I did my research, and thought that Jessica's pricing was very reasonable, and that her work resembled what I was looking for. With less than a week heads up, she was able to coordinate a time for my hair and makeup, and was so accommodating! I was very happy with the results after she was complete, but the real test came for the actual engagement shoot where we were on the beach getting splashed with ocean water, and battling wind. I have VERY fine blonde hair, and every piece stayed in place (and it was down in loose curls!), and my makeup look like it had just been put on despite hours in humid/wet conditions --- I was floored! Obviously with such a great experience, I booked her and her team for our wedding date once we settled on a venue. The results on our wedding day were nothing short of what I expected. She guided me through the process of how to do multiple (1 bride, 5 bridesmaids, 2 moms, and a groom's service) people's hair/makeup within tight timeframe, and even was able to take on an extra person for hair, and a groomsmen for a touchup last minute! My five bridesmaids are seasoned bridesmaids, in weddings spanning from Napa, to Palm Springs, to Italy and beyond and they all unanimously agreed that was HANDS DOWN the best hair/makeup experience they have ever had. The airbrush make up worked in humid Maui conditions all day, and with a variety of hair lengths/texture everyone was pleased with the results. I would recommend Jessica & her team to anyone looking for a seamless/stress free and beautiful hair/makeup experience on Maui for Weddings or any special events!

It speaks to her expertise that she could put on my eyelashes all while the hotel staff climbed ladders to fix the A/C, room service fluffed the pillows and bedding, dropped off a celebratory bottle and chocolates. She kept telling me we would later laugh about it and she's right. Aside from some general requests on how I wanted my hair and makeup to look, I trusted her to do her thing and she delivered. I went with wavy curls because I wore a flower crown. I'm always skeptical of curling my hair because it never holds but it held up beautifully even in the Maui heat. The airbrush makeup is amazing. Felt so light on my skin and looked great all night. Thank you, Jessica!

In fact, my husband doesn't like it when I wear makeup and I typically don't wear too much makeup anyways... For this reason I was super nervous on how I would look for my big day. Mira calmed my nerves and always gave me advice through the wedding planning process. She's so nice and I'm glad I went with her. I did a lot of research and wanted to find a MUA that knew how to work with asian eyes. I've had my makeup done by others before and it turned out horrible (those other MUA were recommended as being really good). I have to say... Mira is ABOVE all MUA I have seen/used. Some others make you look dramatic like a drag queen. She didn't make me feel like I had tons of makeup on and made my eyes look bigger/ cat-eyes. We were going for the classic beauty look and everyone can not stop complimenting on how I looked that day. For the hair, I was also unsure of what styles looked good and I just trusted Mira to do the right thing. She gave me lots of textured hair in my updo and I loved it. Everyone said we were beautiful and that we looked so happy. Kids from the Andaz resort would run up to me and tell me I was a princess and looked so beautiful. I'm an Engineering Manager and grew up as a tom boy so everyone at work was super shocked after they saw photos on facebook. When I came back to the office, everyone could not stop talking about it. I thought destination weddings were kept on the dl but I guess not in this case. Once in a lifetime memories and I am so happy everything turned out great. I'll be seeing Mira next time I am back on Maui. Thinking of doing some trash the dress photo shoots for fun next year for our anniversary. Thank you Mira for being a part of such a big moment of our lives!

My fiance and I wanted a simple wedding, and so I had no intention to have my hair and makeup done. However, as my 26 year old daughter pointed out, the photographs from our day would be a forever memory, and I probably wanted to look better than I usually do (i.e., crazy hair and no makeup). Regina was recommended by our wedding coordinator (for a wedding with only my fiance, my daughter, her boyfriend, and me). I was very concerned that no one would be up to the task of doing something with my hair that could withstand the humidity and high winds at Kapalua (like 40 mph gusts and 78% humidity). So, I had Regina come the day before to do a trial run. Totally unnecessary! Regina is a true professional, and knew immediately what to do with my hair. On the day of the wedding, she showed up early and left plenty of time to make any needed changes - no matter what the wedding coordinator says, Regina will do what is needed and will take her time to make you look perfect). While the photographs show her wizardry (and these are our unfiltered, untouched, iPhone photos - professional photos take a while to get), they do not capture her charm and compassion. It sounds silly, but there were times when Regina was putting on my makeup that our eyes would meet. I saw such depth of soul that was calming and reassuring - she would just smile in a way that touched me in a very meaningful way, like a wise woman who knows and says "you will be okay" and you truly believe her. When you are getting married, I cannot emphasize enough how this will be an enormous ineffable quality you will cherish forever. Everyone, even my somewhat critical daughter, was stunned at the outcome. My makeup was natural looking but oh-so-flattering (alluring and sexy, too!), and my hair? Holy-moly - she did it! My hair survived the outdoor wedding and photographs on the beach, all absolutely, unbelievably, in tact. I looked more beautiful than I think I ever have. I told Regina I wanted to stick her in my pocket and take her everywhere with me. It was like a Cinderella outcome. Please - do yourself a favor and book Regina for your wedding. You will absolutely LOVE the outcome, and moreover, you will be in the hands of someone who will nurture your soul as you take this huge life step. Regina cannot be beat.

Cynthia Rose of Kipona Aloha did makeup and hair for my rehearsal dinner and June 30, 2018 wedding…read more She was recommended to me by my wedding planner who said she has seen her "work miracles." "Cynthia has spent over a decade doing makeup + hair in NYC, LA, Europe & Hawaii working on runways, red carpets, magazines, ad campaigns and weddings," and her experience has translated into a very successful enterprise. After I booked Cynthia, she sent me her "Timeline of Do's and Don'ts before your Maui Wedding." This instruction was INFINITELY helpful and I followed it religiously starting six months before my wedding. This helped my hair, skin, and nails look their best for the big day. Cynthia set me up for success but unfortunately, I did have a mishap before my wedding...I found myself in need of a BIG Cynthia Rose miracle. Long story short, I went to get eyelash extensions for the first time right before my wedding and ended up with chemical burns in my eyes and no eyelashes at all...a bridal NIGHTMARE. Seriously, to. this. day. I cannot believe this happened. After seeing the ophthalmologist to get eyedrops (and having a full meltdown at his office) I called Cynthia to let her know the bad news. She was so sweet and told me everything was going to be alright and she knew just what to do. On my wedding day, Cynthia gave me a pep talk and pampering. She arrived early so she could really take her time prepping my skin and giving me the "full treatment." We also reviewed the look I was going for and she already had the pictures I sent her pulled up on her phone. She continually referenced these throughout the process to align my vision with her work, which I really appreciated. When she was done my eyes (and face) looked AMAZING...full beauty potential was definitely met, lol. She used gorgeous falsies, high quality makeup products, and lotions which made my skin glow and my eyes brighten up. I was going for a softer, more natural look and Cynthia gave me exactly what I wanted. What was even better than the way I looked was the way Cynthia made me feel. Starting my wedding day with Cynthia gave me the confidence boost I needed to shine throughout the day (and bonus- the hair and makeup stayed put through the end of the night)! I am forever grateful to Cynthia and can attest to her incredible talent and skillset. I believe she truly is one of the best artists (and miracle workers- ha ha) in her field. My wedding was small (just me, my groom & 2 kids). However, I still wanted my hair & makeup done to WOW even the curious of bystanders at the ceremony. Cherie contacted me the day before to verify my room number and her arrival time. She arrived on time with her bags of magic. She created a half updo suitable for my 11-yr old daughter and knocked my updo out of the universe. She called it the "Eva Longoria" and it was stunning.. a low updo with beachy waves (I didn't want slick and pulled back). She skillfully applied my makeup (go airbrush!) after I showed her several pics. It helped to show her not just what color palette I liked, but also what I DIDN'T want to look like. I, like many of the reviewers, opted for lashes. THIS IS A MUST to complete your look. I didn't want the Kim K. look and the end result was fabulous. My special day was perfect. My hair & makeup complimented my beachy dress style. Remember: You only have 1 chance to get it right. If you're spending $ on pictures and video, then spend $ on your hair & makeup too!
