We had an amazing breakfast here! Definitely worth the short drive off the main drag. Great prices, large portions. The Bloody Mary was very good! I had chicken fried steak, hash browns, eggs, and rye toast. Husband had the biscuits and gravy with eggs, hash browns, and toast. We both thought our food was done perfectly. I love chicken fried steak but rarely see it on a menu. This was a pleasant surprise! This place definitely seems to have a lot of locals, which is always a good thing. It's a family run business and you can tell. Very down home feeling to the place. Very small and cozy. Today lots of hunters were eating there. Please visit this restaurant if you're in town for vacation or just passing through. My husband and I decided to try them out for breakfast as opposed to getting the generic fast food options around. I ordered french toast and he got an omelette. Our food was so good! Actually, he just looked at a picture of their steak and eggs and now he regrets not getting that. The service was excellent too. We weren't too surprised though, because we called ahead to see if they were open and the gentleman who answered was very friendly. Even when we got there he was so kind, our waitress too. We have driven past this place dozens of times but never stopped in. We finally did about three weeks ago and was not disappointed! This is our second visit. In fact, it is a great breakfast/lunch diner. Open 7am to 2pm and seats about 30 in booths and tables. Everyone is very friendly and makes you feel at home. Even the cook/owner walked around and talked to diners! Meals were excellent and budget priced. The amount of food was perfect...not skimpy but nothing had to go home in one of those containers! Took a short trip to Wisconsin Dells, found Stuff on yelp and decided to try it out. It's not fancy but the food was delicious, the waitress delightful, cheery and attentive. I had a chorizo breakfast burrito and my husband had a burger. I eat breakfast burritos often, this BB was nothing like any BB I've had anywhere else. Carrots, cauliflower + on the inside chorizo on the top, potatoes/eggs as a side vs the inside. Same with the burger. A little different then the typical burger. Carrots! On top of the burger. After many medical adventures, and a stern warning, to lose weight, or DIE...I returned to Stuff's, 60 lbs lighter. I cannot urge all of you, too strongly...GO TO STUFFS!!! For my first meal, after an 11 month hiatus, I had the meat skillet, plus a side order of corned beef hash. The skillet was just as I remember it...hash browns, with red peppers , mushrooms and onions, as a base. 2 eggs over easy, nestled atop the potato mixture, and melted cheese as a crowning glory. But without a doubt, the corn beef hash, was the star of this gastronomic extravaganza. Once you taste it...your life will change, forever. (vbg) Unfortunately, my diet will only allow myself, one visit a month. The thundering herds have departed till next spring, so we locals can leisurely enjoy the gourmet cooking, produced by this hidden gem on the outskirts of the Dells. I am extremely tempted, to return, on a daily basis...but...I must observe the restraints given to me, by the sadist, otherwise known as my doctor. After all, my mother didn't raise any dumb kids. Humble on the outside, mighty on the inside. It's a very modest looking establishment but the food and customer service is outstanding. I ordered a skillet with gravy on the side, my wife ordered the eggs benedict, both of which were top tier. Unfortunately we were too hungry and dug in right away so we don't have pictures. Customer service was great as well, very friendly staff. This place doesn't look like much from the hwy or the front, however it's well worth stopping in. The front looks like an older house converted into the business. There are 11 tables and a small bar/counter with seating for 5. The service was excellent and fast. Tables turn over quite quickly. They have breakfast/brunch and lunch items. We chose to order breakfast. I had the country fried steak breakfast with eggs, happens, and today. The serving sizes are quite generous. Everything was cooked perfectly and they didn't skimp on the gravy (as I find so many places do)! The coffee was excellent and it's a bottomless pot. The atmosphere is very casual and appears to be a local favorite. I did take note of the efficiency of the staff as they all made sure food was delivered promptly, tables were pre bussed, and I even noticed one of the cooks delivering food to a couple of tables. We were a little skeptical as we went during the off season and nobody was there at 1pm and it was a very small building but please don't let the outside appearance dissuade you. We were followed in by many regulars after we were seated. We ordered the veggie omelette and crab cake Benedict-they were both way beyond our expectations! The sign of good food for me is when I do not have to add hot sauce or A1 on anything and this food was awesome-no sauces needed! American fries were great, rye toast was fresh and flavorful. Cozy little place north of the Dells. Some may get the impression of a greasy spoon cafe until you see the menu. We arrived at the perfect time and didn't have to wait. We were a party of 2 and sat with another small party due to table availability. No problem. We don't bite or spit. Super friendly staff and the owner, who is also a cook, comes out to check on the guests. We had delicious breakfasts and can't wait to go back for lunch and dinner. Our group had two vegetarians and three non vegetarians and everyone loved what they ate! The vegetarian burger was delicious with its uniquely blended rice & bean patty.
