If you want to find one of the best gelato places in Florence, look no further. Studio gelato has my heart--the wide variety of flavors do not disappoint. The prices are great--I got two flavors in a small for 2€. I got tiramisu and coconut, which were unbelievably smooth and creamy. The ambiance of the small shop is great, with cute wooden tables and plants. The bright pink of the shop definitely gives off a dessert vibe. The lady working at night was so sweet. We stopped in at Studio Gelato for a single scoop on a cone for two kids. The ice cream was *fine* which is why it gets three stars. My daughter took one taste of her ice cream and the entire scoop immediately fell on the floor. We had to get a second one for her and they charged us for three total, even though the likely reason it fell was because they didn't secure it enough. It would have been a generous (and simple) gesture to just provide the scoop at no cost, since my kiddo didn't get to have any at all. We'll get gelato somewhere else next time. read more

One of the few places that were open when looking for a quick snack near the Duomo. Few tables outside, few inside. Very clean inside. The worker spoke both English and Italian. The service and gelato were both good. No line so it was quick. I got 2 flavors in my cup, cheesecake and lemon basil. The cheesecake was very good. The lemon basil was good at first, but once I realized I had a half cup of it I regretted my decision. The basil ended up being too much. It was a nice pallet cleanser but got old fast. I tried a little if my wife's hazelnut. Wish I ordered that instead of the basil. read more

Got the rose gelato, which was solid, but not the best gelato in the city. Also had the banana and peach, but it had a more watery / ice-like flavor than anything towards the end. Given the great gelato spots around the area, I can't justify giving this a 5, but still a good place to hit if you're around the area. This place is just bad tourist trap vibes. I just bought my niece a cone with two flavors. 5 minutes after eating the gelato, it fell on the floor because the cone broke while my niece was holding it. I went back to Studio Gelato to hopefully replace it and told the staff what happened -- that the cones are very thin in the middle and are susceptible to breaking. She replied: "That's impossible, I sell them everyday". She charged me again. ~€10 for 2 scoops of gelato. The prices are already way more than most of residential Milan. I dislike this attitude in a business. Sometimes dropping the gelato is your fault, sometimes it is not, regardless, it is a friendly business practice to be empathetic towards the customer and handle the situation in an accommodating way. Not treat customers in an unforgiving way. I know in Europe, overall the customer is not right. This place is *definitely* not an exception to that convention. read more
