The 78th Street Studios is a huge arts studio that also has a theatre on the 2nd floor called the Blank Canvas Theatre. I visited for the first time probably in 2018 or 2019 then I came in 2023 and so on. I've attended their 3rd Fridays art event plus some plays at the Blank Canvas Theatre. It's always nice walking around 78th street studios. It can get a little overwhelming because the building is so big and you may get lost but just follow the signs posted on the walls to find out where you're going. I'll certainly be back. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 129/250 total reviews in 2026 - 970 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 17 June 2026

There is always so many people here, bumping into each other, and fighting over parking, so it is a bit overstimulating. But it is worth it as it is definitely one of the BEST places that host art festivals/fairs at least a dozen or so times a year. Support local and keep up the good work! My only suggestion is to avoid parking nearby and just walk to 78th Street Studios until they respray the parking lot lines and fill in some of the potholes...

Hilary was amazing. She listened to what we wanted, was easy to get a hold of, had great ideas. She and her team were extremely helpful, and with her guidance our wedding ended up being gorgeous. Hilary made wedding planning easy. The venue is unique, and cool and so many of our guests complimented us on our choice and said that they had never been to a wedding like ours. We had an amazing time and are so happy with our decision. We had 110 guests and that was the perfect amount of space- although smART Space is larger and could have accommodated more people we did not feel as if the space was too big. 110 was the perfect size for our ceremony and cocktail hour in HEDGE.

We scheduled an appointment to see the space in December 2018 and booked the location for the following November without looking at any other locations. What we didn't know at the time was that Hilary Gent and a team of absolute all stars were for hire to coordinate an event and wow can they put a wedding together. I'm someone that overthinks things to a fault and working with Hilary was nothing but calming. It was clear she has been doing this for some time, and her recommendations all support local Cleveland Vendors, which was a nice bonus as well. My wife and I had a collection of ideas for a wedding, but we were both stunned when walking into HEDGE the day of our wedding and seeing the work Hilary, Britney, and Aireonna did in under 24 hours. The room was elegant and used the Art on display, open ceilings, and brick walls to its advantage. The space felt like it was initially built for the purpose of hosting weddings, and what Hilary and her team can do with some eucalyptus, candles, and twinkle lights is nothing shy of astounding. The layout of the space was truly perfect. We were able to use a section in the front of the gallery to set up a buffet and bar area. This kept the food and drink service separate from the main space allowing our caterers to work without stepping on our guests toes. We had around 75 guests, which allowed for nine 10" round tables to fit in comfortably while having a separate area off to the side that could host the same amount of people dancing all at once. We actually used this setup for both our ceremony and reception, which allowed the process to be simple and everyone had a good view for our vows. We received nothing but compliments on the venue and layout all night. I really can't stress enough how perfect this space was. Our wedding was truly memorable and we owe a lot of that to Hilary's coordination. HEDGE itself is a really cool space to host an event, but it's the people behind the scenes that really make this space pop. The gallery felt like a guest that evening because it had so much life and was truly pleasant to just be in. We wish Hilary, Britney, and Aireonna the best moving forward, and highly suggest meeting with them to see what they can do for you at HEDGE Gallery!

My most recent…read morevisit--during the Secondhand Serenade show left me feeling unsafe in a way I've never experienced there before. While my friends and I were trying to find a place to stand, one of my friends was confronted by a couple who were upset that someone was standing in front of them at the show. Instead of simply expressing frustration, they escalated the situation by "transvestigating" her, accusing her (a cisgender woman) of being transgender, and making several derogatory and bigoted comments. It was completely inappropriate. I've always viewed Roxy as safe, inclusive spaces, so I immediately approached security. Both I and another person explained what happened, but the response we received was simply that they would "keep an eye on the person." Knowing that someone was allowed to behave this way without being removed made me feel extremely anxious and uneasy especially as a transgender person myself. I'm cis-passing and was fortunate not to be clocked, but the entire situation made me feel unsafe in a place I've always trusted. I hope the Roxy takes incidents like this more seriously in the future. Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected at shows, and bigoted harassment should never be tolerated.
