Unpretentious and well-priced with warm, efficient service. While enjoying our meal, we saw families enjoying large Sunday dinner and older couples reminiscing about when the restaurant was called " The Black Forest "... they were glad the place was reopened and the booths and hand painted details remained. We will be back with friends and linger over some good wine and dessert. Highly recommend!

Our drink order came quickly along with fresh rye bread and real butter. We ordered the Small Vienna Schnitzel and it certainly wasn't small - filled the plate. We substituted Spaetzle for potatoes and they were prepared the true German way - hand cut and lightly fried - a very generous portion, too. I had a side order of Red Cabbage and it was very tasty - took most of it home. I still highly recommend this restaurant for real German food. The menu has lots of popular items on it.

It was such a nostalgic feeling walking back into this restaurant. Not a thing has changed and I liked that We were served by multiple waitresses and all of them were super sweet and kind. It really felt like you were in a small town community. They are known for their ham hock but it was super hot out today so we decided to go with the rib and pigtail combo. Super delicious and the meat falls off the bone. We also got some wings for their Thursday wing deal. $1.75 per wing. The garlic dill seasoning was a very pleasant surprise. Now as someone who is Asian and not German... it's a bit odd to see a lot of Asian people coming into this restaurant. But this place has been talked about and recommended by all of my Asian peers since I was a child. Which I think is quite impressive and speaks for the food itself. Because if you know a lot of older Asian parents, they can be quite picky when it comes to non-Asian food.

Look for specialties like rouladen, schnitzel, sauerbraten and more. Since it is close to the holidays they have a roast duck special for the month of December (yum!). Prices are very reasonable and service is friendly and knowledgeable. They also are licensed so lots of options for beer, wine etc. We had the duck and schnitzel. Soooo good. The duck came with red cabbage and potato patties. The schnitzel came with home fries and steamed vegetables ( although you could have spatzle if you liked). Please note that even though their online menu shows a variety of salads for those who want lighter fare - the menu handed to us did not show those options. My friend was however able to order a Caesar salad with a grilled chicken breast which she said was wonderful. Her hubby had the rouladen. All the meals were great. We were covering the Black Forest cake at the end but could not do it ( the portions being very generous) so we took some slices to go! Great choice as it was delicious. Note- if you are small portion eaters think about sharing a meal or be prepared to take a good amount home with you!

I cannot believe the embarrassment I felt from Concordia! I thought it would be a nice day/evening out to take our German friends to Concordia for dinner and a few beers. What a disappointment - beyond pathetic! The food was nothing less than a bunch of slop I wouldn't even feed my dog. The old bag serving it was so belligerent even the woman selling the food tickets was shaking her head at the attitude. But enough of the customer service, that I can I get past because that's so typical of Canada anyway. It's the food that I have a real issue with - TOTAL GARBAGE! Lost my appetite just looking at it and just pushed the shit aside. Way to go Concordia, you really represented yourselves well in front of our German visitors. I'm sure they'll have a lot to talk about when they return home. First time in a long time....NEVER AGAIN!!!

It was a Sunday night. Our reservation was at 6P. We left at 5P. It took us 35 minutes. Great meal. Started with the goulash. The beef had been pounded and was small and tender like the potatoes and carrots. I opted for minor spicy. It was served very hot and was perfect. We've had goulash at Grundel in Hungary, and this was comparable. We both had the pork wienerschnitzel, which came with fried potatoes and a smidge of red cabbage. The pork was divine. We've had wienerschnitzel across Central Europe, and this one was perfection. The sprinkle of dill added a nice mild tang (great touch). The portion of pork was not huge, but you get plenty of taters. My lovely had the apple strudel for dessert. I had the crepe stuffed with jam. Both were incredible. I paired mine with the Viennese coffee, which could have been served a bit hotter. It was tasty, though. I also had the berry spritzer and a shot of apricot brandy. The first was refreshing; the second didn't taste very apricoty. Parking is immediately in front of this gem. Wonderful meal expertly prepared. A bit pricey, but worth every penny. Highly recommend.
