I waited a couple of months to write this but I feel like if i can save someone else from my experience it will be worth it. I booked a deep cleansing facial with extra time for extractions. They took my credit card prior which was fine but puts me in a bad position later on. So I lay on the table and the facialist starts going over what I need done and tried to upsell me to a TRIPLE CHEMICAL PEEL. I have never had a chemical peel before and tbh I didn't think my skin was so terrible. When I express my hesitation and mention the service I booked for she told me she understood if I couldn't afford it but that the service I was getting wouldn't really do anything for me. I've had many facials in my life I can't imagine a deep cleansing facial with extra paid time wouldn't do anything. There's a non refundable deposit which I didn't want to lose so I forged ahead anyway and she was right. She didn't do much but steam and so a basic cleansing on my face with a few pore extractions. I was hoping to get laser facial hair removal here which i definitely did not do because of this horrendous experience. Not to mention the deep cleansing facial was over 150 dollars so it's not like i was skimping in the first place. It was totally uncomfortable and I wish i had spoken up in the moment but I felt like I'd lose money anyway and I'd already driven half an hour to get there. Bodicures is a lovely spa with fair prices & excellent service. Betty provides the best electrolysis service I have ever had (having gone to no less than 10 over many decades on and off in NYC & Westchester). I would not go to anyone else. I highly recommend this spa! Everything starts with the attitude, and the 2 owners (Margarite and Bette) have created a warm and welcome environment where everyone is friendly, but professional and nobody puts on airs. I went weekly for electrolysis and actually miss seeing everyone now that my visits are so seldom. It starts with their receptionist Linda, who is so friendly and accommodating that she always had my favorite coffee capsule ready to go when I walked in for my weekend appointment. I also loved that Marisa would call to confirm my appointment each week, and was always so polite. I have had Bette, Margarite and Mary for my sessions, and all 3 were great. Their technical skills can't be beat and their demeanor is lovely too. My daughter gets monthly facials with Beth and has been very happy, even compared with facials in NYC. While they offer many products for sale, they are not pushy at all. Their spa services are full-range, and they are always watching beauty and wellness trends to potentially add services that their clients are interested in, like their most recent addition of cool-sculpting. I can't say enough about the high quality of this salon's services and the lovely atmosphere. The prices are fair and they have plenty of parking in their lot behind the building too! A friend recommended Bodicures to me and it did not disappoint. When I walked in, the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. It's a big change from a large spa, but that's one of the things that makes it so warm. Jen did my massage. She was very good, but definitely tends to go hard with the pressure (and it was not a deep tissue), so speak up if you prefer lighter pressure. I was feeling pretty sore afterward and the next day, so I would definitely go lighter next time. Babal did my facial which I really enjoyed. She's very knowledgeable and super sweet. I first came here after placing the winning bid on a facial at an auction. I had never been a huge fan of facials in the past, but I was hooked after visiting Bodicures. To be fair, I had had basic facials in the past, but the one that got me hooked at Bodicures was the Advanced Repair Facial, which incorporates plant stem cells. The difference in my skin was like night and day. It really makes your skin radiant. In addition, Jen, is fabulous at giving advice on how to care for your skin and I love her honesty! I have been going to Bodicures for the past several years and wouldn't go anywhere else! I recently moved to Manhattan and continue to travel here and would recommend this spa to anyone looking for great results in both electrolysis and laser treatments. Everyone that works there makes you feel like you are at home and an enjoyable experience. Getting laser treatments or electrolysis could hurt but the professionals at Bodicures understand that and make it a very easy procedure. This is the first review I am writing on yelp. I used to go to this spa years ago and stopped when I moved to Manhattan. After numerous facials in Manhattan (from Mario Bedescu to Jillian Wright), I can honestly say Bodicures is one of the best spas in NYC or Westchester. Their staff is really nice and they really know what they are doing. For facials, I see Beth and she is fantastic. She incorporates a lot of massage into the facial and it is very relaxing.
