Amy Jo Berman has been a CD, she knows exactly what CD's are looking for, and she delivers her knowledge in the Unstoppable Actor audition sessions. Last year I auditioned for too many roles to count but received ZERO callbacks. I enrolled in Unstoppable Actor and this year I'm averaging 2-3 callbacks a week! I cannot thank Amy Jo Berman, & her fabulous team, enough for providing a program that teaches actors how to audition, catch the attention of CDs, & LAND THE ROLES! read more

I started with her Rockstar academy training then added the mindset program she has. I actually really love Amy Jo. She is incredibly thorough and grounded. Even the most seasoned actors can get a lot out of the programme. I have been working as a professional actor since the 90's, on camera and in voice over. I had been out of class for many years because I was just not connecting with the classes. Amy Jo is something else. Her years as a casting director really Bring another dimension. And her mindset classes are a completely unique thing I wish I had been taught years ago. I know the marketing can be a bit much for some but I promise you she REALLY IS ALL THAT... a truly great teacher. I'm super happy I joined the ongoing unstoppable actor membership. There is a good range of people in the class, Some people that just blow my mind and others that are starting out or coming back after a long break. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

Amy Jo Berman's phone number does not work, and whenever a client attempts to contact her they get added to a mailing list that continues to spam their email inbox. After purchasing her products, I've come to the conclusion that they offer no help in building an acting career, or in developing relationships with working casting directors. I would advise fellow actors to avoid paying money for this business's services, as they do not offer a return on investment. read more

Auditioning is a whole other skill set. I've been a session director for a commercial casting house, so I got to see a ton of great actors all making the same choices. And in commercials, the final select is really based on your look. For film and tv, that's not usually the case. When you get in that room, they want to see you and what makes you YOU, and how that's different from everyone else up for the same role. The Audition Rockstar Academy, which I'm going through right now, is a very helpful series of strategic tweaks to layer into your prep. IF it works for you. But I'll tell you, I see a lot of things in this class that will make a difference, in your thought process, in your execution. You want to book the room, if not the role outright. This course helps you book the room. read more

Amy Jo is the perfect mentor coach! I've taken a couple of her courses and always walked away feeling grounded. Her presentation is organized and structured so there is no wasted or unfocused time. Given her vast experience, she knows what works and what doesn't and has a keen eye and lightening fast observations. She was a fantastic casting director and it is through her real love of actors that she has created a framework to develop an actor's career through steps that are broken down like math problems so there is no guessing, Her style is upbeat and fun, but can be spiritual at times, and I especially love the occasional group mini meditations myself! The next level membership provides a supportive home base community that bonds, challenges, nurtures, and inspires the 3 - C's : Craft, Confidence, and Connections. read more

Amy has vast knowledge of casting and the industry, and at the heart of it all, she truly has a love for actors. Her passion for genuinely wanting us to succeed is present in every coaching session (NL group on facebook). She's always present, engaged and ready to help us, whether it's answering our questions, directing mini-scenes, guiding us through empowering mediations, or treating us to an inspiring guest speaker from the business. The safe and encouraging space she has created for actors is invaluable, no matter what stage of your career you're in! read more

I like her free seminars. I'm a stand up comic, but she gives sooo much information on the free seminars

Amy is so inspiring and her real-world tips from the POV of a casting director are priceless. Highly, highly recommend.

During this time it's difficult for us actors to stay busy & productive. This has been a great time to polish my craft & make sure I'm in tip top shape for when the world opens back up & filming begins again. I love the way Amy breaks down the most important information that every actor should know. I am a seasoned actress and I still learn something and/or feel like I'm getting better with each workshop/workbook. I love the material & Amy is a gem! read more

Amy has created a safe place for actors to learn and grow in the business. She really cares about her students and wants you to succeed. She has created a community of actors that are supporting and cheering on each other in the Next Level Group. She hears you when you have questions, and she tells you the honest truth. She guides you on the path and gives you specific steps to tackle. She inspires networking among participants, and goal-sharing is big, too. It's great to be part of a group that is continuing to move forward. The Audition Rockstar course explains all parts of the audition from when you receive your script, to following up with the casting director. She explains the many traps that are in the scripts, and gives specific solutions for them. She walks you through how to stand out in your audition in the best possible way. So many aha moments in this one! The Branding for Actors course walks you through how to figure out your brand, and then how to use it. She is concise on how to do this, and the way she explains it makes so much sense. I wish I found this program 5 years ago! read more

Amy is an enormous wealth of information and support. We all know there is not a shortage of coaches in LA; what sets Amy apart for me is the fact that she was VP of Casting at HBO for 14 years! Not a small feat. It's pilot season right now so lots of us are running around from audition to audition, and I can tell you from experience that there is a HUGE difference in the auditions that I get to coach with her and the ones I don't, that's not just my perception, it is also reflected in the Casting Director's feedback that my manager gets from them. Sometimes I'll prep an audition prior to going to Amy for coaching and I think, yup I got this ones, and once we start coaching she opens up possibilities in the performance that never occurred to me, she helps me see things in a new light and that's great and good in and of itself, but the best thing I like about it is that I learn a new skill, a new way of looking at the material and auditions in general. I mean it's great to have someone direct you but what happens when they are not there to direct you, you can't couch every single audition, but with Amy you learn a skill which helps you grow as an artist and that is a very rare thing to find. Highly recommend you coach with her if you get a chance and definitely get plugged into her online trainings. read more

I'm a better actor because of Amy's Audition Polish. I've had several audition polish sessions with Amy and I'm a much better actor because of it. She sees things in the script that I don't so I make better and more interesting choices, works on my technique and if necessary fast drills to get me out of a pattern - all in one session! I've taken other courses with Amy as well and as a result, my career is on a much faster track. So grateful. read more

I really appreciate Amy's approach to her online classes. They are a great combination of practical advice and uplifting messages about being an artist and getting out of your own way. I am new to LA and needed guidance. While searching for the person with the best expertise, I found Amy Jo Berman. I spoke to other firecrackers in the industry, however I did not feel they were the right move. I listened to a few free webinars with Amy and knew right away that her beliefs and knowledge in the industry far surpassed her colleagues. Amy has helped me not only in my career, but in my quality of life. Before I was embarrassed to tell people I was an actor due to their judgements and limitations they placed on me. Now, after 2 of Amy's electrifying classes and an in depth Career Consultation, I am reworking myself to have that acting career I have always felt in my soul. I would recommend Amy highly to anyone in the business. She is very approachable and willing to help. I am looking forward to showing the industry what talents I have to offer and taking my first step of many on the red carpet. read more

Love love love this woman! She has made an enormous difference in the way I approach EVERYTHING in my career. Her wealth of knowledge and expertise coupled with her passion to help actors succeed in their careers was a game changer for me. What Amy teaches goes beyond auditioning skills. She teaches us to be the whole package, inside and out. She breaks everything down to create the mind set of a successful working actor. As an audition coach, she has the ability to dig deep and extract a level of performance out of her actors that we never knew possible. Every single one of her webinars are insightful and inspiring. She's brilliant. I moved to LA from NY and I was completely overwhelmed with how to go about breaking into Hollywood. I floundered, I procrastinated and I fretted for an entire year. Then I met Amy Jo Berman. I now go about my job as an actor with ease and confidence, all thanks to the tools that she teaches. I would have never been able to figure this stuff out on my own. Now, everything is a joy... acting, auditioning, networking, my entire career. Clearing all that clutter in my head has made all the difference, leaving a freedom and openness to create without judgment. I highly recommend her both as an audition coach and a marketing/business guru. And she's from HBO. The pinnacle of television. How does it get any better than that? read more

I first heard of Amy from a former employee of hers who INSISTED I have a one on one with her. I had been acting then stopped for a few years. This business changes so fast I needed and wanted to get myself together! I had a consult with her and she definitely opened my eyes on what I needed to do to up my game and be taken seriously in this business. I did what she said. I also watched her, webinars, YouTube and Facebook videos. I also purchased some of her videos and within a year and a half, I had an agent and a manager from using her techniques. And overall, I just have a better understanding of the BUSINESS. I don't know her, I have nothing to gain I just want people to not waste precious time when they can learn from Amy! read more

As an actor navigating the often confusing, sometimes intimidating, world of online "industry experts," who offer to provide career guidance, the array of choices can be daunting. Luckily, for those of us smart enough to recognize true authenticity and expertise, there is Amy Jo Berman. As VP of Casting at HBO for 14 years, Amy possesses a seasoned veteran's knowledge of the film and television industry, knowledge she shares in her webinars and in-person events for a reasonable fee, and quite often on Facebook and other online platforms for free! There's a reason it's called show "business," and I can't imagine trying to run my business without the deep insider's view and outstanding instruction Amy provides. As one among many, who more than lives up to her stellar reputation, Amy Jo Berman is proof positive that sometimes cream does indeed rise to the top. read more

I'm not a newbie, not naive, no stars in my eyes, kid. I've been in the business for a while, acting classes for years, in showcases, attended workshops, seminars, read books, attend plays, been on stage, on TV, feature films, commercials, but- I just found myself mentally dead in my tracks. I was stuck. And then I found Amy Jo Berman. I admit it, I was more than skeptical. Like I said- I've been to many workshops and seminars... it's a jungle out there- so beware. However, so many people had great experiences with her, I decided to dip my toe in the water to see what I could see. Understand this- it isn't your standard classroom, with just the does and don'ts, insider tips and opinions and info you can look up on-line. Amy takes you to a place where you can stop your self-destructive thinking- quickly. She'll show you how to end your self-sabotaging belief system and then recreate a new belief system that will serve you, not only in this business but also for the rest of your life. And then show you how to move forward with powerful confidence, direction and possibilities. Amy brings information and facts from the inside of the industry, she's someone who was there (VP @ HBO Casting). She puts everything on her website for future reference, not to mention she threw in a freebee Q&A session just because she felt it could help us. Even my family and friends have noticed a positive change in me, a more creative energy and focused drive, no more negative-complaining, no more stinkin' thinking. It's not a coincidence that I've been experiencing some amazing changes in my life and career since attending Amy Jo Berman's Pilot Season Domination. I highly endorse her. Thank you Amy, from the bottom of my heart. You know the secrets, thanks for sharing them with us. Oh, and I've got a super support group because of her as well. read more

Just listen, even if you don't agree with everything, I know you will agree with who the problem really is! Don't pass up on what this great person has to say. I cannot say enough about Amy. She has helped me navigate the industry on both coasts. Her knowledge, her approach, her insight, her experience are priceless for both new and veteran actors. I echo what other reviewers have said about Amy and audition prep. I will think I am prepared for an audition, do a quick 20 minute prep with her and I find that am looking at the character in a new light and making choices that hadn't even crossed my mind. Plus her audition polish program is a really economical way to get one-on-one coaching with her. Like most actors, I have taken classes at various studios--some great, some not so great. What's different about Amy is that she places a great deal of importance on an actor's mental state. I notice that I feel inspired and excited after we meet-- it's really pretty amazing (and critical given all the rejection we actors face!). Bottom line: Get to know Amy Jo Berman--whether you read her blog, friend her on facebook, visit her website, call into one of her free webinars, or coach with her privately. You will definitely see an immediate impact on yourself and your career. read more
