Hey there Willy Wonka , you might as well pack it up because Stutz just made you their bitch. Great staff, very helpful and again lets just say the chocolate gods have spoken. Stutz has a plethora of chocolate combinations from the milky, down to that dark chocolate that will have you going into an euphoric bliss. I mean the creativity alone is worth the visit as your basket is running out of space. Please don't get me started on their dark chocolate almond bark, pretzels, reeses cups , or those cordials that will have your eyes rolling back. If you're worried about the prices , and yes at the end of your experience it can rack up pretty high. Who says we're all nuts? Some of us are the best toffees you will ever have, oh and don't forget the coconuts or the peanut butters, ah there's that word nut again! Oh and then there is just the mention of chocolate that pairs with anything, champagne, fine wines, beer, strawberries, pretzels and filet mignon, well maybe not filet but trust me, I'll bet it has been on a menu somewhere. Stutz has quite a few locations and this is their mother store with the huge kitchen that makes it all and frankly I'm amazed it has not been yelped! I have visited this location many times, but honestly it has been awhile, until last week when we were in the area. Hubby stopped at the stop sign and I said oh Stutz, I need some candy! The candy store is huge with rows and rows of bagged candies, I over bought my share of various licorice, jelly beans, gum drops and long cases filled with lots of chocolates! They were in the middle of transforming from St. Pat's Day to Easter, so chocolate bunnies were playing with Irish potatoes, so I snagged a box just to make sure I got my share. I have plenty of time to do my Easter candy shopping, but they have some of the very best chocolate covered Easter eggs which no basket is complete without, so I bought a creamy coconut cream egg and a chocolate nut egg, of course they have already been cut into, so it looks like I will have to go back soon! We happened upon this place on our way home from the Glencairn Museum in the area. We are almost completely unfamiliar with the area, and knew absolutely nothing in advance about a candy place (i.e. no Yelp research ahead of time, or during for that matter). But when I saw a huge cinderblock building painted white, with red vintage-looking writing all over, that talked about "own make candy", it was a promising sign of a local treat! The store is HUGE for a homemade candy store. The nearest comparable store to us is Bevan's in Media, PA and their store is small compared to Stutz's. While it looked promising, we'd been disappointed with the candy from Wilbur Chocolate in Lititz last year, so since we knew nothing about the place, we decided a couple white paper bags of seconds was the best bet. We bought a bag of dark chocolate assorted flavors (41 candies inside) and a dark chocolate coconut cream (28 larger candies inside), for $8.50 each. We were very pleased with the taste of the candies. The coconut cream is great, with a very thick chocolate shell. I used to love the drugstore Russell Stover coconut cream candies, but Stutz's puts those to shame. I had a pack of Russell Stover at home and did a taste comparison, and the RS tasted like processed chemical junk compared to Stutz's. You will get MUCH fresher, non-chemical ingredients from Stutz. I honestly do not want to eat RS anymore after seeing the difference. Granted, Stutz won't have a long shelf life, but that is a good thing. Besides, they are so good I am sure they won't last long enough to need a shelf life anyway. For some reason when I ate a nut cluster in chocolate from the assorted bag, I did not get as much flavor from the chocolate as I did on the coconut creams. I am guessing that was a problem with my tastebuds because my husband has had no trouble becoming addicted to these candies, and I am having a very hard time staying away from the coconut creams myself. All in all, they taste great, and my husband has eaten a gluttonous 13 candies since we left the store yesterday. FYI, as far as we can see, the seconds have only superficial cosmetic blemishes like little divits in the chocolate or something, and really nothing else askew. I would have no problem buying seconds and putting them in my own little favor bags or some Martha-Stewart-y type gift presentation to give to people. I would actually prefer to gift the chocolate that way as opposed to the vintage-looking gold boxes offered in the store, especially since they are priced so much higher. Just my personal preference, and a tip for people looking to save a little money. We're so glad we found this place and look forward to another visit when we are in the area again! read more

I have visited here several times and the more times I come back the better and better it gets. They have such a huge variety of all kinds of treats. I have gone in there for Mother's Day and it was very simple to find a gift. That was a quick and productive visit. Today I went back and spent time looking around. I easily spent a half an hour there and didn't get through half the store. There is such a variety and the customer service is great. They even wrapped up a few gifts my mom was buying. Prices are pretty good too. There is a credit card minimum of 10 dollars but that's a simple task when I take a walk around the store. I can't wait to go back. read more

Stutz Candies are a tradition in my family. Each Easter and Christmas, we stock up on Peanut butter smidgens, nonpareils, coconut clusters, and seasonal items. Their popular items, like nonpareils and smidgens get a seasonal twist.. Red and green nonpareils for Christmas, lamb and chick shapes for Easter. I stopped in tonight and saw some Halloween/fall items. Their candies are a bit pricey, but worth a special occasion splurge because they're absolutely delicious. Very disappointed in a company we have used for many years. Due to illness I was forced to order by phone from the store and have it shipped to my home. Ordered our 3lb. box chocolates for the holidays as always. Order arrived and was charged $9.85 shipping and $2.50 handling which was never mentioned when order was placed. A total of $63.20 was charged to our card. Would have been nice if they explained this during ordering. Not fair to a longtime customer. read more

Let's start out by saying that it takes a lot to run a business and small businesses are especially hard. For that reason they get 2 stars. As for customer service? Well let's see. We drive by this place every time we go to Costco and we all comment on it. What a cool place, we have to stop in one day, I wonder what they have, etc.... So, today, on the way back from Costco, my wife and 2 little girls stopped by. I dropped my wife off and parked the car to get the girls out. When I finally got in with my two daughters my wife tells me that the woman did not greet her in any way, walked right past her not saying a word. Now let me tell you. The place was completely empty. It was 10 min before they closed. Then after no help, the woman that walked past her continues to stock shelves while another woman yaps on the phone who also had an opportunity to acknowledge my wife. So unfortunately we will never see how the candy tastes because if there is one thing I won't stand for is out right rudeness. Oh.. by the way.... did I mention my wife is black? Hmmmm? read more
