat me here for my Mother's Day gift. Well I regret picking this salon. We just wanted mani/pedi. First, The employees started fighting in front of us almost immediately after we got there. Ivy called another employee an asshole! It was hard to understand them but it sounded like she was mad he bought water bottles. There was a lot of tension in the salon, it was awkward, not to mention extremely unprofessional. Then after our pedis one of the guys working on my sister left her to go work on someone else. Meanwhile my mom and I had someone start on our manis. My mom had a really nice guy, I wish I asked for his name! I had Ivy though and I made sure I got her name because she was a straight up bitch. While she was filing one of my nails, I had a free hand so I was reading a text from my husband about our son (kind of important) and she yelled at me: "PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN, I don't like that!" and I said "it's my husband, I have to take this" and she yelled again "then put it down and text!" It was extremely rude and uncalled for. Ivy did a horrible job on my mani, she got nail polish all over my finger and I asked her to remove it and she wouldn't. So I started picking it off and she said "fine let me help you!" When my mom and I were done, the nice guy who did my moms nails did my sisters mani since she was still sitting there waiting after being left so rudely. (We even made appointments). Then when we were cashing out mine and my sisters mani/pedi was $51 and my moms was $65 because she got French tip. I think that is extremely expensive! We didn't even get acrylic! It was gel polish for the mani, but still that seems really high! I won't be going back here again and def won't be asking for Ivy! Overall my moms mother day experience wasn't what I was hoping for-for her. I wanted her to have a nice relaxing day at the nail salon, which clearly didn't happen. read more
