I have been to see Jane a number of times after reading all the positive reviews here. My results have always been awesome! I have never called her. always scheduled appointments via email and I have always gotten extremely fast replies. Her prices are SO much better than most other salons for better quality, so I have no problem with the lack of a receptionist. I get my eyebrows threaded and a Brazilian wax every visit and I love the results. I look great and Jane accomplishes it quickly and fairly painlessly. I found out my friend goes here and she told me Jane does referrals only so if you are reading these reviews thinking "wow I have to get an appt," unless you know someone here, forget it. My friend asked me if I said I knew her and I said no because I didn't even know she went to Jane! She said Jane was standoffish until she heard someone referred her as well. If she had just responded to my email saying "Sorry I'm so full. I only take referrals," I might have been less pissed. That's what Dot used to do at Ten Pachi. Instead, she thinks she can just ignore her answering machine and inbox. Apparently I have an "in" now but I'm not even interested anymore. I'm writing this review for everyone else. Not her. If you don't know someone who knows her, she doesn't care about your business, what you think or even to respond to your messages. Don't sit around with bad brows waiting. I've been seeing her to get my eyebrows threaded for almost three years now, Brazilians for just over a year, and she's a miracle worker. This place is a hidden away gem in the back corner of a strip mall but thankfully Jane made sure I knew I was headed the right way the first time. Just as all the other reviewers have said....Jane is the best! I went for my first brow threading the other night and I am an instant fan. I loved that Jane took the time to give me the 4-1-1 on how eyebrows should be shaped (and it didn't hurt that she kept telling me how perfect my brows were, not to brag or anything). I thought about giving this place four stars but then I didn't know why I would do that. I thought that maybe I was one of those who never would give full credit to anyone unless their service was exemplar and I felt Jane actually did all that. I had my first ever Brazilian from a stranger and Jane made me feel at ease. Being in the medical field and seeing a whole lotta of genitals didn't make me feel all that much more confident about someone else seeing my genitalia. However, Jane made me feel so comfortable and she just kept me engaged in conversations about the most mundane things....but she made me talk. I'm a very introverted person and to get someone to make me talk....now that takes a lot of effort. Jane just felt like my confidant, my psychiatrist (which btw I do not have nor need) and she kept me talking to take my mind away from the pain. Which...let's talk about the pain. No doubt about it, it wasn't a painless procedure but it was very much short lived. I left feeling very satisfied, as if some weight was removed from my shoulders (actually probably my nether region) and I felt a bit more empowered from the conversation we had. Definitely would recommend her to any of my friends or family members! Now, I believe Jane only responds via text message or email and I texted her on the day of service and she was able to squeeze me in a couple hours after our interaction. She is very, very reasonable in terms of pricing and does only take cash or check but I felt my response was very prompt! Her pricing (which I found out was on homepage as well) is the cheapest I have ever seen with this type of service. And it only took maybe 15-20 mins. See Jane. Do her thing. So worth the trek up Aurora to Saely's beauty salon to find this jem of an esthetician. I'm going back for a facial and might even attempt more "intimate" waxing. Jane is hilarious and down to earth and does a great job on making your Frida fearsome eyebrows look more like eyebrow model eyebrows. (That's what I was told I had and I don't mind the flattery - extra points for her.) It's way more affordable and easier to book an appointment than these other sugar wax places that are all the rage. She does threading and regular waxing as well. I have coarse, dark, difficult to remove hair, and I have tried every type of hair removal trick in the book: shaving, nair, waxing, epilating, sugaring... and finally, just no longer giving a fk what people think and letting it all grow out. I have a couple events coming up and decided just to get waxed. Gave Jane a try b/c she was nearby and had good reviews. I'll probably never get waxed anywhere else again. I think it was the most painless and detail-oriented waxing experience of my life! My leg hair grows in a kind of unique swirl pattern, and Jane was attentive to waxing with the direction of hair growth, not just tearing hair out in strips like others have. This level of attention could have taken longer to do, but she did it in the same amount of time as every other wax I've ever gotten. She was super knowledgeable and skilled, not to mention just INCREDIBLY sweet and friendly. I left not just having the best wax of my life, but feeling better informed about my hair. I went to see Jane today for my first threading experience, it was the BEST thing ever!! I am taking medication both oral and topical for skin and so I can't wax anymore. I never really liked waxing in the first place so threading was amazing! It feels so clean and looks great. I have never had a Brazillian done before but I am going to Greece for a month and decided its time. I searched yelp and found this amazing lady Jane. She made me feel so comfortable and it was very quick. She is straight to the point and a very down to earth person(not to mention intelligent also!). Jane is simply the best. I've been seeing her for a few years now after a friend's recommendation and she does a dynamite job threading my brows. She goes for a natural but clean look; not super thin lines that looks drawn on with a pencil (like other places). When I first starting getting my brows done with her, she recommended letting them grow out a bit more, so she could shape them in a more natural (and attractive) way; and they did look so much better since then. She is one busy lady, so getting last minute appointments are pretty challenging, but not necessarily impossible (though if you were hoping for a weekend appointment, I'd probably book at least 1-2 weeks in advance, maybe longer). Weekday appointments seem easier to get, so that's what I usually go with. The people that gave bad reviews below look like people who never got to experience her magical skills. Yes, it can be hard getting an appointment (especially if you're new, she has tons of clients already), but they really should cut her some slack because she is a one-woman show who is beautifying thousands of women (and probably some men too). I like the fact that she makes it a point to keep her overhead low (example: no front staff) because it keeps her prices more reasonable. I'd say she provides a higher quality service than most high-end spas, at a lower cost than those places. **Just a note for those who get to be a new client, I did have a hard time finding the place the first time around (mainly because I didn't actually have the address # on me). It is tucked in the corner without a sign, but if you drive into that little shopping area, it's the one next door (to the Right) of Allstate. Also she only accepts cash and check, which I didn't know the first time (but I think I was able to swing it with enough spare cash in my car), so be sure to have that readily available. It's been about 7 years since the last time I waxed my legs, and I am so glad that I discovered Jane! She was able to get me in next day, managed to do it in about 15 minutes, and my legs are smooth and happy. Look no more for the best waxer in Seattle. Jane is IT. I went to multiple waxing salons trying to find the best and I will never go anywhere now besides here. Jane is absolutely wonderful. She is kind, hilarious, and very good at distracting you from the pain. She does an excellent, thorough wax and I've never been anything less than overjoyed with the results. The appointment with her was shorter than most of my others. She is extremely quick. Waxing will always include pain but the amount of pain I experience with her is on the low end as far as waxing goes. I was so impressed the first time, and she is incredibly consistent. I've had my fair share of eyebrow jobs (plucking, waxing, sugaring) and Jane by far gave me my best eyebrow experience to date. The eyebrow threading I had done for $10 was excellent! Jane knew her stuff and crafted my brows perfectly to fit my face. She was also willing to work with my schedule in order to get me in last minute. Jane is the best when it comes to Brazilian waxing . Not only is it $45 which is VERY affordable, she makes sure she gets all the hair and she's really friendly too. I've had plenty of horrible reactions to wax at other places, but I've never had an issue with the wax used here. Safe to say my vagina has seen it's fair share of estheticians, but Jane is by far the best waxer I've had.
