We went here to get a watch fixed. We knew the watch was a potential knock of Rolex, but wanted to still get it fixed. They employees were honest and advised us it was not a real Rolex watch and let us know it probably just needed a battery. They also suggested a small watch repair store a few blocks away, who could take care of the battery at a very fair price. The employees were very kind and helpful. I spotted this ring during their annual sale in July and it was love at first sight; It was stunning -- but just a bit too big. The jeweler tried fitting it with a post to make it fit twice, but it was still just a little big. Without me asking, he offered to have it sent out to be remade just to fit my finger exactly. I just picked it up tonight, and could not be more pleased. It's more beautiful than I remember! If you have the opportunity to shop at William Harold Jewelers, do not pass it up. They have incredible one of a kind pieces and the people who work there are the best of the best. If i could give more than 5 stars, I would. During my search for the perfect engagement ring I visited several different jewelers. My search began with the large establishments, i.e. Zales, De Beers, Tiffany & Co., Robbins Brothers, Ben Bridge, & Others. At each store I went to I learned something new about what "perfect" meant to me. Part of that definition involved learning about the Four C's( Cut, Carat, Clarity, & Color ) of the diamond, determining the importance of each to my soon to be fiance, and weighing them all against the fifth C (Cost). After developing an understanding of my criteria, it was time to find it. I was almost immediately put off by the commission based and high pressure sales environments of the of the larger stores. Also, I didn't want to buy something so important to me at the Mall or from a store that has an advertisement that makes me change the radio station every time it comes on. I liked the price and selection on BlueNile.com but could not bring myself to buy something of this significance without ever seeing it and knowing it was perfect. I found myself going back to my roots and looking to local small business owners to provide the answer. Yelp helped to point me in the direction of several local jewelers. After meeting with them, I found that each could provide the environment that I was looking to buy in but ultimately, Ben at William Harold Jewelers was able to display a superior understanding and excitement for what I was looking for. I worked closely with Ben over the next several weeks, viewing multiple diamonds until the perfect one came in. After choosing the diamond, Ben helped me find the perfect band to complement the perfect diamond and then created the perfect engagement ring. The price was very fair, the service was above and beyond, and the environment was pressure free. Above all else, my fiance loves the ring. When I was starting to look for an Engagement Ring, I walked by William Harold Jewelers by chance. From the outside the store looks a bit old fashion, but they have some really interesting Jewelry for a broad reach of taste. The staff and especially the family who runs this business the 1960th know a lot about jewelry and gave me great advise. I shopped around for some other offers, but came to the conclusion that the ring they offered me was the best Bing for the buck (I even checked online diamond dealers). When I came back, I had the idea to go with a bit bigger stone and Tim Harold Jr (who I can really recommend), made a few calls and the next day they assembled me my perfect ring. Since then we came back and bought our wedding rings. A few days ago, I went back to look at their watch selection. After reading the reviews on Yelp, my boyfriend and I came here as our first stop for engagement rings. We were warmly welcomed by Donna, who brought out rings for us in our price range and gave us some great advice. I'm not used to buying or wearing jewelry of any kind, but she gave us a lot of assurance and also helped us figure out a better idea of what exactly we were looking for. My only complaint is that there is not a huge selection. However, the jewelry in there is very unique and beautiful and the selection changes very rapidly as they are always getting in new merchandise. And the personal and excellent shopping experience more than makes up for the small selection. Donna only works on Fridays, however, everyone who has helped me (I've gone on more than one occasion...I'm still shopping!) has been very helpful, attentive to the parameters of what I want, and has offered creative suggestions. Six stars. I happened upon William Harold Jewelers while visiting in Southern California and stopped in to get a new watch battery. Installing the battery was easy, but replacing the crystal proved problematic and required the use of a press, but the person who knew how to operate it was gone for the day. I was traveling on and couldn't come back to pick up the watch, so WHJ told me they'd finish the job and FedEx my watch to me at no extra charge. How nice! While in the store, I interacted with the staff and looked at the great estate items and new watches. I was just there for a battery but I was treated like a long-time and faithful customer ... which I'd become if I lived closer. THANKS WHJ! read more

We were looking for a vintage/estate engagement ring that "spoke to me" and visited William Harold, as well as the following stores in the area: Rambling Rose Estate Jewelry in Orange - amazing selection, great customer service, but high prices Corona Del Mar Jewelry Consignment - they didn't have much of a selection of what I was looking for at the time, but the customer service was good. Stock always changes so I would return here NOT recommended: OC Estate & Jewelry Company - not the best selection or customer service Watch & Wares - I had a worst experience here! Will NEVER return. Of the places I went, the best was William Harold. Ben was incredibly patient and understanding with my many questions regarding the engagement ring. They provide a thorough third-party appraisal that was accepted with my insurance company (I decided on Jeweler's Mutual) and made a lot of changes to fix the ring after purchase. I did have a negative experience with one of the women that worked in the store, but Ben corrected it all in time. I think if you are a young couple, you should ask for Ben. Overall, I would definitely recommend this store to my friends and family. The customer service was outstanding, selection was extensive and I've received many compliments on my ring. read more

I was honored by my son when he asked me to help him pick out a ring for his fiancee. We had been told by numerous friends that we should go to William Harold. In fact, the mother of one of our friends has known the owners for years. So, the week before Thanksgiving, we started our shopping experience. When we entered William Harold, I informed a lady behind the counter that we were on a mission and had been sent to them by their good friend, XXXX. They acted like they had never heard my friend's mother's name and didn't give us the time of day. After awhile, a young Asian lady (with an Hispanic surname) approached us and began one of the worst shopping experiences I have ever suffered. She proceeded to talk down to my son, discount his knowledge of diamonds, discount his thoughts regarding the design set forth by his fiancee, refuse to appraise the diamonds we were going to trade in for a small fraction of the purchase, and basically asked us to come back when we were ready. Ready? Really? We proceeded to leave the store and drove down to South Bay Jewelry in Aliso Viejo where we were treated with respect, dignity, and kindness. We ended up buying the ring that day and, much to my surprise, my son spent over $10,000 for something really special. The experience at William Harold would have me recommending that anyone avoid this place. Why anyone would want to have an awful experience like this is beyond me. We have since purchased several additional pieces from South Bay Jewelry and are very happy. I will never step into William Harold again. On top of that, we wanted a big and round Alexandrite with high quality color change. Tim was up for the challenge and helped us find the most gorgeous Alexandrite anyone has ever seen. I tried on rings that were $400 and I tried on rings that were $4,000 and they were all so cool! I didn't want to buy a ring from some random guy/girl in the mall that was just looking for a paycheck. I wanted someone who was in the business because they love what they are doing and they had a good reputation of exactly that. Randomly searching the web I cam across William Harold Jewelers and began reading the family history on their website. This was exactly the type of place I was looking for. Visiting William Harold Jewelers a few days later I was blown away with how nice the staff was and willing to help me find the exact ring I was looking for. They weren't like the typical salesman that I had dealt with at the previous stores. They knew what they were talking about and not pushy at all.
