I'll admit, I was pretty nervous going in since I hadn't had a haircut in years. My hair is straight, flat, and typically hard to style, and I was hoping to add some volume and soft curls but wasn't sure what would actually work. Hanh immediately put me at ease with her warm, funny, and welcoming personality. She's genuinely so kind. During the consultation, she really took the time to understand what I wanted and helped refine my ideas into something even better. I walked away feeling confident and excited instead of anxious. I showed her a few inspiration photos, and she didn't just match them--she completely exceeded them. She absolutely nailed the look, even better than I imagined. The appointment lasted 7 hours, yet at no point during that time was I informed that the cost was progressively increasing. Only when the service was completely finished and I was about to be blow-dried did Irma suddenly tell me the price was now $500 because it took longer and required more product. That is not transparency. Transparency would have been informing me the moment the service was exceeding the quoted price and giving me the opportunity to approve the additional cost or even giving me a range at the beginning contingent on time/product used. Instead, I was presented with a final amount 75% higher than originally quoted after all the work was already done, leaving me with no real choice but to pay it. A quote that almost doubles without any discussion until checkout is unacceptable. Clients deserve better communication and basic respect when it comes to pricing.

I was given a quote, and I made an appointment I sat down and things were well, then when she styles my hair the color is very warm and yellow. She asks me what I think and I tell her it's quite yellow. Kay then said, "yeah you wanted something brighter but this is the color we can do for today." If you know you will not be able to do something for a customer, you should not give them a quote and perform a service, expecting them to be happy by the end of it. I brought up my dissatisfaction, and I was met with three options, 1. Go darker 2. Pay yet another $270 to get what I wanted in the first place, bringing the total to $540 3. Get the tip returned to me and she will keep the $270 for the service. In the end I had to settle for getting the tip money back as she was not understanding how what she did was improper and basically scamming. After she even admitted to her lack of professionalism by not telling me it could not be don This was extremely weird because I paid $270 for something I didn't even want nor is remotely close to what I asked for.
