You get what you pay for. This is a higher-end spa experience and every step of the process reflected that. All the staff were so informed, talented, and kind. I sprang for a "journey" package which included a few things that I will outline below: 90 min Higher Realm CBD Massage - Dale was fantastic. They made sure I was comfortable and communicated well through the process. It was a bit more movement than I've experienced for a massage before but found it really quite enjoyable. Aura Photography Reading - Lex was kind and listened to what I had to say and used both that information and my photo to dive in deeper to my life. Obviously it's all a little "woo woo" but there are certainly learnings that can be taken from it. I love card readings because they help me critically think about things. She was great and I would love to come back and see if and how my reading changes in 6 months - 1 year. She seemed very knowledgable. Infrared Sauna - This was the part I wasn't very excited about but it was super pleasant. There are different options that change the temperature and the run time of the sauna. My cycle was for "pain relief" which I found to be hot but not to the sweating point. Included was a CBD gummy as well as a glass of kombucha. No way I can afford this on the regular, but I would totally return for special occasions or once a year as a lil treat. read more

Loved the experience. Valerie was the person who did my facial. It was very relaxing and I really enjoyed the experience. She was calm and I felt so pampered. The warm bed, the warm towels, the warm products, all great. She suggested a product for my face that I am going to try. My only complaint was that I was sick with a cold and I didn't know you have to cancel 24hours in advance or be penalized half the cost of the service. So I had to go. Aesthetically, Paloma is beautiful. It has a very European/Californian vibe to it. I love the arches, the decor, and the overall space. I'm giving 2 stars for a few reasons. The main reason being that my face had a terrible reaction post-facial. After my facial, there was a spot on my face that was super itchy, and it was pretty small for the first few days. It's been a little over a week, and it's just gotten worse and worse by flaring up larger. Unsure if you can tell in the pictures, but suddenly I have a bumpy, hard texture with red, irritated skin that I've never had before. My skin is always super soft and smooth, and I've never had issues with it aside from an occasional blackhead or pimple every once in a while, so this is very abnormal. I usually have a natural glow, but my skin is now rough. I'm unsure if the tools weren't cleaned or what happened, but I haven't changed any of my products and haven't worn much makeup. The location of Paloma is ideal in the heart of Grandview, and they seem to be booked far in advance. I booked in December for a February appointment, they contacted me and said they had to move me back 3 more weeks, and then they found an opening to fit me in. The woman who did my facial was very kind. She had a lot of recommendations and had a great manor about her. But, I'm now booking an appointment with the dermatologist to see what happened to my face immediately following the facial. read more

I really wanted to like this place. A friend recommended it to me so I went for my yearly birthday massage. The massage therapist I worked with didn't ask me anything about the level of pressure I wanted or if there were areas to avoid. I filled out the forms beforehand, but she didn't seem to know what I was there for (a head and neck massage). The massage was painful from the start. I should've said something, so that's my fault for not speaking up although I was visibly flinching due to the amount of pressure she applied. I am still in so much pain the day after. The massage room was also quite cold and each room has a curtain as opposed to a door, making it a bit loud at times. Overall, there are much better places to go in Columbus and I would not return to Paloma. read more

It's been a long while since I've had a massage and with an upcoming vacation on the calendar, I promptly made a reservation for the day after I arrived home. This was the best decision ever and I'm so glad I found Paloma. It's easy to miss right of the busy fifth avenue. I honestly heard of them first on Jeni's instagram page, LOL, yes Jeni's from Jeni's Ice Cream. If Jeni recommends them, I believe it. And you know what, she did not steer me wrong. The reservation was super easy to make online and other reviews on Yelp had great things to say. The parking is a little limited but I arrive a few minutes before the appointment. The moment I walked through the doors it was like I was in a distant place, far far away from Columbus. The space itself automatically puts you in a calm and relaxed mood. The staff is friendly and offered a good deal on CBD gummies to help me relax even more. That was an excellent touch. I got a deep tissue massage by Aubrey and he did an amazing job (I think that was their name). The entire experience was professional, extremely relaxing and exactly what I was hoping for. The dimly lit round, calming sounds, and massage itself was so spot on, I couldn't ask for more. With an unmatched aesthetic reminiscent of the acclaimed "Amangiri" I'm thrilled the internet led me to Paloma! I enjoyed the beautiful, tranquil environment and extremely kind receptionists. I had made an appointment for an infrared sauna session and a deep tissue massage. The sauna was in use upon my arrival, and I was thanked for my patience as I waited 15 minutes or so. The receptionist gave me a complementary CBD gummy and kumbucha for the inconvenience. The sauna was interesting, with colored lights to target certain ailments. I had chosen the "pain relief" session, which was 30 minutes at approximately 130 degrees. It was relaxing but I'm not sure how effective the treatment was. Enjoyable, nevertheless. My massage, however was of the best I've had. My 90 minute deep tissue session with Whitni was fabulous. She was knowledgeable, attentive, professional, and highly skilled at the craft of massage therapy. If I lived in Columbus I would be coming here monthly at minimum! Some previous reviews I've read had grievances regarding the price point of Paloma, but I found the prices to be fair considering the quality of the establishment and the services offered. My only note for Paloma customers is that they do not have a locker room. This wasn't an issue for me, as I found it equally convenient to change in the rooms, but if They had somewhere to apply makeup and freshen up post services, that would be ideal. I booked a 90 minute Swedish massage for my birthday because I had a gift certificate a friend gave me. Upon walking in, the ambiance is quite nice and the front of the spa is well merchandised with a bunch of lifestyle products like crystals, candles, and new age self help books. The front desk girls are basically pushy salespeople who don't know how to take a hint. I know they're just doing their jobs, but the last thing I want on a relaxing afternoon is someone bombarding me with small talk and pretending to be my best friend so I'll buy something. I told the masseuse that I had tendinitis in my right arm that I'd like her to focus on. She literally didn't touch any part of my forearm in a way that felt relieving. In fact the entire massage was quite mediocre. It wasn't the worst, but I've definitely had better massages for half the price. On top of that, she was wearing perfume that gave me a headache, she left for a bathroom break an hour in, and I could hear other people talking during the massage because they don't even have doors on the rooms. I was very much not relaxed. To top it off, even though the massage didn't really start until 10 minutes after the appointment, and she left for 5 minutes to pee, she still ended the appointment 5 minutes early. So my 90 minute massage only consisted of 70 minutes of actually massaging. I wish I had read reviews first because it sound like several people complained about this already During checkout the of course masseuse tried to push product on me to help with my arm, and told me to come back and see her soon so she could help more with that. I just left an hour ago and writing this review is killing my arm because the tendinitis is still so bad. Tiger balm works better. On the plus side, the front desk girls gave me a free crystal because it was my birthday. They were certainly trying and I hate writing negative reviews when people are trying. I assume they noticed I wasn't in a super happy relived mood after that experience. Unfortunately, I'm not a Crystal person. I've had some mediocre massages but never have I come out feeling more stressed than before I went in. I don't usually write reviews but Paloma had a chance to make this right and chose to disregard any chance of rectifying things with a returning client. I received a gift card in December from a friend who purchased through a staff member no longer employed by Paloma. This employee was a friend of mine, but the friendship unfortunately ended on bad terms. I had reached out to Paloma staff prior to booking, who stated my ex friend no longer worked for the company. This made me more comfortable booking an appointment and finally using my gift card for a much needed massage. Paloma staff did not verify how I would be paying prior to my appointment, something that is standard in the industry. When I provided my gift card after my massage, the receptionist explained that the gift card had been used on May 24th by the staff member who purchased it for a friend to gift me. I explained that my friendship with that ex employee went sour and we both realized that she had done this on purpose. The ex employee used my gift card for her own personal use. I explained that the employee/friend purchased this for someone else to give to me and I had text evidence of this. The receptionist was super sweet and apologetic and went to go talk to the owner of Paloma. When she returned, she said she was so sorry but there was nothing she could do. I kindly asked to speak with the owner myself. I explained the situation and that I wasn't prepared to use another form of payment. She didn't say more than two words as I stood there in tears realizing what a friend had done to me. This was someone they employed and they refused to make it right. Paloma's owner was incredibly cold and non communicative during our interaction. I understand gift cards can be held on the account of the purchaser, but an employee of the company can use a gift card given to a client? With the client having no knowledge of it? I paid full price for this service with no empathy had or accommodations made. The owner did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation or offer any type of assistance. I really saw this place as a new home for my healing with their sound baths and other events/products but I can't stand behind an owner who only sees a dollar sign and does not find solutions for unhappy clients. The place of healers I thought I found was a myth in my mind. The atmosphere is the only thing nice about this spa. My massage didn't last more than 45 mins (booked a 60 minute). I've had much better massages at less pretty places and for cheaper. I won't recommend this spa due to the severely lacking business skills of the owner and the rushed, half ass massage service I received. read more

I visited Paloma for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at the ambience walking in. It reminded me of a very natural, peaceful vibe you would find at a spa in Morocco which is unique and different than other spas. I had a massage from Meka and I absolutely loved every minute of it! I couldn't tell you the last time I fell asleep during a massage, but she somehow got me in for a quick relaxation nap. It was lovely! They offer quite a few services that I can't speak to, but I definitely recommend checking them out! I took one star off because of parking. For a first timer, it was a bit unclear where or where not to park given that it is attached to a floral shop. Aesthetically, if Anthropology decided to open up a spa it would look and feel like Paloma, so kudos for their well curated vibe. Unfortunately the actual service does not match, which more times than not is the case with spas. The higher the aesthetic value, the lower the quality of service, e.g. lighter touches, less to no manual extractions, little to no neck and arm massages etc. My esthetician was a sweet natured person and the rest of the team were extremely welcoming and kind. However, the bulk of the "results" will have to come from the products themselves. There was no manual extraction and the device used barely did anything. When I looked in the mirror my nose and cheeks were still clogged. I barely felt her touch when she applied the products and when I thought there would be pressure for the "lift", it was maybe 3 mins total. Additionally there was no "scalp" massage but rather my hair getting fluffed, which is fine by me as I do not like my hair being touched but I would rather have a 5 mins hand massage than a pseudo bullet point mentioned in the service. All in all I will have to look for another facial to replace this one, which is incredibly disappointing due to its inflated cost. read more

recently visited for a salt stone CBD massage. I was very disappointed. The Stones were chipped and broken and felt more like of an exfoliating treatment. The stones were dropped multiple times (I just pray he didn't use those dirty stones dropped on the ground on me again). It felt like a sports massage with how fast he was going instead of a relaxing blissful experience. I was knocked into on multiple times (The rooms are so small that it's no wonder he wasn't on top of me more trying to work). I went home and put an ice pack on my lower back the entire evening from the pain. I had such high expectations of my service and it tremendously fell short. I wouldn't recommend. I booked an appointment for a massage online the other evening and unfortunately woke up to an emergency at work that I was called in to handle. I attempted to contact this establishment that morning to reschedule as soon as I could but did not get in contact until after they opened at 10:11. I believe I spoke with Keisha who began helping me get rescheduled and then mentioned that I would still be charged a 50% cancellation fee even though I was rescheduling. I replied and said that I would not be rebooking if I was going to pay for a service that I did not receive. Keisha put me on a brief hold to ask the manager for an exception due to the emergent circumstances. I was called back later and told that the 50% would be charged and I asked to speak with the manager that called me back over an hour later. Stephanie operated in a very specific tone that came across as extremely demeaning. I called to share my experience and to discuss how this policy unfairly treats clients. Stephanie continued to reiterate the same few points, including: - I agreed to the terms online when booking ~If the terms and conditions satisfied me I wouldn't have asked to speak to the manager - They developed this policy in response of being taken advantage of in the early months of their opening ~This doesn't apply to me, while I can be empathetic that people cancelled their appointments I truly had an emergency and was looking forward to rescheduling for the very next day. - To take care of their therapists lost income ~This is commendable, but a business should be obligated to take care of their employees - transferring the blame to the customer is not a way to provide an excellent experience. While all of these points Stephanie continually reiterated during our conversation were true, she failed to understand my true concern and was unwilling to grasp that the rigidity of this policy alienates potentially loyal clients and offers a terrible customer experience. After several minutes Stephanie only regurgitated the same information, followed by empty apologies that failed to understand why I called to speak with them. The reality is that this industry faced severe impact during the pandemic, but my 1 star review goes out to the owners, that chose to develop a policy that operates under the guise of "taking care of their therapists," when it simply passes the responsibility to the customer. A place of employment should take care of it's employees, that is the key to a successful business. In the event that procedures are being, "taken advantage of," it is the businesses responsibility to ensure their employees do not lose out on income. This place does not have any interest in customer satisfaction and if they did, instead of charging customers to compensate their therapists for lost time and wages they should work harder to understand customer needs and to procure loyal, long term, and generous clientele. The unwillingness to compromise, the terrible and condescending conversation with Stephanie has solidified my decision to never experience Paloma. It's disappointing that a small, local business has decided to put profits over people. I will start by saying the space is absolutely phenomenal. As soon as you walk in, you immediately feel a sense of calming. I mean, they even give you strawberry-cucumber infused water upon arrival. I will admit, I got there 3 minutes late due to traffic. I quickly finished my questionnaires/waivers and was greeted by my massage therapist, Jill. I had booked the Higher Realm CBD massage and was given a CBD gummy before my massage. I immediately did not get "zen"-like vibes from my masseuse. I had to ask if this was the CBD massage, to which she said no and then took an additional 5-10 minutes to get the products she needed. The actual massage itself felt amazing, although there were some awkward moments that she blamed on the weighted blanket. Once the massage was over, I asked about the cooling CBD treatment explained in the description and she claimed she already did it and I should "speak up next time". I then checked my phone and realized it was 3:00 on the dot once I had gotten up from the table. If I had to guess, my 60 minute massage was 35 minutes at the most. I waited outside of my room as I always do post massage, the therapist didn't come out so I escorted myself out. I want to love this spot SO bad because other than this specific interaction, the rest of Paloma is phenomenal. I wanted to treat myself to a nice prenatal massage so I decided to book here because it's much fancier than where I normally go. Overall, I think you're paying for those aesthetics rather than the service you get. I arrived 15 minutes early, which was obviously on me, but I then waited over 10 minutes past the start of my appointment time to be taken into the room. No one said anything to me about the wait. Despite the late start, my massage ended a few minutes before it was even originally supposed to. They were closing and I get the impression that they wanted to get everyone out. Instead of the 80 minutes of hands on time that is promised, I would guess I had about 65. The blankets on the massage table were super thick, scratchy, and not at all breathable. The room was also incredibly warm which was very uncomfortable as a pregnant woman and made it hard to relax. I mentioned being overheated to my therapist and she agreed that the room was warm, but said the table wasn't heated so there wasn't much she could do besides uncover my feet. The majority of the massage was more just rubbing than actual massage and I don't feel like it did much of anything for my pregnancy soreness. The few areas where she did do more massage were very rough. I specifically wrote on my forms that I didn't want my hands massaged, which she did anyway. The pre-massage paperwork was pretty extensive and I feel like if it isn't going to be read, I shouldn't have to waste time filling it out. My usual place also spends a little time on the scalp and upper neck which Paloma did not do at all. I left covered in so much excess oil that I could hardly keep my shoes on while walking. Additionally, I'm used to massages being done in rooms with doors, but their rooms were just curtained off. There were people in the hallway that were so loud and again made it very difficult to relax. The massage was ended with the therapist ringing a startling bell back and forth multiple times, which was just awkward. I left feeling very disappointed that I wasted so much money when this is such a rare treat for me, and I didn't feel any better/different than when I walked in. I received a gift card from a client, and I was SO excited to give Paloma a try! I scheduled a facial but the day before I was in a car accident. I called to let them know the morning of and I was told I would still be charged the no show fee and no exceptions could be made. I tried to make it work but was unable because I currently have no car. I was charged $49 for missing my appointment even though I called to explain and had every intention of rescheduling. The girl I talked to was very nice, but they definitely have no empathy or consideration for their guests. I did everything I could yesterday to make it to my appointment but was unable and now my anxiety is through the roof because I can't afford to just lose money like that. I can understand if I just had forgotten or this happened more than once, but as a new client who wanted to reschedule, I think this shows you're not interested in building a relationship with the client, you only care about the money. read more
