I've now been waxing with Stella for about five months, and the difference in my skin and hair growth has been incredible. I genuinely wish I would have started sooner! Stella is extremely detailed, caring, patient, and makes you feel so comfortable throughout the entire appointment. She also takes the time to actually educate you about your skin and gives the best tips for taking care of it between waxes. She recommended Zensa numbing cream for me because of my sensitive skin and low pain tolerance, and OMG -- I cannot go without it now! It has made such a difference for me, and every appointment gets easier and easier. And the great experience doesn't stop with Stella -- the reception staff is amazing too! Sophia is always so personable, welcoming, and sweet. She makes booking your next appointment so easy and breezy, which I really appreciate. Staying consistent has completely changed my skin, my hair growth, and my overall experience with hair removal. Having someone like Stella who genuinely cares, pays attention to every detail, and helps you figure out what works best for your skin makes all the difference. 10/10 recommend starting your wax journey -- and absolutely letting Stella be a part of it! The business itself is located on Freret where parking is ample on the main or side streets during most hours. The business is clean, with refreshments offered immediately upon walking in. Personally, I have only received facials but I know from first hand testimony by friends that their massages are just as incredible. On the day of the appt, my grandmother and I arrive and there are no signs or anything signaling a 1st time customer they are located in a plaza which clearly you cannot see from the street. A nice lady come to greet us but then I had to find parking. It was soooo HOT!! By the time I arrived in the building I had to freshen up in the bathroom. On the way walking toward the building there is A man with a dog tied to the bench in the breezeway just barking at everyone as they pass. What a scene on the way to serenity. Once I entered the building my 1st service was waiting on me. No paperwork was completed as a 1st time customer and was asked by the person doing the massage what areas I needed done. She was very pleasant and could tell I was FURIOUS with the process. She kept apologizing. THE MASSAGE WAS AMAZING!!!! I would recommend her but I am not toooooo fond of the place. Then the FACIAL!!' Absolutely horrible. I sat in a chair where the lady explained what she would be using. No time was my skin discussed. I clearly was not looking for a simple facial but because I set appointment day before I was not able to really understand what is entailed in each facial. Then the facial begins. When it was over no discussion of my skin and was. Told we will see you up front. Massage 1 hour and facial 30 minutes. Well my grandmother had a manicure. PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME WHY SHE WAS STILL DRYING AFTER 1.5hrs. After I paid and added $22.00 tip the cashier (same person who did my facial) says before I can even leave she left $22.00. WOW!!! Are you serious? No one even offered the products in the lobby for sale. After my facial my face was soooo dry it was ridiculous. I was not even asked what type of skin do I have. No type of data sheet done. After leaving there are a group of people sitting on a stump cussing, and arguing in the corridor patio area I was like I just spent $200.00 for this. I will never again. I would not even recommend this place to anyone

KAYLA is a mad scientist and in the best way possible!!! This woman knows color, and the exact science behind it like no one I have ever met! I have naturally very dark brown hair that always seems to come out orange every time I go to lighten it. Kayla, working her magic, has given me a gorgeous blonde balayage that I never thought was possible with my hair. I will never go to another colorist again! I would and DO recommend Kayla to anyone looking to change their hair color, whether drastic and fun or a simple highlight/lowlight, she is the best! The negative review below really blows my mind and it has led me to believe someone must have been impersonating Kayla, because this chick is cool as hell and she really listens and pays attention to what I want. It is a delight to sit in her chair and I know she would do what it took to make any client happy. Doing anything sub-par is just not her style. Because my hair is so dark the balayage I wanted had to be a 2-step process. Kayla only charged me the full price of the service the 1st time (which was in line with every other salon I have ever been to) and the 2nd time I got out of there for the price of a tip! Kayla has a passion for hair and I am impressed with mine every time I look in the mirror. I have followed Kayla to 3 different salons and I would follow her into the gates of hell. read more

Stephanie is AMAZING! I moved to New Orleans about a year ago and found the salon by simply "walking by" thinking - what a cute salon. I called and got an appt. with Stephanie. She is wonderful. Takes all the time needed to talk through what you are looking for and offers suggestions. I few months ago I had decided to try red. I truly enjoyed the color for a season or two, but then decided one day I was ready to try another color. So, I emailed Stephanie, she emailed me back right away and got me in that week to discuss a new game plan. I was thrilled with what Stephanie did with my hair in one sitting. I kept looking in the mirror wondering how in the world she was able to go from "BRIGHT" to the current color in one sitting, along with keeping it look SO healthy! I definitely thought it was going to be a 3 visit process. She beat all expectations I had. Stephanie does fabulous work, is very knowledgeable, takes very good care of one's hair and does it all in such a kind, professional manner. She truly puts client needs as her top priority and I genuinely appreciate her and her work. If you are looking for a new stylist or new to the area, I definitely recommend Stephanie! I truly have to say the whole salon is fabulous. Very welcoming and all staff members are professional and kind. read more

Absolutely amazing!! I live in Dallas, and was helping to plan a destination wedding in New Orleans for 32 people in from Australia. The wedding was on a Monday and Remi and Corey organised for the salon to open especially to do our guests hair and makeup ( I was already impressed and I hadn't seen their work yet). Remi helped me organise the schedule and it couldn't have run smoother. They even went out of their way to come to our hotel (a block down the street) to touch up makeup and finish off some of the guests hair so it would be perfect - needless to say the makeup and hair at the wedding was beautiful!! I can not recommend this amazing team enough! They are so hard working and their hard work definitely paid off. Thank you to your entire amazing team for helping to make our special day so special !! read more

She has some magical hands I tell ya! She made my hair go from looking blah to looking like a movie stars hair! Also was very good with getting my hair to go from dark to blonde and it usually takes other hair stylist more then one appointment to get it light blonde. Very well worth every penny spent at the salon! Try it out I bet you won't be disappointed! Everyone deserves to look their best. read more

I have been seeing Kayla ever since I have moved to New Orleans 3 years ago. The false comment below about paying $400 for orange hair is complete slander. I originally had extreme ombre hair and wanted to have platinum white hair. Kayla got me to the white color I wanted with no issues whatsoever. She has even offered to come in on days she is not scheduled to work and even not charged me if I felt the color wasn't what I desired. Kayla is BY FAR the ONLY person I trust with bleach and the overall health of my hair. For all over color, I have never spent more than $100. I have followed Kayla to every salon she has worked because of how talented she is. Style House is my new home because of her. read more

Yelena Roebuck did a wonderful job on my eyebrows! Over the past 15+ years my eyebrows have been growing thinner and thinner. I never wanted to have the tattooed so, I learned to use makeup to fill them in. Always on fleek. But now I have a child and doing my eyebrows everyday became harder to do. I've heard about microblading from a friend and researched it. Now finally something that actually looks like hairs! Definitely no Chola brows of the past. I found Yelena through Facebook and Instagram. And she was willing to do them for me. She was very knowledgeable and had my mind at ease. So, I said why not let's do this! Ya'll I have brows! This review is of both Kayla and Cory. Kayla is an artist with color. I was referred to her after my previous colorist left (from a different salon) and have been extremely pleased with Kayla. I have now followed her from the previous salon to here and was so happy with her that I got my mom to start going to her. She is fantastic. Cory is new to me as is Style House. He does very precise work and is gave me a great cut. (I also got him to cut my mom's hair and it looks fabulous). Style House itself is a great spot-very light, airy, and open. Don't you hate when you can't tell if it's a date or not? Hehe Anywho, Joann dyed my hair to cover up the grays and it looks perfectly natural which is exactly that I wanted! I'm pretty low maintenance when it comes to my hair normally only getting it cut once a year or so (laziness, I know!) and then getting it styled once a year for a Mardi Gras Ball. Joann also gave me an amazing haircut as well! I looked so cute that I decided to take myself out on a date! Ladies, you know what I'm saying when you're feeling your hair! Hehe In addition, Joann helped me with my thinning hair by recommending the Regenesis serum which I swear by now! I tried the foam first but I really like the serum now. Tiffani is by far the best hair dresser I've ever had. I first found her five years ago after a…read morefriend posted pictures of her new hair color and knew I had to see her. Before this, I didn't trust anyone and chose to not see a hair dresser at all instead of over paying and leaving dissatisfied. Even when I lived in Palm Beach for two years I still flew back to New Orleans just to get my hair done by her. She is a hair genius! Attached are pictures from my first visit to her five years ago and my latest one a week ago. You won't regret seeing her!

This review has been in my draft box for way to long! But I've been here at least 4 times since I…read morestarted my review, so I can attest that not only is this place A-MAZ-ING but they're consistent, which is even more important IMHO. Naturally I love all things glam, and the Glam Bar is no exception. My stylist at the Glam Bar is Sadie, and to put it lightly she is completely amazing! I've been seeing her since she was at her previous salon and followed her here to her new home, and I've gotta say I really love the environment here. The vibe is sleek and modern and everything is brand spanking new and sparkly. Get ready to relax and get pampered! Did you forget to grab a drink or small bite to eat before coming in for you appointment? No prob! You don't have to sit there in agony, while your stomach growls like the lion at the Audubon Zoo- because they offer various assorted snacks, Keurig coffee, soda, water, wine- just help yourself! The stylists here all seem extremely talented, but I have only seen my girl Sadie, and she is just the bees knees. Not only is she the sweetest and easiest person on earth to talk to but girls got talent! She always executes the style and color I request, but at this point I usually ask her to do her thang because she knows what works for my hair color, face shape, etc. Like any great stylist, she frequently attends seminars to stay up to date on the latest and greatest techniques, so you can always feel confident taking your crazy hair fantasy to her to turn it into reality! Other services they offer are eyelash extensions, brow waxing and spray tanning. I haven't had the opportunity to try these services out yet, but as soon as I get some extra cash I plan on giving the lash extensions and spray tanning a go! Go visit Sadie @the Glam Bar and get ready to meet the new, beautiful you!
