Turner is a wizard, a magician, and a skilled therapist. Hire him now. The depth and breadth of Turner's knowledge is encyclopedic. I'm talking "the history of the world in 380 volumes - written by an obscure and obsessive 19th century German scholar" encyclopedic. On "shopping day" (in-person in NYC), while trying on shirts, I suddenly felt lazy. We were assessing two shirts, identical except for their color: one navy, the other white. After trying one on, I protested that, surely, it wasn't necessary to try on the same item twice. Turns out, I was mistaken. Turner effortlessly explained that light- and dark-colored fabrics can fit differently, even if everything else about them is the same. He spoke of dye chemistry, sulfur bonds, and fabric tension. Ignorant of much though I may be, I know enough to discern when I'm in the presence of a master of their craft. I tried on the second shirt. Before I worked with Turner, I was a style and fashion neophyte. Even the words "style" and "fashion" felt cryptic. What do they comprise? And beyond vagueries like "Paul Newman was a stylish guy," how do these concepts translate into concrete advice? Now that our work has finished, I have a solid grasp of the answers to these questions. For Turner himself, style encompasses nearly everything. So too his expertise. He advised me on all sorts of topics that I'd never have supposed had anything to do with my imagined world of runway shows and Gucci handbags. He told me what closet-organization gear I should buy; he told me what sort of hangers I ought to purchase. He presented solutions to niche grooming issues.
