I originally left a more critical review because of some early frustrations around scheduling when I was on a different plan, but I want to acknowledge how much that shifted once I moved to the unlimited plan. It became so much easier to get into classes, and that accessibility has made all the difference in my consistency and progress. The Maple Valley location in particular has been incredible. Although, I havnt yet needed to explore other studios as I usually get into the classes I sign up for. The instructors are knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely invested in your growth. I've seen real changes in my body, like better posture, core strength, and flexibility, and I've become so much more aware of how I move and carry myself throughout the day. It's not always easy to find a fitness routine that feels sustainable, but this has become something I genuinely look forward to. I know Pilates isn't for everyone, but I would recommend giving it a shot. If you're in Maple Valley, you're in especially good hands. If you have been wanting to try it I would highly recommend trying out this studio!! I would recommend so many of the instructors too but my favorites personally are Mandy, Heidi, Jelena, Pia, Sunny, Sandy, and Rachel! I also love all the girls at the front desk!! Megan is especially knowledgeable and always had the answers I need!! If Tracy the traveling TX instructor is ever there, it's a MUST to take one of her classes or doing one workshop I HIGHLY recommend taking one of her classes!! I've only tried the mat classes so can't speak to their several other class types. There's always something new in the mat classes so never repetitive and target different strengths. Primarily only taken classes with Heather and really like her style! She's easy to follow and has a nice tone to her instruction. She's really flexible and nice about scheduling and using the package too. I've seen a few deals (Living Social & Groupon) around too so makes it more affordable to try out.

Hotworx was my favorite place to go for stress relief, detoxing, alone time after work and weekend peace. Now, I have to make myself go because I am paying for the membership and feel guilty if I don't go. It all has to do with the staff. I'm completely surprised by the way the owners have allowed this new manager to create social media with her tatas out every time she posts something. The content she puts out is just distasteful and her husband in every video- it's very off putting and not "on brand". It reflects poorly on the company. The other young man is social awkward and I don't feel comfortable with him. He doesn't know how to interact with people, he bombards new signees the minute they walk out of the sauna, right in the middle of the isle and immediately asks what membership they want? What a turn off! Yet, if he is close to his lunch hour or it's too soon to closing time and someone new wants to sign up, he tells them he's off and to come back tomorrow. I, personally, have never felt comfortable with him being there if I'm alone at the studio because of his awkward presence, lack of knowledge and social skills. I don't know how a business has gone through so many different employees in such a short period. Additionally, this new staff doesn't seem to have the work ethic to clean and maintain the same level of sanitation that the previous staff has always done. I've only seen them sit or stand at the front desk. I've had to clean broken toenails out of my sauna AND I had left my sweater in a cubby for a week and no one had noticed it!

Quick background on my personal pilates experience before discovering People's Pilates (they're new in town, opened in Dec 2022!): I tried pilates few years back for about two months (Bellevue Pilates), I did not like it mostly because of the atmosphere- small group in a quiet space, which is expected of this exercise because its low impact and focuses on strengthening and stretching your muscles. Yeah it was boring for me and I never looked back. Pure Barre was more of faster pace with upbeat energy for me so I stuck with it for 2+ years and it was great! Fast forward to 2023, I've been going to Orangetheory Fitness for 6 years now which is more of quick paced and I love it, but I've been looking to add something low impact, a workout that can help me relax my muscles and tensions in my lower-back from repetitive high intensive workout. People's Pilates have highly knowledgeable instructors, they will not bore you to fall asleep on that reformer. They have a comprehensive routine that is various, and I recommend starting off with "Intro to Pilates" class a couple of times, it will help you to be familiar with different parts of the reformer and discover pilates the right way. They also offer classes like Glide&Flow; and Strengthen&Lengthen that focuses more on specific type of workout to improve your unused muscles and help you get in right form. One thing I took away from my initial classes is that your body is going to keep fall in a way that is comfortable with, and that's not always the correct form. People's Pilates instructor helps you to focus on your form first, so that your spine is aligned correctly and that has been a huge help in relieving some tensions I've had in my lower back and glutes. The atmosphere is inviting and friendly so even if you've never done pilates before, its not intimidating at all. They also incorporate different equipment into each workout, so no session is the same as the one before. They offer variety of membership and class packages that you can purchase so that you can try as few classes as you like or as many as you like. Check out their website (or App!). I purchased 3 class pack and have done 4 classes so far, and I must say that I have a whole new perspective on pilates now. Lastly the instructors are super cool and they have a playlist that keeps me moving! No more of that zen pilates that I've tried to fit myself in.

We laughed and pushed through the class & she was very encouraging/personable which helped. I felt every part of my body activate like never before with any other exercise I've tried. I've done kickboxing in the past, but definitely enjoy this more even though I'm new to it. I try to do everything but the gym haha! So I'm so happy I gave this studio a try. They understood my reasoning and allowed me to attend the class. let me tell you using your own body weight to work out is not for the faint of heart. I feel as I received a full workout in that 30 minute timeframe the instructor was extremely knowledgeable and asked for permission if she needed to reposition any of us. I would happily join if the cost was more feasible, and I was going to be in the state longer than I am.
