I've followed my stylist to his fourth location since we met and will continue to visit him here at Studio Elements. This is a similar model to Salon Lofts, so your experience will be entirely dependent on the professional you are visiting. It is tucked in behind/next to Loops in Grandview and I drove past twice when visiting. On a Sunday morning, there was plenty of parking outside. I was able to participate in an event here to pre-qualify this review. I am only writing the review based on what I would do (and have already started planning for my own company's event) and not of individual service providers within Studio Elements. The floor plan and layout of Studio Elements is excellent both if you want privacy and if you come in a group. The massage and service areas are off a main hall in a nice darkened room with 5 attached private chambers - this is where you would get waxing, massage, tinting, facials and more. For services like mani's and pedi's, the rooms are still beautifully decorated, immaculate and clean, but have one glass wall overlooking the hallway. This wasn't a problem for me as it felt so much more personal than the normal nail place I go to where a bunch of you are lined up in pedi-chairs in a row. Throughout, the decor is very tasteful and high-end. The building itself is attached to another business, but it doesn't feel strip-mally. The interior is modern, yet calming. It is so nice, in fact, that I have suggested it as a place for the attorney's I work with to have a non-profit fundraiser spa event. This is another great independent salon destination, like Salon Lofts. I had an appointment for a massage with Betty (separate review) and finally got to stop in. Studio Elements is clean & modern with separate rooms that each stylist rents. I liked that they had a separate "Spa" area that was apart from the hairstylists. The bathroom was clean and I visited later (7pm) so parking in their lot was super easy. I will definitely check out the stylists here and re-visit! read more

After getting my hair cut at Great Clips for the last 30 years, my wife talked me into going to an actual salon, so I booked an appointment with Stephanie Martin here at Studio Elements. Definitely the best hair cut I've ever had. I was really sick of the same old style I've been doing my whole life and she did a really great job listening to what I wanted and taught me how to style it and even sent me home with a new type of hair goo to try out. Luxurious interior like at Studio Elements Salon and Spa is usually not found at this scale. Small little salons can spend the money and look awesome, however, larger places (say Salon Lofts) are like Hong Kong - a bunch of tiny cubicles stacked next to one another to maximize the profit for the salon owners, and limit the amount of space poor hair stylists, etc. actually have. Studio Elements absolutely changes this. In the end, the customer (us) benefits the most. There's plenty of awesome hair stylists, a couple of studios dedicated to manis and pedis, and a whole spa for cosmetic therapists and masseuses. It is truly a one stop shop! I'm a HUGE fan of Studio Elements and, particularly, of Jeny Thomson! She is a FABULOUS hair stylist who has both a great eye for color and an innate feel for cuts. She's a a diligent listener who (refreshingly) isn't afraid to give you her honest opinion. She has cut both of my children's hair, and has cut, highlighted and styled mine many times - all with stellar results (the kind that people stop you in the street to complment). I just got back from a mani/pedi appointment and I'm so so happy! Zuleikha is so sweet and I felt very at ease and welcomed. I had a hard time choosing the color I wanted but they were so nice to me and helped me chose! I'm really glad I went there and will definitely go back. They paid attention to the smallest details and they did an amazing job! I've never had a mani/pedi this neat. All my nails were long but I broke one of them, Zuleikha was kind enough to put a gel nail on that finger to make all my nails the same size (free of charge)! She even did a cute little design on my ring finger (free of charge again)! I've never been this happy with a manicure before. The pedicure was amazing as well, I have ingrown toenails, meaning the nail grows in the flesh and they fixed that! For the first time in ages the skin around my toenails is not inflated nor red. Come to grandview Heightd to this new modern gem of a salon and you'll be glad you came! I came with my 8 year old daughter and we got great pedicures for a good price in a brand new crispy contemporary environment. The price was great and my nails look amazing and my daughter got a half price deal for her nails. After such a positive expirience I have decided to come for a haircut too and was amazed how attentive and professional Cher, a hairdresser, was. We will definately be back - so far the best salon expirience in Columbus. The place is new and they keep on adding new services. read more

I go to studio elements to see Seda , I've been going to her for several months now for my eyebrows ( wax and tint) and for my individual eyelash extensions . I'm very picky I've always had others give me uneven brows or mess them up somehow She's the best and has them looking perfect now, I do not trust anyone else! It was my first time trying lash extensions also and I LOVE them you can't even feel them. I had Stephanie Mahon do blonde highlights with a cut to my hair. I asked to go blonder considering summer is just around the corner but she just ended up doing the same color it already was with a little more brass to it. (Ick) I also asked to have shorter layers added so my hair would have a lot of volume but I didn't get that either. I even provided a picture! I was I unhappy with my hair when I left so I contacted her twice to tell her and see if we can fix it, considering I paid good morning for my hair and want it to look like I actually got it done. After a few weeks she FINALLY contacted me back. She responded telling me to buy purple shampoo to help with the awful brass tone in my hair and if I want volume to use a root lifter and "good luck finding a new hairdresser." I kid you not! I was taken back when I was told this. It was my first time to the salon and to see her, and I just moved walking distance from it. Needless to say, I would never recommend anyone to go see her. She has VERY poor customer service skills and can not do hair very well!! read more

Decor: modern and (very) clean. Services: nails, facials, massage, wax, haircuts, etc. Now on to the important stuff - the people. Just got a brow wax by Carey and a haircut by Jennifer. Both = AMAZING. I can't believe it. I was hesitant to really try out this place since I heard the prices were high, but really... they aren't! It's almost like some "best kept secret" in grandview that I don't want to spill. Carey was attentive throughout the whole waxing process. I wanted a little more arch to my eyebrows without being drastic, and she gave me exactly that. I had a little bit of a reaction to the wax/waxing and had some welts break out along my brows, and it kind of scared me for a bit, but she kept reassuring me it would be fine and kept applying this special lotion. I immediately had a haircut following the wax but she said she would keep checking on me since I was in the studio. I thought that was very nice and considerate of her - she genuinely cared and wanted to make sure it wasn't a serious reaction before I left. She even gave me a packet of the lotion to take home in case it didn't subside. (For the record, the swelling went down in about an hour. She said that can sometimes happen to people who don't wax often). Jennifer is an awesome stylist. I have gotten my haircut x-zillion number of times and always find myself kind of settling for the most decent stylist I can find. Well, this girl is above and beyond anything I have experienced before. As soon as I came in she asked me what I did NOT want in a haircut. Which I thought was the perfect question since so often we all get cuts we end up hating for one reason or another. She then had me stand up and really looked at my entire body type and symmetry to see what kind of cut would best compliment "me" as a whole! I have NEVER had anyone do this before. She really took in everything I said and listened and made sure I got what I wanted. She catered my requests to fit my body and it turned out beautiful. Not to mention I was in and out of there in 1 hour flat. That included the mini-consultation, shampoo/condition, initial cut, blow dry, and any follow up cutting/styling after all was said and done. She must have so many tricks up her sleeve cause my cut was done in no time, layers and all. She said she learned a little short-cut in creating soft layers while in London and I almost couldn't believe how well it turned out. I felt like she just took a chunk of my hair and chopped it, but it actually worked. Plus she did any clean up afterward. The price is UNBEATABLE too, I've had my hair done at Aveda, Kenneth, and Nurtur before for (what I thought was) a reasonable price of ~$50. This cut was only $25!! (Normally $35, but she gives student discounts). Even at the full price of $35, who can beat that?? Are you kidding me? And this is quality cutting, not done by a student like at Aveda. I've also gotten a manicure by Lauren (?) and remember it as being a great experience as well. Overall, all the girls were super personable and very nice. I think to have a room at Studio Elements it must be a pre-requisite to have both exceptional talent in your field as well as a personality. There were no awkward silences, but nice casual conversation that made the whole experience absolutely inviting. I will definitely be going back to Jennifer for all of my haircuts and styles!! Absolutely the best haircut/appointment I've had! I made me appointment with Jennifer after reading other reviews about her and am glad I did! She was so nice and very talkative and answered all of my questions. As said in another review, she asked what I didn't want which is a nice change from the normal "So what's it going to be". I definitely loved that she takes your height and body shape in to account for what will look best on you. My hair is rather long (a few inches from my butt) and I told her I didn't really want the length cut because I'm eventually going to donate it so she came up with a style around that. She told me what she thought would be best and I agreed and added in a few details of my own that I said I had always wanted but had never really gotten from other hair stylists, and she took everything I said and did it! I was completely shocked that after years of wanting a certain style I had actually received it. I told her I didn't want to leave with the same boring hair I had when I came in and she didn't disappoint. Although I didn't color my hair I asked her several questions about it and we discussed what would look best with my skin tone. I love red hair but have dark brown and had said that I wish I wouldn't have to bleach it to get the color I wanted (of red) and she informed me of a process where it lifts your hair color and infuses color at the same time so I wouldn't have to bleach my hair at all! The salon was very upscale and I loved the design. Jennifer definitely knows what she's doing (she's even trained/cut hair in Europe!) It was a little more than I'm used to spending coming from a small town. I thought someone had posted that students get a discount but she hadn't mentioned anything so maybe it was a different stylist. Needless to say, I'll keep coming back for that kind of treatment! I have a personal issue with my hair line so for years I have grown my hair out to hide it. 8 years went by with ugly long hair combed forward to hide my hair line and one day my mother talked me into getting it cut. I expected the worse because of my history with hair salons not understanding my problem. Roger from studio elements was so knowledgeable and experienced and understood my issue. He was able to chop it all off without showing my hair line off so now I have a professional cut that looks great at the new job I landed 2 days later. Valencia Jordan is an amazing stylist! Whether you need a trim, cut, or color, she's amazing! She colors a coworker's hair, has trimmed my son's hair and I've had her do color and relaxers on my hair. She also does some type of straightening treatment that my 13 year old gets done every 3 months. She is constantly getting compliments on how long, thick, soft and beautiful her hair is.
