The entire session was incredibly in-depth, informative, and personalized. I learned so much, compared to previous online analysis which were all wrong. It has already made shopping so much easier and more efficient since I know exactly what to look for. I treated myself for my birthday to a color analysis and body analysis at Sek Lab, something I've always wanted to do , and I learned a lot. I now feel much more confident understanding the colors, shades, patterns, and fabrics that truly work best for me. The session also included makeup guidance (lipstick, blush, etc.), which I enjoyed, although I wish that portion had been longer. I'm interested in coming back for the longer makeup class they're working on. My consultant Jess was : fabulous ,patient, knowledgeable, and very thorough. She made the experience comfortable and informative. The booking process, however, was frustrating. Online scheduling wasn't available, and I had to follow up multiple times to secure my appointment. I also personally felt the experience was a bit overpriced for what was included. While I gained helpful information, it was a lot of content packed into one session, and by the end my brain was definitely tired. If I could do it again, I would schedule the services on separate days or book a later session to better absorb everything. I also received a nice PDF the next morning, which was really helpful and a great follow-up after the appointment. Overall, I recommend the color analysis class that portion felt the most valuable. First of all, it always rubs me the wrong way when companies try to inflate demand by misleadingly make it appear scarce, in order to charge more for it. It's like having to queue outside a club, only to get in and realize the place is half empty. The same with Seklab. They make it as hard as possible to book, so that they can make it seem more exclusive and continuously raise their prices. It's clever, no doubt. The color analysis takes place in someone's apartment in a bit of a rundown apartment building. The person who did my analysis was sweet and kind, but not as clear as I would've hoped. The analysis of the individual colors goes very quickly and it's hard to get an overview of it. It was mostly a confusing sequence of something like: "ok so the green of summer bright is not your color, but the light green of spring deep was good, and the grey of autumn bright was not as good as the grey of winter deep" kind of thing. She told me which one is my top color season, but I don't really know what colors/nuances are part of that category. There seems to be little consistency of info online; it seems rather arbitrary which nuances belongs where. In the end, you get a poorly printed little card with a few colors from "your" season, but the print quality was so grainy that it's not very helpful. It wasn't a bad experience, but for the price, I'd expect it to be a little more useful. I'm happy I took a cellphone video of the whole thing so I at least could go back and take notes of eg. which green to avoid etc. I left feeling more confused than before. read more
