From the moment I walked into Studio MD, I was blown away by how beautiful and welcoming the space is--but what truly makes this place special is the people. I came in nervous, especially knowing I was investing in cosmetic treatments, but Vanessa, the nurse injector, immediately put me at ease. During my Sculptra consultation, she took her time to really listen to my concerns and walk me through my options. What I appreciated most was her honesty--she didn't try to oversell anything and approached everything with professionalism, expertise, and care. I also had a consultation and treatment with Jaime for laser tattoo removal, and she is truly amazing. I love that because I don't feel like a number. Or a patient making a doctors appointment sitting in a waiting room to be seen. A little over a year ago I completed 9 treatments on my underarms for laser hair removal. I also did about 6 on several other areas. During my 9 underarm treatments the hair wasn't really going away, but thinning and growing a bit slower. I would have expected professional advice on why this was occurring. I have light skin and somewhat dark hair, but now all of my hair is about as thick as it was before I went in for treatments. Very disappointing given the time and money spent. :( read more

I think the only reason Im giving this rating a 2 and not a 1 is because the wonderful receptionist who was so kind and friendly. This was my first consultation ever for lip fillers. Ive wanted fuller lips for so long and finally got the courage to set up a consultation. There are obvious worries, concerns and questions going into something like this. I walked into the White Plains office and was instantly feeling at ease due to the kindness shown by the receptionist and the general welcoming aesthetic of the office. When it was time to meet with Dr. Khan I felt as though he wasn't really open to having a dialogue. He seemed a bit standoff-ish and it almost felt like he wanted to rush the consultation. I personally didn't feel comfortable asking the questions I had because the questions I did ask were met with short answers that weren't helpful at all. Maybe it's just me, but I guess my expectation was to meet a doctor who smiled at least once, welcomed questions and eased any nervous energy seeing as there are risks to any work you get done. If you're a newbie to fillers, I would say to go somewhere else. Maybe the city locations have doctors who create more of a welcoming environment. I think any doctor in this field should understand that if you're wanting to alter your appearance in any way, theres vulnerability and insecurity and they should be open to any and all questions you have going in. It's not even a bad experience, just a weird experience. Both times that I've been to the doctor's office, they've messed up the prescription. I'm not even sure that the doctors there are board certified. The first time I went, the doctor gave me a prescription for a medication I needed and put all 4 dosages on 1 script. Before I left, I said to the dr: don't you need to separate them onto 4 separate sheets of paper? The guy was like no it's fine. I went to CVS and they said "what is this? We can't accept this. We've never, ever received anything like this. What kind of a doctor writes something like this? So then I had to drive back like 30 minutes to him redo it. 2nd time, a few months later, the doctor didn't write the instructions (once per day, twice per day by mouth) on the script and at CVS, again, they said "we can't take this." This whole thing was a total mess and I spent the day tracking the doctor down to get him to write 3 words on the script. Again, I am convinced that these doctors aren't even real or board certified. Had good experiences with skin care, terrible experiences with injectables. This is the second time I was badly bruised by Dr. Kahn. I had a non-refundable deposit with Laser Touch, so I had to use it. Went back for Botox after years of avoiding. He didn't improve. This bruise is far worse than the last. It's a full eye shiner, as if I had been punched. It will take a week to heal. I'd post a photo if I could. Higher priced Botox, too. I typically pay 650 for 50 units (coverage of forehead, brows and eyes). He charged me 750.00 Avoid at all costs for injectables. read more

Jaime performed the laser hair removal and she was absolutely great. She was welcoming and made me feel comfortable, considering what was being done, right from the moment I walked in. I called to see if I had any remaining sessions from a package I had purchased and they gave me a whole song and dance about how long it's been since they had seen me and they're excited I'm coming back. Mind you, I had been three times (?) max. I thought it was odd how overly friendly they were and asked if maybe they had me confused with someone else. She reassured me she remembers me, etc, and that I have one or two sessions left. I asked if she can double check as it's odd to have an ambiguous number of sessions left. It should be a fixed number. She confirms two left so I show up for my appointment and immediately am greeted with "it looks like we had you mixed up with someone else and you don't have any remaining sessions but you can purchase a discount rate package for $$$$) It was so incredibly frustrating get time away from work, to drive all the way there, deal with the parking situation (there is none--pay for garage or pray for a street spot to open up within walking distance). I ended up leaving because it felt so "bait and switch". They get you in the door with some offer that doesn't exist and then "oops but here is our promotion for the exact laser you're looking for!) Side note: when they pull out a calculator to give you a price for something, it's never good. It means the prices they are giving you are completely arbitrary and they are just throwing a number out to see if it sticks. Don't waste your time with this place read more

I had a consult appointment about a week and a half ago. To their credit and for the purpose of a fair review, the doctor seemed knowledgeable and took the time to answer all my questions. The staff was also friendly. What I didn't appreciate was the doctor saying "so let's make your appointment whenever you have the money together". Considering I'd given no indication the cost of services was an issue (I actually didn't even ask abt the costs/the doctor offered) I found the comment tacky and assumptive. I was so shocked I didn't bother correcting the doctor nor did I bother to take on the burden of pointing out exactly what I do for a living, what I drove to the appt and why his assumption was ironic and preposterous considering those facts. I have a few theories as to the possible biases at play, but l will refrain from posting loaded assumptions... Suffice it to say, I booked my appointment the next day, at a different clinic. Very very happy what I'm doing at Lasertouch. I am working with Kara and she always does a great job with what I'm trying to accomplish. I am getting Fraxel done on a scar I got from a very scary episode with Melanoma. Getting rid of this scar makes me feel like it never happened. As for pain-levels and what not, the treatment is relatively quick and the numbing cream sure helps with all that. I'm also doing Carboxy for old stretchmarks. Due to a growth spurt at 12, I've had some on my hips and they've bothered me all my life. Sure, they were light but I like wearing bikinis and love one-piece bathingsuits with a very high leg. Watching these literally go away is a beautiful thing. Kara has a very grounded, easy-going personality so knowing each treatment isn't a walk in the park makes it a lot easier to get it done and feel good about it. Modern technology truly rocks I have to admit and to see two things that can be fixed to my liking is a greater joy than I can express. I did the fraxel 1550 for my forehead only......It really did not help my wrinkles very much, created more pores on my forehead and made skin look worse and they also left a permanent scar on my forehead which I am now going to have to go to a plastic surgeon to fix..........On top of that they only did six passes with the fraxel laser and I spoke to several doctors who perform fraxel and they said you are supposed to do eight passes with the laser. So in other words they charge you less but then shortchange you...........And it is not a doctor or even an APRN doing the treatment.......lesson learned......I would only have a highly skilled plastic surgeon touch your face.........Now I have to spend more money to fix the permanent scar they left on my forehead and feel even worse........ read more

I went in today for a Vi Peel. When I called the aesthetician to make the appointment she said they didn't have the "after care" kit you usually get but she would "give" me some retinoid cream that served the same purpose. The procedure was fine, but then afterwards she said that she would have to sell me the retinoid cream for $80. This was after paying $300 (plus a tip) for the service. It was very peculiar, and unethical. She insisted I wouldn't peel as much without the retinoid cream she wanted me to buy. When I asked her if they just had samples for me to take (in place of the after care towelettes one usually uses), she said she did not. i had a wonderful experience at this location last year, which is why I went back. This was a very very odd experience and I would not go back. It felt like a total shakedown. I wish she had just told me not to come in because they didn't have the proper tools to make this happen. One other very strange thing - after the procedure she talked about how well the Vi Peel works on darker skin tones, but not fairer skin tones because the peeling can last so long. She said, literally, "it works beautifully on mulatto skin like yours." A very very outdated word that is viewed today as racist and offensive. I don't think she meant ill at all as I am neither black nor white and she might not understand the meaning, but it is not a word commonly used. When I came back to the hotel and looked up more about Vi Peel aftercare (I left with no instructions at all and was given none), it sounds like the towelettes are an essential part of the procedure. This was my third time having a Vi Peel in my life and I'm just assuming I threw my money and time away on this one. All in all, this was not a great experience and very disappointing. read more

I d go to another place, especially if this is your first time having the treatment done. I dont feel the aesthetician here is knowledgeable enough about my skin. I m a southeast asian with brown skin. I had about four small dots under my eyes from pregnancy mask. I thought I would give fraxel laser a try to get rid of these dots. I went to its white plains location. They butchered my skin so bad that the whole cheeks that were treated has brush marks allover. Prior to the treatment, my cheeks are even toned with only those small dots under my eyes. I believe she had used a setting that was way too strong for my skin. South east skin tends to be thin compared to others. She told me its melasma that came off the surface. It didnt go away even a month after the treatment. I wanted to cry for my skin is much worse than before and it made discoloration spreads all over my cheeks like I m wearing bronzer but if you look closely its filled with brush mark. I decided to go to another place, consulted an MD who assured me to go with peeling to get rid of the fraxel marks allover my cheeks from this place. When I came back to show them the result, they told me to do more laser treatments to get rid of it, which I decided not to because the MD suggestion to stop and getting peel done makes more sense to me. read more

I'm 49 and I went in Dec 2017 and had two restylane syringes for my marionette lines and slight sagging on jowels. first of all, the place look like a construction zone, with plastic covering the walls and exposed brick. Dr. Khan made me feel like I was the worst case that he had ever seen and told me that two syringes were not really going to do anything. at $750 a pop, that was really all I had set aside for my first experience. I told him that I was concerned about breaking blood vessels with the needles and he told me not to worry. well, I have them now, courtesy to Dr. Khan on the right side of my face and I most certainly did not have them before. it was extremely painful and unpleasant and his demeanor and attitude made me feel superuncomfortable. the results were less than what I had anticipated, far less. I have since then been to another aesthetician who did the same procedure at a much lesser price with much greater results where I actually felt like a human being and not like an ATM. do not be fooled by the fake reviews, this guy is just not competent read more

The only person who I let do my laser treatments is Kara. She knows what she's doing. She has never burned me before and she is very nice, understanding & down to earth. I will not let someone else do any treatments on me as I do not trust them as much. I hate pain, and Kara makes sure I feel little to no pain at all. The hair removal treatments include cold air which really helps me calm down (I have anxiety), however if it's still very painful for you, she can make the treatment a lower setting or apply more cold air. Kara is nice enough to even put sunblock on your skin after hair removal treatments, so that the sun does not irritate your skin. She also gives you tips on what to avoid doing after treatments (ex: avoiding hot water & steam). She is the best person I've gone to for my treatments. If you are thinking about getting hair removal, i would reccomend you to get your treatments done by Kara. I have recommended this place to my aunt as well and she has not stopped coming ever since. Both of us have seen major improvements in terms of permanently removing hair. If I don't come back here, it will not be for a bad reason.
