I thought I'd work with Ali for 30 minutes and our interaction would be over until the next session. But Ali's support and encouragement doesn't stop when our session is over. She genuinely cares and wants to know how I'm doing both physically and emotionally outside of the gym. When we started talking about nutrition I thought oh here it comes, I'll never be able to eat anything that tastes good ever again. I was so wrong. Ali has taught me to have a healthy relationship with food. I didn't have to go on some crazy diet and half starve myself or drink weird "cleansing" potions. I made moderate modifications to my diet and started drinking a lot more water. Pretty simple, so doable and it has made a huge difference in the way I feel. When I first started training with Ali doing even simple exercises was a challenge. She created a plan that addresses my specific needs and imbalances. A year ago I couldn't even get into a plank position and doing a pushup was impossible. Now a year later, I can deadlift 110lbs, flip a giant tire, swing a 16lbs sledgehammer, curl 30lbs and so much more. I'm doing things that I never thought I'd be able to do and I am having fun! In the pandemic days, it was the motivation to move my body when I just wanted to lay down all day. As I made incremental improvements and started moving regularly, the focus shifted to other aspects of my life that were related to movement: nutrition and sleep The important questions started-- why am I showing up to my workouts exhausted? Am I sleeping enough? How do I juggle the many different aspects of my life-- personal, work, caregiving, networking, etc? Am I eating enough? Am I eating regularly? Why do I go from 0 to 100 and go from not working out at all to workout out so much I could potentially get injured? We also focused on different types of movement: mobility, strength training, working on the areas of my body like my back and wrists that had sensitivities, stretching, and setting me up for success for things like run club. I learned about hormones and having my life style be adjusted to my menstruation cycle (more difficult strength training workouts during ovulation, focus on stretching and walking during luteal phase) It has been an incredibly challenging journey to face all of these aspects of my life and have these mindset shifts day by day and now year by year, but I know that I have Mari cheering me on and by my side every step of the journey to guide and support me. I'm thankful that I got my decision right on my first try! I was attracted to the number of classes and variety of classes that Lifestyle Pilates offers. Being a first timer to Pilates, I was only interested in going to a studio that offered multiple levels and was smaller in size. Lifestyle Pilates met all of my criteria. The instructors are fantastic. Everyone is friendly, professional and highly knowledgeable. I highly recommend this studio!

Instead, she kept charging me for the first faulty app as well as for the second app (which also barely works). Now I'm being charged twice a month for a subscription I canceled, Sarah has stopped responding to my emails after never sending the refund, and seems to have taken down the phone number off Luna's website. So she's stolen about $100 from me and effectively disappeared. Bizarre behavior. I'm having to spend hours chatting with Apple Wallet to get my money back.

Susie started our sessions together with discussions on lifestyle and fitness goals. With her welcoming personality, training with her is more like two friends rather than a drill sergeant barking commands.
