Although TLC wasn't the cheapest estimate, I decided to go with them anyway. It was stated in the contract that I would keep all the wood, and the crew would cut it into 16"-20" pieces and stack it. On the day of the removal, the crew showed up two hours late with no phone call or text. I was nervous that they weren't going to show up, so I called Jeremy to touch base. The crew finally arrived, and I went to my neighbor's place just down the street. A few hours later, I saw two trucks leaving my lot loaded with two large tree trunks worth hundreds of dollars in hardwood. I confronted Tom, the site foreman, and he said, "I didn't think you would mind." and said he would "knock a few bucks off the price". I called Jeremy, and he apologized for his crew stealing the wood. He said this has never happed before. While we did come to a discounted price, in retrospect, I should have filed a police report. If you hire TLC, keep a very close eye on their crew. They are obviously not trustworthy. If they were willing to steal from me, it's possible that they have done the same to other customers as well.

They never showed up for my scheduled firewood delivery and didn't bother to call or reschedule. When they finally reached out a week later, the owner (Logan) was defensive and tried to shift the blame onto me instead of taking responsibility. Even worse, I later learned that the firewood they're selling may not be properly seasoned. High-moisture wood burns inefficiently, produces excessive smoke, and can cause creosote buildup -- which is a major chimney fire risk. Customers deserve to know what they're burning in their homes. Between the missed delivery, the attitude, and serious concerns about wood quality and safety, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for firewood.

He even helped us apply for the permit, which made the whole process so much easier. We originally thought we only needed two dead trees removed. When he came out to give us a quote, he pointed out a few other trees that looked fine from the outside but actually had cavities inside. We weren't sure at first, but we trusted his expertise -- and thank goodness we did. Once he cut them, we saw insects and worms crawling inside and realized those trees were hollow and would have eventually fallen, potentially damaging our home. He truly knows his craft.
