More recently, we enjoyed "Frozen" and "Come From Away" and are excited for many of the upcoming shows for the season! The production quality for this mid-size theatre is excellent! The theatre is not huge, but there are many seats to fill. We have sat in rows Q, R, and S, and the views are still great! Seats are relatively comfortable and easy to find as well. Show prices will vary on where you sit, but it does feel intimate enough to connect with the actors wherever you sit. Even though we live nowhere near the area, La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts has become one of our favourites. Additionally , the parking lot is huge due to the many businesses in this plaza, and we've always been able to park relatively near the theater. Plenty of food options here, too! We will gladly drive the extra miles to support the arts and enjoy musical theatre in La Mirada!

The staff is very friendly and really encourages supporting other dancers, love that. Felt very welcomed coming in for the first and only time unless more friends decide to workshop. Floors are a bit slippery but of course no street shoes should touch the floor however this was a pop up workshop so the shoes were definitely on the floor. This is my first and probably only time here so I'm only going based off my one experience here and nothing really blew me away. I do understand that this isn't a regular dance studio, it's more for kids and performative dance. Great staff though.

This will be our second competition season with them and we are excited to have our dance family there to support us. I want to say that the theater holds maybe 75-100 people...? Comfy seats and every seat is a great view. Prices are great, our last show was $39 each. The actors are fun and you can tell they absolutely love doing what they do. They are there to make everyone happy including themselves and their fellow castmates. There is a bar with drinks and snacks, we've even seen shirts for sale! We are considering purchasing a "B Season Pass" so we don't miss out on the shows this coming year, some sell out fast! I hate to even give a great review because I don't want people to buy up all the seats from under us, but yet I want to also give this theater a huge and happy round of applause for being FANTASTIC!! We will see you again soon! Cheers!

Mango Fest on August 30, 2026, was a hit--and hotter than the sun!…read more Hosted by Ube Fest in the parking lot of the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, this event was free to attend, which is always a win. Music was blasting throughout the festival, creating a fun atmosphere, but be prepared for long lines for both ordering and food pickup. Most vendors were cashless and accepted credit cards, Zelle, or Venmo, although some did take cash. A few vendors even made the long trek down from the Bay Area. The biggest challenge was definitely the heat. It was a hot day, and the event could have used more shaded areas. Lots of people gathered around the tables to cool off, while others were there to actually eat. The food was okay overall, but I'm hoping to try the BBQ next time around. My favorite was the Mango Crumble halo-halo from D Baker's Lab--definitely worth trying! Prices can add up quickly, so I'd recommend going with friends and sharing dishes. That way, you can sample more without spending a small fortune. Heads up: the sticky rice line was REALLY long. If you're driving, bring a cooler with plenty of water. You'll save money on drinks and, more importantly, stay hydrated while you're out in the heat. Overall, a fun free event with plenty of food, shopping, music, and mango-filled treats. Just come prepared for the heat and the lines!

Snacks and drinks are available to purchase; wine, beer, cheese/crackers, candy, chips, water. Bathrooms are plenty and clean. But let's get to the auditorium, shall we??? It's so adorable and fancy! The architecture in this place is beautiful, although kinda funky too with it's bright colors. The first time I walked in, I literally was amazed. It feels like a "big league" playhouse, yet it is small and quaint at the same time. Seats are very comfortable with legroom and not a lot of "pardon me, 'scuse me" issues since it is laid out with short rows. I've literally sat in the vey back row of the main level and was able to see and hear perfectly! Kudos for the acoustics. The temperature in the auditorium is also comfortable; not too hot, not too cold. A wide variety of performers at the Shannon Center! Plays, musicals, entertainers, all music genres! Check out the Hawaiian series too. Need something artsy and entertaining to do? Check out their website and see all the upcoming acts.... you may just have your next date planned! Wonderful job Whittier College! Shannon Center is only list of places to "go to" when looking for something to do. CHEERS!

Came here on a rainy Sunday afternoon to catch the Whittier College Department of Theatre's…read moreproduction of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) and was more than pleasantly pleased by both the venue and the comedic performances. While, yes, I am a biased and proud aunt of the female lead, I was still able to cast my biases aside and review the venue as a whole. That said, my niece rules, my niece rules,my niece rules. First off, the parking was super convenient, free, and located on the same lot and block as the theatre. The ticket prices were fair, as they went for $15 bucks a pop. Not too shabby for 2 hours of live entertainment all while supporting the college theatre department. The theatre was on the larger end of the small side. I'm not too sure if there's a larger stage, but the one that we were in seemed to suit the play nicely. I enjoyed that aspect because I really got to appreciate the nuances of each performance, attention to detail, and engage in the communal aspect of being part of a live audience. Good stuff. Oh yeah, the restrooms were also pretty big. On the downside, I wish there would've been more variety at the snack bar during intermission. Not a big deal. Go eat after the performance at one of the many local restaurants nearby. Also, the seats were padded chairs, so be sure to shift your position after some time. Overall, loved it! It's a shame I hadn't attended any previous productions, but rest assured that I'll be returning for more. Support the kids, support the arts!

All of the actresses did amazing, only factor I didn't love was the exaggerated accent by "Carmen", I understand wanting to sound more authentic and play into it but it wasn't very fitting and all the other actresses used their real voices and they still sounded very latin and true to the story. Would definitely recommend this show for anyone who loved the film. Few things to keep in mind: Theater is small, but lots of parking! To drink a beverage inside the theater you have to purchase a 5$ sippy cup (not bad) The vending stand prefers cash or Venmo All seats are good seats bc it is a smaller venue

Despite being small they made use of the stage and aisle. There was even some audience interaction. The theater is dated and could use an update but it's great for a small play, almost like a high school auditorium or 90s movie theater. They do ask you don't use your phone because of the phone lights during the show and there's no recording but there was no one enforcing it which was annoying because people kept bringing their phones out and the glare ruined the mood of the show. Overall it's good to support them. They did a great job especially with stage decoration and I was truly impressed with their young talent.
