I honestly don't usually leave reviews, but this experience was so upsetting and disappointing that I feel like I have to warn others. To be fair, they did reimburse me the full amount, but that doesn't change the fact that I completely wasted my time and had to deal with a stressful situation that never should have happened in the first place. When I first walked into STUDS, everyone was very accommodating and friendly, which made me feel comfortable and confident in my decision to get pierced here. I was getting my tragus pierced, so I knew anatomy approval and proper placement were really important. Midori was my piercer and approved both my anatomy and the placement. We discussed where it would go, and everything seemed fine at the time. I normally stick with my regular piercer, but I wanted to try somewhere new because I had heard good things about this place. As soon as I left, I realized the piercing was completely wrong. It was visibly crooked and slanted downward instead of going straight through my tragus. There was also a full, noticeable gap between my ear and the front of the jewelry instead of it sitting flat and flush like it's supposed to. I started feeling a weird pain in my jaw, and the piercing was visibly along my facial line, I could literally feel it when I talked or moved my mouth. What made this even more alarming was that there was absolutely no room left on the post for swelling. The backing was already pressing into my skin, and it was starting to embed into my cheek. You can clearly see in the attached photo that the front piece sticks out at an odd angle while the back is digging into my skin. I was so concerned and upset that I went straight to my own piercer the same day. She told me it had been pierced incorrectly and that I needed to remove it immediately or it would become fully embedded. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated that a piercing done by a professional studio turned out this badly. This should never have happened. Even though I got a full refund, I still left being completely let down because my time and trust were wasted. I would not recommend getting a piercing here based on my experience.

Got this cute cluster piece for my tragus

I dropped in super quick on my way to work on a Friday and I was in and out within 15 minutes! I needed a new piece for my tragus piercing. I needed my old one removed and the new one put in. It was super fast & helpful since these are always hard for me to do myself. ty studs :)

    Uneven double piercing

I went in 7 months ago to get my double piercings and change my tragus to a flat back. it was pretty pricey but I heard good reviews. The lady in the front was super nice and helpful finding me the right earrings and going over all my options. The piercer I had (I do not have or remember her name unfortunately--dark hair with lots of tattoos and glasses) was kind of stand off ish and didn't really talk and did the piercings super quick without even alerting me when she was going to pierce my ear. It felt like she just wanted to get it over with. I didn't tip her because of this reason, but now I am really glad I didn't because now that my piercings are healed they are definitely uneven. I find this super infuriating because I paid so much and it shouldn't be hard to get them even. I should have taken more time to check them at the time but I just felt super rushed by the piercer. In the photos you can see I'm wearing the same earrings on each ear and the one is lower with more gap. The Tragus earring I also bought fell out after a few months after too and those are way to expensive to be falling out. Unfortunately I will not be returning to this place.

Knowledgeable staff. Nice selection of earrings. Piecing area is super clean. My piercings were quick and painless.

Cleaning solution I got from there!!

It was such a fun and easy experience! I ended up getting my conch pierced with Nate, and it turned out amazing. Everyone there is super friendly and informative. Will be coming back! Thank you Studs and Bella!

He visited several jewelers across OC, from large retailers to family owned stores and even some that were recommended by other friends/family but none compared to the genuine care and honest customer service he received from Kathy and Jenny here! I came with my fiancé on his first visit here to get sized and choose some shapes that I preferred. Kathy patiently walked us through sizing and explored different shapes with zero pressure and so much patience. We loved how relatable she was and how natural and genuine our convos went! When he returned on his own, Jenny took her time to educate him fully and showcased her expertise (being in the business for 30+ years) and made sure he truly understood every detail, not just the 4 C's, but things other stores never even mentioned so he could feel confident making such an important decision. They actually encouraged him to even take his time and check out other places to make sure he was confident in his decision. This kind of customer care made all the difference! I didn't see the ring until the proposal, and it was absolutely perfect! But what makes it even more meaningful is knowing how much thought, care, and intention went into choosing it and how much of that came from the guidance he received there. I really can't thank both Jenny and Kathy enough for making his experience so smooth and seamless! If you're starting your ring journey and feel overwhelmed, go to South Coast Jewelers. They don't just sell you a ring, they make you feel confident, excited, and taken care of which makes this kind of experience so much more priceless.

He felt judged right away, as if they didn't really want him as a customer. He was genuinely interested in finding a ring and doing business with a local jeweler, but it felt like he was underestimated from the start, which was disappointing. What made it more upsetting was that this is an Asian-owned establishment, yet the environment felt very judgmental and uninviting. During that first visit, they offered to email him the paperwork with ring details and sizing information--but we never received anything. At that point, we were still actively shopping around. When I later went back with him, the staff seemed slightly friendlier once I was there (I'm Asian), but the overall vibe was still the same--very cold and not particularly interested in helping us or earning our business. Again, we asked for follow-up emails, including the GIA paperwork and details we discussed in person, and once again, nothing was ever sent. In the end, we decided to skip this jeweler altogether and take our business elsewhere. Honestly, I'm glad we did. A big purchase like an engagement ring should feel exciting and welcoming, and unfortunately, that just wasn't the experience here

As long-time Rolex owners and collectors--not flippers--we've built a small personal collection over the years, including a two-tone Datejust with a champagne dial and diamond numerals, a rhodium dial Yacht-Master, and a two-tone blue Submariner. In 2024, we spent months searching for two additional pieces: a two-tone 31mm Datejust with a green dial and diamond numerals for my fiancée Kim, and a stainless steel Submariner "Starbucks" for myself. Most dealers simply added us to waitlists with little to no communication. Everything changed when we met Shiva in the fall of 2024. She was professional, transparent, and truly followed through. On July 30th, 2025, she reached out to let us know Kim's 31mm Datejust had arrived, and the experience was seamless from start to finish. Then on February 23rd, 2026, we received the message every Rolex enthusiast hopes for: "Hi Tony, Happy Monday! Hope all is well. The wait is over -- I do have a Green Sub reserved for you." We made the 2.5-hour drive again, and once more, the process was effortless and exactly how a luxury experience should feel. We are currently waiting on a GMT-Master II "Batgirl," and based on our experience so far, we have complete confidence that call will come. The only downside? I haven't taken the Starbucks Submariner off since the day I picked it up. An exceptional experience from start to finish.

That was so very kind of him to allow us to bring in our gelatos! AFTER ALL, we're in our 40s and will most likely not spill ;) They have a very WIDE SELECTION of watches and jewelry. But, guess what got our attention? ROLEX: They have a very nice collection here. I love how spacious and luxurious this store is as compared to the one in Las Vegas and Costa Mesa. This store was also not as crowded or busy so you can shop around privately and peacefully... My husband is looking for a new Breitling watch. He's not in a hurry though and will take his time looking until he's found the Breitling of his dreams... SERVICE is excellent and so is the inventory... They looked at my piece and said it was worth about $200-$500 for the stone (which was GIA certified with documented origin) plus scrap value for the setting. The process didn't feel transparent. An explanation was given for their valuation, but it didn't align with the certification or current market pricing. I took it to another market participant who valued the stone only (not including setting) for over $6,000 dollars. If you are interested on a consignment or sale option, I would highly recommend getting multiple opinions on pricing before settling on an option especially if you are not familiar with pricing of precious stones. 2 star for good location and decent parking.

He agreed. My partner took them in, and out of the gate, Jules insulted the appraiser from Dana Point, indicating he must have made a mistake on his appraisal because these items could not be worth that much. Mind you they were gifts to me from my sister purchased at a very high end jeweler in Ohio several years ago. Jules offered $1000 for the smaller piece and $2000 for the larger pendant and recorded it in his book. After this initial visit, is when the bottom fell out of the communication process. Jules told my partner that he was going to email me that day, which he didn't. Out of at least 6 additional emails I sent between 7/10 and 8/14, I received no additional response from this jeweler to any of the questions I had, and he lied to me telling me he didn't get any of them. The only response I did get, was on the next visit to Jules by my partner to sell the smaller pendant, to which Jules reneged on the initial pricing offer he had made, even though it was written down in his book, again insulting the appraiser and pretty much treating my partner in way that raised many eyebrows and questions as to whether or not he was being discriminated against due to being an older African American man. Jules treated both of us like we didn't know what we were talking about each time and was quite insulting. He asked me to email my DL to him to complete the transaction, and I replied, this is the same email address I've been sending emails to, but I bet you'll get this one. Of course he did. He also would not honor the $2000 price he quoted originally on the larger piece, instead quoting $1621. So I held off-- and he repeatedly said we didn't know what we were talking about regarding either piece. Now a day ago, on 8/20, because Jules had quoted such a good price on the larger pendant, we tried once again, despite the initial humiliation, to see if he would be a man of his word and give us the $1621 he had quoted the 2nd time on the larger piece. He again insulted my partner, this time offering only $960. He also insulted the appraiser from Dana Point again, and this time the actual jeweler himself - (jeweler to the stars who has been in business since 1919) saying that the certification I got for the pendant, directly from Antonini Milano, was wrong and said they must not have sold me that exact piece, and that even Antonini didn't get the carat count on the diamonds correct.) Again, knowing where the item was purchased, having met Antonini himself, and now knowing first hand from my partner how Jules insulted everyone involved as well as this beautiful piece of jewelry that I had such a fondness for, was too much for me not to come write this lengthy review. If you are caucasian or wealthy, your experience may be different, but we were treated in humiliating fashion each time. The only reason my partner returned was upon agreement with me to see if Jules would honor the pricing he'd quoted and documented. Jules is not a man of his word, his integrity is questionable and he may also not enjoy working with you if you are not of a certain color persuasion. This was our experience. Never again.
