I had a horrible experience at this salon on 5/25. I had sent a picture of the hairstyle I wanted…read moreto Miriam (the salon owner), a day before my appointment. I also brought the picture and showed it to Miriam before she started my hair. She could not deliver the hairstyle, and gave me a hairstyle that was completely different, horrible and hideous-looking. She had no clue what she was doing. When I pointed out that the hairstyle was not matching the picture, she blamed it on the shape of the head in the photo. That explanation made no sense to me. I repeatedly told her that the style was not coming out correctly. Instead of listening, she kept yelling over me and would not let me speak. Every time I tried to explain what was wrong, she interrupted me and insisted that she was doing "what was best for me." I then told her that I was not there for a hairstyle she thought was best for me but a hairstyle I wanted. She just kept yelling over me, that I could not put in a word and she didn't listen to anything I said. Subsequently, another client came into the salon. During this entire appointment, the salon door was locked, so Miriam had to unlock the door to let the client in. The fact that the salon remained locked during my appointment became especially uncomfortable later when the situation escalated. To make sure I was not being unreasonable, I showed the picture to the client who had come into the salon. The client agreed that the hairstyle did not match the photo. The client even told Miriam that she didn't want to make the situation worse but wanted to be honest, that the style she gave me was not only different, but it didn't look nice. She said she didn't like the hair either. So this made me feel validated and that I wasn't being unreasonable or being a difficult client. The client then tried to explain to Miriam what was different and what had been done incorrectly, but Miriam would not listen to her either. She continued arguing, yelling, and becoming increasingly agitated. Eventually, the client became frustrated and told Miriam that she was not listening. The entire situation felt hostile and unsafe. Miriam was belligerent, she became increasingly confrontational, she wouldn't listen to either of us and just kept yelling and arguing. What upset me most was not just the hairstyle, but the way I was treated. I was being yelled at, talked over, and dismissed every time I tried to speak. Miriam's tone and behavior were aggressive. As the argument escalated, she advanced toward me while raising her voice, which made me fear the situation could become physical. I became concerned about my safety and no longer felt comfortable being there. At that point, I was no longer interested in the hairstyle. I simply wanted to leave for my safety. I just wanted my belongings, and the ability to leave. The combination of the yelling, the hostility, the refusal to listen, and being inside a locked salon made me feel extremely uncomfortable. In the end, I lost my time, my money (she charged me $150), and the 5 bags of hair I had purchased for the style. Most importantly, I left feeling shaken by the entire experience. Miriam used to have some ladies in her salon that did hair really good. When I asked about them, she said they left. It seems like Miriam is just trying to wing it. If you can't do a hairstyle on a picture that was provided to you prior, but think by yelling at your customer, you can get away with it then I have to agree with the other review that called her a scammer. I felt threatened and intimated being yelled at, and charged towards aggressively, in a locked space. Unfortunately, we live in a time when people sometimes react unpredictably or irrationally when emotions escalate, and I did not feel comfortable remaining in that space. I would rather lose money than put my personal safety at risk. I would never return. The hairstyle was not what I requested, my concerns were ignored, I was repeatedly yelled at, trapped, and the entire interaction left me feeling disrespected and unsafe.
