Having your eyebrows waxed can be a very nerve wracking thing. I mean, if someone doesn't know what they're doing, the could really jack you up. But my experience with Jane at Studio JYC has put me at ease. She takes the time to analyze your brows - the shape, arch, color, symmetry, etc. She is gentle, and makes you feel comfortable. I left feeling confident and beautiful! SHE IS NOW MY GO TO GIRL! read more

Jane is amazing! She knows her sh!t. I barely go there anymore but when I need my eyebrows done or anything, I will always go to her! She's very friendly, and her office is really cute and chic. She doesn't promote a lot only because it's word of mouth, but it's honestly my favorite place to go to when I need something done. When i went it, I would go there to get my eyebrows threaded. My first time wasn't the most comfortable, but the end results are worth it. She also has website, and I don't quite remember it, but has all the offers she does! She is awesome! Go go go. read more

I love love love love love Jane! She is so wonderful and such a pleasure to chat with! She makes bikini waxes fun! Now, who can really say that about getting waxed down there? Jane definitely made my experience in her studio very relaxing and enjoyable. She's definitely into the Asian themed decor because she has orchid flowers everywhere. Another great thing about her is that she takes appointments by text! AND she will take late appointments because she understands that people work! She is totally awesome and I think everyone should go to her!! I got a brazilian wax and it cost $45. CHEAP!! She also only takes cash, but it's oh so worth it!! read more

I almost don't want to share Studio JYC and Jane with the public b/c I feel like she's my special secret. She's like my unni or older Korean sister and I always feel like she's looking out for me. I look forward to seeing her b/c it's like visiting a best friend. I go to her for threading, waxing, spot removal, and anything else she recommends. Her products are the best quality and she is fast and and precise. Her prices are low b/c you have to pay cash or check and she has little overhead costs. She is so popular that you have to make an appointment and she books up very fast. I'm so glad my friend recommended her to me and I couldn't imagine seeing anyone else. I find that texting her is the best way to set up an appointment. Her place is tucked away in a little Korean strip mall. read more

Omg! Jane is fab! She is a true hustler! She works alone because she's a true perfectionist. She is so quick, sweet and through. I came here after a bad experience the other day and she fixed it fabulously! I am so happy that I found this place... I recommend for everyone! Don't get upset if she doesn't answer... She's working alone and services 3,000 plus people. Your best bet is to walk in and talk to her, but keep in mind she might be too busy to talk to you. If you want to be taken cared of you will deal with it! read more

[UPDATE] Jane has changed my life. Yes she has! I didn't realize when I went in for brows that she can also help with your skin. I have been suffering from terrible, large pimples on my chin for years. I've been going to a dermatologist who's prescribed really harsh medication that was just making it worse. Because of some simple treatments and STELLAR face-care advice, I threw away my prescriptions and my pimples are GONE! You have no idea how much this means to me! --------- I had been scouring the web for a new place to get my eyebrows threaded after recently moving to Seattle. Jane was highly reviewed so I opted to give her a try. Not only is she a great person, she does great work. The place was a bit hard to find - it's a little gem in the corner of a random strip-mall in northern Seattle. It's nice to work with someone who you can simply text or email if you want an appointment. Highly recommend! read more

The first time I walked in, I didn't have an appointment! I thought she did walk-ins. Nope! And I do apologize for inconveniencing the other customers. Jane was able to squeeze me in. Next time I do know better than to just barge in. So make sure you make an appointment with her first! She literally does a full evaluation of your eyebrows to give you the best results. You might have a hard time finding the studio your first time. It is all the way tucked into a corner with no sign. But once you walk into the place, it is so pretty! I love all of the modern decor. She even has a washing machine and a dryer in there! That's another plus- you know she's clean! She also changes the seating cloth after every customer! yay for cleanliness! As for the eyebrow threading, it is the least painful experience. I have my eyebrows done at many other places and boy, those ladies do try to rip your skin off. Also if Jane notices a beauty regime that you are not doing right, she will give you advice on how to make it better. I love that she is very honest and make sure her clients feel very comfortable. She cares about us! :) My eyebrows never looked better. I won't let another person touch my eyebrows again. read more

If I could give more stars I would. JYC is the best place. Even if I moved an hour or two away, I would still come to this place. I stumbled upon JYC accidentally while looking for something completely different. Best find on yelp to date. I've only been to see Jane twice but am already a fan. On my first visit, she notices certain things with how my previous gal was doing things and recommended ways to prevent some maladies from occurring. She was courteous and her knowledge about her craft is unparalleled by anyone else I've encountered. This second time I was stuck in horrendous traffic (if I could give I-5 and I-90 zero stars, I would) I completely missed my appointment. Knowing i came from quite a distance, Jane squeezed me in and still took the time needed for the appointment. What can I say, I rarely encounter customer service like she provides and I have worked in places like Nordstrom and Williams Sonoma myself. She is, simply, the best. I hate to let the world know about JYC in fear of never getting in to see Jane, but she is that good that I cannot keep quiet about how great she is. read more

I love Jane. She does amazing job at at a very reasonable price. She is funny and charming and very personable, to boot. Her studio is hidden away in a little strip mall. Once you are inside, there are super comfy sofas and lots of gossip mags to read while you wait. And once you are in her studio space, there is this table/cloud from heaven that is so comfortable you can almost forget Jane is yanking the hair from your face. read more

Jane is excellent. I get my brows done by her, and I'm always very happy with the results. Cash-only, but only a minor inconvenience since the service is so great. She's easy to get a hold of, and I've almost always been able to get last minute brow appointments whenever I've waited too long. Very personable and knows what brows should look like. read more

Jane is absolutely amazing. She truly cares about her clients. She devotes all her effort and time to reassure her clients are completely satisfied with her work. It's more than money to her. After seeing Jane for years, never once has she rushed through a job. And never once have I been upset or disappointed with her work. She will work miracles on your eyebrows, and any other service you need a shit load of work on. The best of the best. And btw, it's funny how few have attempted to degrade her professional standing stating only the negative. All bull shit. It's obvious that it's fake nevertheless a note of hate. 1. They are not actual "clients", rather estheticians whom envy her amazing work. 2. Who the fuck said hair removal is going to not hurt? Regardless of whatever method you chose, it will. GET OVER IT. 3. QUIT BEING A HATER. PERIOD. PS, her shop is clean, classy, and super cute. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!! Jane is so freaking hilarious!! Not only does she do a great job threading but the conversation is even better. I love talking to her, I feel like I'm talking to one of my girlfriends. Shes reshaping my brows and she says its going to change my life :) I would recommend this place 100%. She really knows what shes doing and the prices are really affordable. I went to inspa and paid 30 bucks for all my waxing and I still found hairs after I was done!!! She gets everything for under 20bucks!!! GO NOW! :) read more

Okay, I'm not going to add anything new here so I'll be brief. Jane is friggin' amazing and whipped my brows right into shape. She made the proper accomodations for my very pregnant self (feet and back elevated) without me having to ask. She talked a little shit to my brows to let them know that change was a-coming. I love it! It was a pleasure to visit here in her little shop. read more

This place is awesome, Jane is awesome! After reading nothing but great reviews about her services I decided to make an appointment a couple days before going out of town, and crossed my fingers she'd be able to schedule me in that same day. Not only did she fit me in, she also scheduled me at the end of her normal business hours. She had just recently moved into her own space in the same shopping mall strip she was previously at, so I can't compare the locations, but it was very easy to find, and there is plenty of parking (a plus compared to other places where street parking is the only option). I'm not sure if she's gotten a bell for her door yet, as I arrived a bit early to my appointment and she didn't hear me walk in and when she saw me she jumped! Oops! Hopefully this has changed since then. I have been to a couple other places for different services and While the pain doesn't bother me that much, someone who can't carry a conversation to take away the awkwardness of things does. But let me tell you, Jane can certainly carry a conversation! As other reviewers have already noted, she's super friendly and easy to talk to. I found her prices to be really reasonable and considering how great my experience was there I'll definately be back again. read more

Jane is super knowledgable and knows what she's doing! She is easy to talk to and the appointment was quick and pretty much painless (though I do have a tolerance to waxing). The studio itself is pretty homey and comfy. If you forget to wear the appropriate clothing, they have some readily available. read more

I found my waxer and threader! Not going to anyone else! She showed me exactly what I did wrong with my eyebrows and she reshaped it! I love my new brows! The bikini wax--she had the best technique and the right wax to make everything go smoothly and you smooth! I was so happy with the result! Pain aside, she made me laugh so much, it really helped distract from the pain!! And if that doesn't work, she has other sweet comforts! ~_^ She's totally cool too! She's got set prices and specials that she's proud of! She will not try to sell you extra products or guilt-trip you into it. I love the honesty. I was so shocked when she told me my total! You'll not find anyone more experienced and with more personality! Tip: Look for the little bright green rectangular sign to find the right strip mall! read more

Jane is as good as it could possibly get! Only better! I was running late, and on top of it I wasn't able to pay right off the bat. Jane was all chill, and super understanding of the whole situation. She reviewed my brows with keen eyes, gave a painless (seriously) threading session, and in the end I had the best damn symmetrical brows ever! Jane is my go-to-girl for all my hairy-cosmetic needs. read more

What can I say? Jane is fabulous and probably the best out there! She deserves the five star ratings more than anything! The price is just right for a Brazilian and she makes every experience pleasant and funny! I'll keep going back to her forever. I recommend her to anyone out there as well as my friends. Bottom line.. she's amazing!!! read more

Jane is AMAZING!!!! Before I came to Jane my eyebrows were a disaster! She completely re-shaped them...and they look amazing....the best they can be=) Not only that Jane's prices are REALLY affordable!! You definitely get the most for your money from Jane. I adore Jane! read more

I found Jane at Studio JYC via Yelp when I moved to Seattle 5 years ago -thank you fellow Yelpers! Even when I was living closer to South Seattle, I made the trek to go see Jane because she's THAT GOOD. I will trust nobody else with my wax needs. She's informative, knowledgeable, gives great advice and makes you feel comfortable regardless of what the service is. In all these years, I've never had a single ingrown hair or any other problems that you might have going elsewhere. The studio is super clean and comfortable. Jane gives skin advice and has helped with getting some of my crazy chin zits under control! I appreciate that she's professional, honest, straight forward and funny! She treats you like one of her gfs which makes the experience that much more enjoyable. She ALWAYS makes time for me/squeezes me in and I can make an appointment easily by text. Be aware that she accepts cash or check only. I can't say enough great things about Jane--she's seriously the best of the best! read more

I was be able to get last minute appointment with Jane last week. I originally want to try sugar but she can only do wax that day, if I want sugar, I have to wait until tomorrow, since I want to do it asap and she also convinced me to stay on wax (according to her wax is less painful than sugar) I decided to stay on wax. She is a nice lady and didn't try to sell me up, when I ask her opinion for lash tinting, she told me it's useless. I appreciate her honesty. Now, what I got issue in is the hygienic and final result. I had a Brazilian, usually before u got wax, they will clean your area to disinfect it then some will put some lotion to reduce the pain then the wax is applied with the direction of hair growth, removed against the grain of hair growth. What Jane did is as soon as I lay down she put the paste and strip it right away. In the large area, usually they ask you to stretch your skin to reduce the pain and also cleaner result but Jane just keep pulling the hair and I notice it's in same direction as the hair growth, she probably think it'll reduce the pain. she use both hard and soft wax. She was fast though which I like but when I got home, I notice it's not clean at all. There's still hair left and lots of stubs unlike the baby smooth feeling I usually get after waxing. read more

Quick and dirty wax/sugaring (not dirty though, very clean). Jane was really awesome and helpful and flattering. She's fast and efficient and hilarious. Worth the extra distance, though she'll tell you you shouldn't go that far out of the way just to go to her - but you should! It's worth it. I've gotten about 10 waxes so far in my life - all of the bikini/brazillian nature and I wouldn't go to anyone else from now on. read more

I've been seeing Jane for over five years. She's a wonder, working her magic of quick, painless and cheap hair removal. And to boot, she's hysterical. Even living in Portland, I still text her to book my appointments when I'm in Seattle. I give her a couple days to set up my appointments- she's a busy one woman show! Can't wait to see her soon! read more

Jane did my 2nd Brazilian waxing ever, and it was amazing. Having my hair pulled out had never been quite that fun. She's a great conversationalist and knows how to set a great mood for the experience. The first time I got my Brazilian, the aesthetician was terrible and there were extra hair that she kept going over. This is not the body area where anyone wants to be repeatedly waxed. Jane actually did a wax/sugar combo on me, and it gave fabulous results that lasted quite a while. I will definitely come monthly to her, and she's also highly affordable. She also does eyebrow threading which is awesome since it's hard to find a beauty salon that actually does it anywhere near Seattle without being ridiculously expensive. Jane was just a great experience! read more

Moving to a new city can be daunting - especially when you have to find your new favorite waxing, nail, and hair salons. Discovering Jane's salon was remarkably easy -- 5 stars from all other reviews are no lie!! Even though it's a a little bit of a drive from where I live, it is definitely worth the trip. I went to get my eyebrows threaded. Be prepared to not be over-threaded. I left feeling like she missed a few areas, BUT she is so knowledgeable about technique that we agreed to let my brows grow out a little so we can give them the right shape next session. She is the perfect remedy for someone who wants to invest in the right brow shape! read more

What a gem of a place! Super close to where I live and she stays open pretty late! I was able to get a last minute appointment too! Her prices are very reasonable. Jane is so wonderful and I had my first eyebrow threading. She's very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. She took my bushy overgrown brows and shaped them right up. Highly recommend! read more

I'm not one to usually write reviews but Jane is A M A Z I N G. I have been going to her for almost a year and recently moved to the eastiside and she is definitely still worth the drive. I have never gotten so many compliments on my eyebrows before. She is totally rad. read more

I never made reviews on yelp, but Jane! She is sweet, talkative and professional. I got my full-face threaded today and my skin feels perfectly fine. The location may be a little bit hard to find, but you won't regret going there :) The convo with her made me feel like at least there's someone who could feel me without criticizing. Will be back soon! read more

Jane is extremely knowledgeable, fun, and great at what she does! I live in San Francisco but was in Seattle visiting a friend for the weekend. I followed my friend to JYC so she could get a face peel and I could get a consultation, as my acne has been flaring up recently. I haven't been satisfied with my dermatologist's treatments and advice, but I left Jane feeling better informed and more reassured about my situation. She really seemed to understand where I am coming from, and told me about products that I can use. I've started to use them and my face already feels healthier! I am sad to live hundreds of miles away from this studio, but Jane gave me her card so I can contact her with questions, and I will be sure to set up an appointment for services with her next time I am in the area! read more

The. Best. No other way to describe her. Never thought a Brazilian wax could be a fun experience, but Jane makes the impossible possible.

Jane was a life safer and one of the most efficient waxers I've ever been too. She was very accommodating and was able to squeeze me in for last minute Brazilian appointment before I left for vacation. I was thoroughly impressed by how efficient she was with her waxing too. I will definitely come back. read more

I found out about Jane through Yelp, and signed up for an account specifically to be able to write a review. She totally means it when she says she's obsessed with eyebrows and skin. And it shows through her work. I totally love my new eyebrows and so glad that she was able to answer a skin care question that no other dermatologist/esthetician has been able to answer. Her services are so affordable... And she's hilarious! All in all, Jane is just someone you feel good about handling your skin. You're definitely going to leave feeling good about your hair removal experience... Thanks, Jane!!! read more

Jane is top notch. She knows her stuff and I dare you to find a cheaper Brazilian anywhere in the Seattle area. She does a bang up job on and wax/thread/sugar needs brows to chotch. I have been an avid Brazilian wax advocate for a few years now, and I have been shopping around for the best/cheapest option for my semi-regular waxing of the nethers, and I have found my girl. She doesn't leave an stragglers or stray hairs, she may bust out a ruler to confirm the symmetry of a freshly groomed bush, and she will answer thoroughly and knowledgeably any skin care questions. What's more, she is super funny and will put a nervous first time waxer to ease. You will feel like you are chatting with an old friend in no time and then next thing you know you are ready to strut it in your tiniest bikini. Make the trip to Shoreline, enjoy a $1 taco from the taco bus while you are there (or 20 with the money you saved). You won't regret it. read more

ATTENTION ATTENTION! I have been seeing Jane for 8 1/2 YEARS! Allow me to testify! She is THE person, the ONLY person, I would recommend to see in Seattle for hair your removal. If not for her, I probably would have shaved my brows a'la 90's Drew Barrymore. As others have said: she books by text; tells you when would work and when doesn't - straight to the point!; gets the job done and most importantly --she has a fantastic sense of humor and KNOWS what she is doing. Jane, I consider myself so lucky that I found you and that I can still find time to come see you! Thanks for making me feel great every time I visit. I'm always so thankful I made the trip up north to visit. read more

Jane is the best! Her energy is so therapeutic and she really cares about how you feel and your skin

Jane is amazing! She really took the time to make sure I was comfortable every step of the way during my Brazilian and my facial. She is extremely knowledgeable on the services she provides and takes the necessary time to do the best job possible. I came in for a European facial but after she evaluates my skin she gave me a Korean facial because it's what my face needed instead but charged me for what i came in for! She also made sure I knew how to care for my skin going forward. She was very gentle during my Brazilian which made me very comfortable. Not only is she professional but she's hilarious! We laughed the whole time! She made it feel like we had known each other for years! It's safe to say i won't be going anywhere else for these services from now on! You rock, Jane!!!! :) read more

I'd never had my brows threaded before, used to get them waxed every couple months about 8 years ago but found it too harsh for my skin. I found Jane's StudioJYC on Yelp on a "threading" search and was impressed by the reviews and what she had to say on her own website. Making an appointment was very easy and she was so accommodating to my "trip to the city by ferry for haircut and other grooming" schedule. I was even a couple minutes late (I think I bypassed the entrance twice before getting the correct shopping area) and she was so sweet. As for the brows, she knew just what to do to make them their best and we chatted while she plucked. So easy going and fun to talk to, just a very kind person. She was meticulous about getting the brows right and I was extremely pleased with the results. She also gave me some tips about what to tell my stylist when getting my haircut (new bangs were on order and not too many layers or a straight across the bottom cut for my wavy-curly long hair--which btw she accurately described as looking like Darth Vader if cut incorrectly-HA!) I'll definitely going back to see her for my brows. read more

I'm so happy to find Jane. love the result of everything she did for me. She is very nice and knowledgeable about brow , wax and threading. I never miss my monthly routine of visiting her. My husband and I both got haircut and we love it! read more

Jane is great! This is not a spa experience, but hey, you're there to get your hair ripped out, not get a massage! She did a great job on my brows and *ahem* lady parts. Her sense of humour and supply of candy helps with the pain, and her prices can't be beat.... just go already! read more

I have been to see Jane a number of times after reading all the positive reviews here. My results have always been awesome! I have never called her. always scheduled appointments via email and I have always gotten extremely fast replies. Her prices are SO much better than most other salons for better quality, so I have no problem with the lack of a receptionist. I get my eyebrows threaded and a Brazilian wax every visit and I love the results. I look great and Jane accomplishes it quickly and fairly painlessly. She is wonderful to talk to and I love her attitude. read more
