I was very athletic up until my late 20's, but a series of injuries and too much time at the office had rendered me overweight, out of shape and suffering from chronic pain. I've currently been working with Rob for approximately four months and I have lost weight, drastically improved my strength and cardio status, and I have experienced more pain-free days than I had in the past year. Rob's athleticism is enhanced by his commitment to continuing education in sports medicine. He has an extensive understanding of the human body and biodynamics that has helped me to repair the dysfunction I was experiencing from old injuries and imbalances, while simultaneously getting me in stronger, better shape. Rob has a great variety of fitness equipment at his studio. Workouts are lively and fun (and hard, of course), and Rob does a great job of introducing new and dynamic exercises to keep the workouts from getting stale. In addition to the physical aspects of working with Rob, I also benefit from Rob helping me with goal-setting, diet, weight management and my routine outside of our sessions together. Not surprisingly, when you fix one area of your life, the others tend to follow. I know working with a trainer is more expensive than a low-end gym membership, but Rob's pricing is very reasonable for the quality instruction that you get. The way I look at it, I'm basically paying for guaranteed results. I highly recommend working with Rob--he has a great range--whether you're looking to get back into shape, or whether you're in top gear and want to take it to the next level, Rob at SYNRG has the knowledge and ability to get you there.

With constant support, attention to detail, thoughtful management of training components and a NO LIMITS philosophy, Rob has taken this mid-fifties mother of 3 from her living room to the summit of Mt Rainier, several California 14ers, and coming soon, to the top of Kilimanjaro! Flexibility, agility, balance and strength, Rob brings all the components together for an exquisite total package that is much greater than the sum of its parts. His in-depth understanding of human mechanics and comprehensive knowledge of training modalities, coupled with a genuine warmth and caring for others(that is incredibly motivating), make Rob unique in the world of fitness trainers. If you want to change your life but you don't know how to go about it; if you don't have time to build an efficient, effective and targeted workout program through research and study; if you want to see results you just can't believe, and see them quickly; talk to Rob at SYNRG Fitness. I linked up with Mel and did 5 training sessions with him: 3 heavy lifts and 2 high-intensity interval training days. With Mel, I didn't miss a step. His consultation was thorough and it was evident he understood fitness both in the gym and outside to include diet and rest. Then out workouts were focused on accomplishing my stated goals. For weights, he was able to set up excellent workouts that utilized the great equipment in the resort gym. For HIIT, he set up some smoker circuit training in a nearby park and brought his own battle rope, TRX, sandbag, kettle bell and other goodies. Was amazing. Mel is also super focused on form as well so no injuries even when we went heavy. Cannot recommend him enough. I've always been into aerobic exercise and thought I was doing enough strength training, but I still developed osteopenia. So I decided to give The Strength Studio a try. I was concerned about injury, since I had injured myself before with heavy gardening, various sports and using gym equipment without the input of a personal trainer. The highly educated and trained staff at The Strength Studio reassured me that with their input and the medical grade equipment I had nothing to fear. I was a believer after 6 weeks because I felt so youthful and ready for any challenge. Then I started noticing less back and neck pain. I had done years of physical therapy, which helped considerably but never "cured" me until I had the muscle strength to support everything they were showing me. I came off of an injured knee that took over a year to heal and being currently overweight and not having maintained any sort of normal exercise, I was super hesitant, but Perry said I should give it a try. She is absolutely wonderful. I've taken two private trainings with her ... for the first 20-30 minutes or so we talk through body mechanics and some extremely helpful foundational health-related items (that helped me to understand my body better and why I was feeling unbalanced and not capable of the type of movement that Pilates requires). It's actually just so incredible how many muscles we have that we don't actually use and that we should be using... We took it slow with the different movements (and use of the equipment) and I can honestly say that I would rate my time with her a 12 on a 10 scale. I never expected to walk away from these classes thinking "wow I can't wait to go back" but I have totally felt that way. Call Perry and start your new "exercise life" today!! You'll be so glad you did - she makes it soo easy to love Pilates.
