I went to go see Lisa and she is an artist! My sister is a hairdresser as well but she lives in LA so unfortunately I don't have her as a hairdresser. That being said, sister-approved hair is hard to come by! But for the first time after seeing 3 different people, my sister liked Lisa's work! Lisa worked on my hair diligently for 4.5 hours and I am so grateful for her work ethic and patience on my stubborn asian hair. I wanted to go for a grey balayage while fading into my roots and she executed it (and it's hard to do asian hair since mine is so thick and dark)! She even fixed a not-so-great haircut I had from a previous stylist. Bottom line: she is super sweet with lots of experience and will make sure you walk out with perfect hair! I went back recently after Sorine reached out to me..twice! She was so sincere I couldn't pass her up on the offer of a re-do. And it was great this time around. A lot more/better communication about the waxing I wanted done and what she was doing. I also like how she has you lie on your side and bend your leg for doing the backside, instead of, you know, getting on all fours... That's just awkward. I'm all about giving people second chances, but I don't think I'll be coming back which makes me super sad. Lisa is a really great person don't get me wrong, but I don't know if she had something against me. I never went to a salon to get my hair bleached or colored before. I wanted to get to a sliver, and I know it's a very hard color to achieve in a single session, however Lisa said she can do it for me. The first time she did great and my hair faded into a very light blonde that I enjoyed. So I decided to come back to get my hair lightened for that type of blonde. When I got there she said she can get my whole head white blonde with dark roots. I have done my own hair before and I definitely know that getting black hair to a white blonde in one session is impossible with having discoloration and especially super dead hair. After about 4 hours with my whole head in tin foil I still have big whole black strands in my hair. A Straight line going around my head when we talked about having it all blended. I have a random blue streak, that was never mentioned. In addition, I have brown patches everywhere. I would give a one star rating, but Lisa is a great person and she's really easy to talk too. She makes you feel very comfortable and tries to calm your nerves about your hair. I'm safe to say I'm better off doing my own hair like I always have. read more

This is a late review but I got my hair done by Lisa in December, hoping to achieve a rose gold/pink balayage. I was in the chair for 6+ hours. She bleached my naturally brunette hair and I knew that because my hair was dark, the color I wanted would probably not be achieved but she reassured me that she could do it. My husband was there waiting patiently and told me, after we had left the salon, that he saw her mix blue with pink in the sink. My hair was nothing at all like the picture I showed her, even factoring leniency that it might take another session or two to get there. I wanted a light pink but I was stuck with a weird purplish mess. I even texted her a week after (she promised it would fade into the right color I wanted after a week; it didn't) and told her that I'd like to have it corrected (I wouldn't even have minded paying extra for it) and she never even responded. I spent well over $200 on hair I didn't even want. I tried giving her the benefit of the doubt but she didn't even bother responding to me. She was nice and friendly to talk to while I was getting my hair done, but in terms of her services... it's a hard pass for me. I'm not paying for your conversation, I'm paying for how well you do my hair. It was the worst experience I've ever had with my hair. It made me scared to even give any other hair stylist a try in fear that I'd be scammed again. She should find a new profession! I finally got the courage to try again with my hair at another salon (Holiday Hair Salon in mountlake terrace) and it was perfect! Don't waste time here and go there (or literally anywhere else) instead! Check the picture of my hair before (what Lisa did) and after (what a PROFESSIONAL did). Oh, and it was cheaper too! UPDATE: owner of the salon was so kind enough to reach out to me even though this wasn't her fault at all. I cheated. It's true. I admit that I have a regular waxer but the siren's call of a Groupon led me to Sorine and well, I...I think there's no choice....I'm going to have a go at polywaxery. See, it's hard when I do love the gal I normally to go but then I meet someone awesome like Sorine. She was soooo friendly, super professional, quick as a wink and the space (first at the previous location and now at her new one) was welcoming and relaxing. Her shop is on the other end of town for me, but now conveniently on the way to or from my daughter's lessons, I can pop in and out without any trouble and be all the better for it this summer and beyond. Hmmm..... I hope that my other waxer doesn't get jealous, she was my first and true waxer, but this one is so great too! For me, feeling comfortable is key, and Sorine will have you chatting away and not even realize you're now hair-free at the end of your convo. Glad to have found Sorine! She gave me the best Brazilian ever. She was very nice to accommodate me so early in the morning and very considerate that my schedule was so tight (have to leave out of the country.) I've had a number of Brazilian's before and she is by far the best. She uses this blue wax (no wax strips! ) and they don't hurt! Well, maybe that's an exaggeration but compared to what I've had in the past, this barely hurt!!! And she has the perfect personality for this type of service. She is the warmest, friendliest person ever. She makes you feel like she's known you for a long time - and this is IMPORTANT - especially because you are stripping bare, if you know what I mean. She was also very careful with my brows. She took a little bit off each time until I was satisfied. I just feel bad coz I only tipped her a little over 10% and with such great service I wish I could tip her more but this is impossible on my graduate student budget. :-( So, if you've been thinking about trying a Brazilian, go for it! I used my Groupon here, and she was very accommodating with booking me. This review is a bit overdue. She ended up only booking my brazilian and underarm in just 30 min, however it took almost and hour (and I was early), which was because I was pretty hairy. I felt bad for the person waiting after me. The worst part came after, when the next day my underarms were extremely sore, and my lady bits were completely covered with in growns (????). I am pretty good about exfoliating and everything, and had the spend the next few days Tend skin-ing and tea tree-ing before getting on a plane for holiday. I came here after seeing her rave reviews on Yelp. I came here to get my brows waxed. I've been having them waxed now for about 10 years and have my regular gal back at home in the Bay Area (CA) where I'm from who does an AMAZING job. I have the worst/best eyebrows. When natural, I suffer from bushy, thick, long, uni-brow eyebrows. But really they can go either way. She was really nice, talkative and sweet. In her room was a table to lay down on and 2 wax bowls. No magnifying glass and the room was very dim. Afterwards I got in to my car and checked them out. There were still a lot of left over brow hairs that I had to go home and tweeze. Sorine is THE best Esthetician....ever. I have been brazilian waxed (a sometimes precarious procedure with the wrong person) by about 10 different people in Seattle. Sorene wins BEST esthetician...HANDS DOWN!! The salon is VERY well kept and clean. She is fantastic at keeping your mind occupied while she is pulling off the wax. She does not leave ingrown hairs. (I don't know how, I think it's the great quality wax she uses, but don't quote me) I have had an easy time getting in to see her within a day or two each time. She is down-to-earth and unpretentious. I enjoy talking with her a lot ;) The prices are competitive and possibly even inexpensive considering her skill. I found this little spa through a Groupon for waxing. Many times the spas are not that great with the coupons, but Sorine is fabulous. I travel often and do a Brazilian every month. I've seen Sorine three or four times now. She is lovely, personable and easy to schedule with. She gets me in and out quickly, and when I'm done my brows look perfect. She remembered details about me on my second visit, which surprised me and made me smile! Her salon space is cozy and nicely decorated, with a view out onto the tree-lined street. I have now found my place for the best Brazilian in town! I have been to other salons in the area and in California (where I'm from) and have never had such a great experience. On a practical level, the wax has always done horrible things to my skin and it has always grown back right away. I don't know what it is about Sorine's "hard" wax method but it works wonders! When it comes time to take care of the nether regions, it's important to know your options. I've done regular brazilian wax using wax and strips, sugaring and hard wax. The type of hard wax used here has some sort of soothing properties and the best part is it is over pretty quickly. Went here for the first time for a brazilian, and full arm wax. I had a wonderful experience with Lisa at S Spa. I was thinking of going blond again, I had been dark red for years, but knew it wasn't a one trip color. I called around to get a few quotes and times. Lisa was extremely prompt in replying to my inquiries and was able to fit me in after work that day! She took a look at my hair, asked about my color history and we discussed color techniques. After a bit we decided on a honey/gold balayage to help me transition to blond. Lisa was very up-front about the price and time it would take, very reasonable. After applying the color and letting it process, she took a look and reasoned it needed another layer of color, which she was happy to do at no extra charge! The entire process took 4 hours! It was after 9:00 PM by the time I left, no way expected when she offered me the spot. Lisa was friendly and approachable the whole time, even let me chatter at her for nearly 4 hours. The whole experience was great, I didn't feel like she was rushing or trying to up-sell me on products or services. I also didn't feel like I was annoying her by talking or when she had to apply more color. I have had my hair professionally colored for over 15 years and this was one of the better experiences.
