HIRE NEJLA! Just do it. If you're like me, hiring a stylist seemed like a totally unnecessary expense. A huge splurge. I'd always said I'd do it someday, as I kept dressing in whatever had survived since college. I'm a 35-year-old professional; I needed to level up! I hired Nejla for a closet cleanse, four hours of shopping, and a look book shoot so I could remember how to put everything together. One thing I was dreading was the six hours of hanging out with a stranger, making small talk. I should not have worried! She's so personable and easy to talk to. Nejla is very budget conscious and got my comfort level/budget up front. When I mean a new wardrobe--we bought everything from shoes to rompers. It was worth every penny, but more than that I so appreciated Nejla's approach. She talked me through the whys of what she was selecting and left me feeling super empowered too. Even our salesperson at Nordstrom was like a buddy by the end of our trip (4 hours flew by, which I couldn't believe!). Do it, you won't regret it!! read more

Cultivating my own personal style was something I always struggled with (probably due to the fact I grew up wearing uniforms to school, but I digress). I became even more fashionably lost during the pandemic -- after all, like many people I spent 2 years working from home and wearing nothing but leggings. I landed my dream role working at a fashion magazine last summer, and I wanted to walk in feeling confident in what I wore. Nejla absolutely came to my rescue. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little hesitant at first, but Nejla was professional, and quite frankly calming from day one. Her method is well thought out and really works. We got rid of dozens of pieces during my closet clean out that no longer served me, and during the shopping process she not only leaned into clothes that I was drawn to, but also got me out of my comfort zone. She had me try on pieces that I never would've imagined wearing (this is where you really have to trust the process), and now some of those items are staples for me. I've always hated shopping -- and i know a lot of people can relate -- but she makes it an incredibly fun experience, and the four hours FLEW. My favorite part, though? Putting together the lookbook. After our shopping spree she put together 60 (!) outfits and curated them in a shared photo album so I can go back and find inspiration when I need it. Okay I lied -- my favorite (and the most invaluable) part of the whole experience is the confidence I gained in myself. I never received compliments on my outfits in the past and felt a little mismatched. Since working with Nejla I now walk into any room feeling like a million bucks, whether i'm at the office, on a date, or just hanging out with friends. And without fail, I get compliments on almost every single outfit. Nejla helped me become more like myself in a way that I never thought was possible. For that I am forever grateful. read more

Meeting Nejla has been a total gift! First of all, I adore her- Ive wanted to work with a styling forever and as soon as we met, I knew it had to be her. She made the process so smooth and easy! My closet is finally clean and organized. She helped me pick out pieces to style me in a way that feels like an easy enough transition into something new and a much better reflection of who I am. I already love how I feel so much more in my new wardrobe and frankly, even just being home with a cleansed closet is pretty nice. Thank you Nejla xx read more

I can't recommend Nejla enough! She quickly figured out the style I have always wanted but could not achieve (or even describe). I was worried she would put me in clothes that would not be "me" but that couldn't be further from the truth. Now I have a cohesive style and closet full of clothes that I'm excited to wear! Her personality made the whole experience even better. She immediately put me at ease and made the whole process fun! AND working with Nejla has been way more cost effective than my usual cycle of continuously buying clothes that leave me feeling like I still have nothing to wear. I never want to shop alone again! read more

When hiring someone for a personal service, I think it's a pleasure to work with a person who makes it seem like they find their work effortless and fun, and also finds a way to make new approaches to things seem obvious in a "duh why didn't I think of that" kind of way. I received several hours with Nejla as a gift from my mom. I was apprehensive; I have a job that allows me to wear jeans and t-shirts and sneakers every day, and I didn't see that as a problem. All jeans go with all sneakers go with all t-shirts. Easy. And anyway, it's what's INSIDE that counts right? Well, yes. But first impressions matter, and are often based on the way you look. By editing my wardrobe with me and then filling in gaps she saw, Nejla was able to show me how to make outfits that I think make me look more refined and mature, in a good way. It wasn't an overhaul, it was more of an update. I like that she took pictures of different outfits, so that I can refer to them in the future without even thinking about it. And, using the mix-and-match pieces she helped me get, I think I will be able to put together my own combinations with confidence. An hour after my last session with Nejla, I saw a good friend who didn't know that I'd been working with a "stylist" and the first words out of her mouth were "Look at you, you're actually wearing an outfit!" read more

Nejla is tremendously talented at what she does. My relationship to getting dressed has completely transformed. Nejla is warm, fun, and straight forward. We got right to business and did a complete overhaul on my closet. This might have been a frightening experience; but with the completely right on guidance from Nejla it was energizing. From there we needed to go shopping to re-build a working wardrobe. This is where Nejla becomes a miracle worker-she picked pieces I would never have even thought twice about-and voila-new colors, cuts, materials that never stepped foot into my closet became the foundation to a very simple, effortless and timeless wardrobe. With a very busy career/home life I need to be able to grab things (sometimes in the dark,) and head out the door feeling confident. For so long I have felt uncomfortable and held back by my lack of professional clothes-always feeling sloppy in worn out, ill-fitting clothes. I was wearing maternity jeans...2 years after birth...to work!. In the 2 weeks since working with Nejla I have gotten more compliments from my outfits than in the last 5 years! I feel like I can go anywhere and meet anyone to move ahead in my life. On top of that I think I am losing weight simply because I don't feel like eating greasy, fatty foods when I am dressed so nicely! I honestly don't think I could afford not to work with Nejla. Her services are on par with hiring a professional to handle any other area of your life, it just makes sense. I could go on and on...just give your self this gift. read more

Nejla is extremely talented. I came to her hoping she can help me establish a new look for work- she went above and beyond to work with my schedule and my body type. She was very affordable and picked out some extremely great pieces I never would have thought would look good on me. I feel extremely confident with my new clothes! The compliments keep on coming! I highly recommend Nejla to anyone looking for a change read more

I found Nejla in YELP to do a closet cleansing. In 2 hours and a half we were done with the 80% of my closet. Then we did 1:30 more and she put together great looks, with the clothes I already had. She has packages for 4 and 8 hours were you get a better hourly rate. My closet feels amazing! I am not embarrassed anymore of opening in front of a friend. And the best part! I can find my clothes, see them and wear different fun outfits everyday! She is amazing! She is super efficient and a pleasure to work with! I felt like my friend came to help me to organize my closet. Would love to work again with her and highly recommend her to anyone that wants to feel refreshed with the clothes you already have! read more

Nejla is an amazing stylist and personal shopper. I feel like a total celebrity when I work with her. She took such good care of me, even organizing outfits in the dressing room. One of our trips, we went to Aritizia together and because of her relationship with the staff I was treated like a queen. I am a professional DJ working in corporate and high end events. I needed an update to my work wardrobe. Nejla showed me how to wear pieces together. She is extremely fashionable and full of knowledge. I have had two appointments with her and can't wait to go shopping for fall and winter! Can't recommend her services enough. read more

It was fine. I thought she was really nice and I did get some nice pieces. Maybe I was just being unrealistic in what I thought it would be like. read more

Nejla helped my wife "shop her closet" and updated my wife's own true personal style. Nejla has a fantastic eye for fashion and a clear vision for organizing a woman's closet and accessories. She knew when to suggest an item would better "serving another owner" and offered excellent accessory options. When my wife and Nejla then went shopping, my wife returned home invigorated by the things she had purchased and felt that she had a much better wardrobe than before she began. I think Nejla is a must-use resource for any woman. read more

My style hasn't changed much over the years. I went from wearing mostly yoga pants and sweatshirts all through college, to wearing mostly jeans and sneakers in my adult life. Being a bigger woman, it's not easy for me to find nice clothes that I actually like. Shopping has always been like a cruel form of torture in my life. Nejla really helped me see that I can look and feel beautiful in clothes that fit me right. While shopping together, she had arms full of clothes that I would have never picked out for myself. I basically scoffed at everything she selected... that is until I tried them on. With Nejla's help, I now have a wardrobe full of feminine, colorful, beautiful things that I assumed I could never get in my size. She made me look passed my insecurities as a plus size woman and see the beauty in the mirror. I am so grateful for Nejla's help and her keen fashion sense. read more

Working with Nejla was fun and easy. I highly recommend her services. Her knowledge and expertise is obvious and her professionalism exceeded my highest expectations! I can't wait to shop with her again!!! read more

I have been working with Nejla since 2015 and have had the best experience I've ever had with a personal shopper. I have done "refreshes" twice a year - once for fall/winter and once for spring/summer - and it has been a great way to keep my closet up to date with things I love to wear. Nejla is very organized and plans out the shopping trip - I'm always amazed after shopping how much we were able to buy from my shopping list. She really listens to what I like - my personal style - while also helping me "stretch" a bit to things I wouldn't normally have bought on my own. She has helped me with both my professional work wardrobe as well as my casual wardrobe. She has helped me with clearing out my closet to make sure the pieces I have work for me. And I love the outfit sessions that we do after shopping that pull everything together. She takes photos of many outfit combinations that I can reference later for ideas on putting outfits together. I would highly recommend Nejla to help anyone with end-to-end process of getting your wardrobe updated so you love getting dressed every day! read more

Not only does Nejla have an uncommonly keen sense of style and a genuine love for fashion, she is also an absolute doll and a boatload of fun to work with. What really stood out to me was her ability to really get a sense of my own style and then help me identify pieces that I liked and that looked good on me (as opposed to the one-size-fits-all approach some people in the fashion industry take.) Her rates are also extremely reasonable, especially by New York standards. I would highly, highly recommend working with Nejla to anyone who wants to add a little kick to their wardrobe. read more

Nejla is extremely helpful and working with her is well worth the investment. She helped my wife and me both with cleaning out our cluttered closets and getting rid of clothes that had been in our lives for way too long. She's a great listener and attentive to specific needs of her clients. Perhaps the best thing about working with her is having her by your side while navigating the crazy shopping scene of NYC - she knows her way around and really just takes all the stress of shopping away. I couldn't recommend her more highly. read more

Nejla is great at what she does! She "shopped my closet" and also helped me re-work a new wardrobe by taking me shopping. She has a great eye! I'm still getting compliments on the things she picked out. After she shopped my closet and took me to some boutiques she provided me with a photo album of all the outfits she put together for me. I look at the photos all the time when looking for inspiration as she put together about 60 looks from my new and existing wardrobe. Not only does she provide a professional service, she is also a great person to spend a few hours with. read more

Nejla was absolutely amazing! I decided to use her services in order to improve my professional image and she more than exceeded my expectations. She is not only very good at what she does but also makes the whole process fun. She helped me achieve my style ideal, which I didn't even know I needed, or wanted, before we met. If you are looking for a stylist then definitely go with Nejla! read more

Nejla is extremely knowledgeable, personable, and efficient. She took the time to understand what I was looking for and was confident she could help. The closet cleanse helped me get rid of items I was never going to wear again or didn't fit well. She was ruthless during this process in the best way. When shopping, she went to stores ahead of time and pulled items. We ended up getting pieces I never thought I would like but really loved once paired together. She came in under budget and I am very happy with what we got. I also learned a lot and feel more confident going shopping by myself. The best part was the look book she created by taking pictures of complete outfits. It is a wonderful resource to have. She meticulously took notes on everything we did along the way and sent great recap emails after each session. I never thought I would use a service like this but am so happy that I did. I feel like I ended up saving money by getting clothes that I actually like. It was a pleasure working with Nejla and I look forward to seeing her again in the future! read more

Nejla was fantastic at helping me understand what colors work best for my features; she also helped me choose styles that flattered my body type. I would have never thought about wearing the clothes she picked out but anytime I wear her selections I always get complimented! I also love how comfortable she made me feel - I often feel shy about being too curvy - her accepting attitude made me feel really safe to express my insecurities and made me feel good about my body. read more

Life changing stylist!! I haven't got a clue what's in style on my own! Nejla had a way of kindly telling it like it is with my current wardrobe ("ok, I'm sure at some point those overalls were in style but now is the time to let them go") and then helping to find a style that fits my personality, lifestyle, and budget. I loved her approach and professionalism. Highly recommend her for anyone you needs an updated and fabulous new look. read more

Nejla is amazing!!! I couldn't be happier! Always responsive, has lots of knowledge on the latest fashions, and is super helpful in finding a style that fits your body type. She made the whole process comfortable, encouraging and fun! We first met for an initial consultation. She is so delightful and immediately understood my goals and started to develop a plan on how to go through my closet. I decided to do the closet cleanse and lookbook option with her (see her website for all choices). We reviewed all my clothes, and she really helped me understand how to choose the right outfit for the right occasion. She gave me shopping suggestions for pieces that could complement my outfits (she emailed the product links!) and took pictures of complete outfits. We talked a lot about dressing confidently for your body type. I walked away feeling so good about my body and what I can start to wear now. I highly recommend working with Nejla! read more

Nejla is incredibly professional and is really great at figuring out what works for you. I have been in jeans and t-shirts (company branded) for several years and felt totally overwhelmed by shopping in New York. I looked for help because my confidence at work and my social life was suffering. I admit feeling intimidated by Nejla's profile especially with my lack of fashion sense and was wondering if I would come out of the consultation feeling even less confidence. On the first call Nejla immediately put me at ease, is totally understanding and really gets that its not that easy for some people. I gave her an impossible wish list (clothes that don't need ironing, clothes I could wear in warm weather and layer for colder days, clothes that make me look professional yet comfortable for after work scenes.....) but she totally nailed it within my budget. While shopping, she intuitively senses what makes you happy (a certain color or fit of clothes) and works with that. She does warn that some styles may not work and there is a lot of clothes to try on but she makes it a fun experience. I received free tips on things to do in New York, which malls to visit in my neighborhood and an encouraging nudge to go out and enjoy the city. I've received a photo album with suggestions on how to match the different pieces and also got separate suggestions on accessories. I would really recommend Nejla's services especially if like me, you have no idea where to start. read more

I had a wonderful time shopping with Nejla. She took a lot of time to understand my style and what I was looking for. The stores she took me to and clothes she picked out all helped me explore new styles and silhouettes and get outside my comfort zone a bit while still feeling like me. We picked up a number of new pieces all while staying within my budget. I feel like I have "outfits" now rather than just clothes. Plus, Nejla is an absolutely lovely person and I greatly enjoyed getting to know her. If I lived on the East Coast, I would definitely shop with her again. I loved the entire experience! read more

I hate to shop. I keep everything very one-note so I don't have to think about it or waste money on momentary trends, but I overthink it anyway. I want to be chic & stylish, but I don't know what's appropriate for different occasions. Nejla helped me immeasurably. She helped me plan outfits for networking events, meetings, date nights, and brunches. And she's delightful as a person while being 100% professional. I have nothing but amazing things to say about her, and for someone like me who feels uncomfortable shopping in general and whose wardrobe was severely limited, she made me feel confident throughout the whole experience while being honest and helping me get rid of a lot of clothes that were tying me to a former time and place. And then showing me where the holes were, which core pieces I was missing, as well as where I was missing the value of something I already had. read more
