I hired Jeremy, the owner of TLC, to remove three large trees from my property. Jeremy showed up on…read moretime for the estimate and seemed well-spoken and knowledgeable. Although TLC wasn't the cheapest estimate, I decided to go with them anyway. It was stated in the contract that I would keep all the wood, and the crew would cut it into 16"-20" pieces and stack it. On the day of the removal, the crew showed up two hours late with no phone call or text. I was nervous that they weren't going to show up, so I called Jeremy to touch base. The crew finally arrived, and I went to my neighbor's place just down the street. A few hours later, I saw two trucks leaving my lot loaded with two large tree trunks worth hundreds of dollars in hardwood. I confronted Tom, the site foreman, and he said, "I didn't think you would mind." and said he would "knock a few bucks off the price". I called Jeremy, and he apologized for his crew stealing the wood. He said this has never happed before. While we did come to a discounted price, in retrospect, I should have filed a police report. If you hire TLC, keep a very close eye on their crew. They are obviously not trustworthy. If they were willing to steal from me, it's possible that they have done the same to other customers as well.

We had an amazing experience with Alex & Son Tree Service today. From start to finish, he was…read moreincredibly professional and knowledgeable. He even helped us apply for the permit, which made the whole process so much easier. We originally thought we only needed two dead trees removed. When he came out to give us a quote, he pointed out a few other trees that looked fine from the outside but actually had cavities inside. We weren't sure at first, but we trusted his expertise -- and thank goodness we did. Once he cut them, we saw insects and worms crawling inside and realized those trees were hollow and would have eventually fallen, potentially damaging our home. He truly knows his craft. His pricing was very fair, especially compared to the other three quotes we received. Not only was he the most reasonably priced, but his knowledge and thoroughness were unmatched. He also made sure his entire crew wore proper safety gear and cleaned up beautifully after the job was done. Highly recommend -- he is the best at what he does!

After they gave us a quote, they also explained the process, talked about the necessary permits with our HOA, reviewed next steps, and even spent time texting with me about the updated requirements for the stairs on the deck. They sent us detailed recaps after every day they were on site and even went into the crawl space in our attic to show the inside view of the roof.
