I felt so calm here because everyone was so nice, calm, and they walked me through EVERYTHING. I really appreciate how the dentist (I forget her name, but she was so nice) sat with me and explained everything she saw in common language and walked me through a plan for the next few visits and the lady at the front desk walked me through every fee/payment without me even asking. I've been coming here for about 3 years now and I can't say enough great things. Dr Boyer has always been extremely attentive and thorough, and always remembers our past conversations. She doesn't push any unnecessary treatments and is always patient and willing to answer all my annoying questions (being an MD I probably ask more questions and cause more frustration than most clients ) her support staff of hygienist professionals are equally knowledgeable and caring and I enjoy my time with them as well. Going to the Dentist - it turns out - can be a great experience. I was blown away. What makes Studio Dental so great? To start with, the process for booking an appointment is all done online and incredibly easy: as a new patient it literally took me two minutes. Next, their offices are brand new and spectacular: both their mobile trailer and the office are like no dental office you have ever seen. (They also play great music and give you the option of watching Netflix when you're in the chair!). But most importantly, their staff is awesome. I checked in with Colin and was in the chair within minutes (no arbitrary wait times at this office) where Dr. Creighton did my cleaning. She didn't lecture me about my lack of flossing (which was much appreciated) and made me feel so comfortable. The cleaning took less than 30 minutes and was pain free (can't say the same about my old dentist in Boston). At the end I asked Dr. Creighton about Invisalign and she gave me a free scan in just a few minutes. Dr. Creighton was my dentist about 5 years ago when she was at another practice. She ended up leaving that practice and I was literally heart broken because it took me such a long time to find a dentist that I felt comfortable with - you know someone that could make me laugh while sticking a gigantic needle in my gums! Fast forward to 2017, Creepy Stalker Facebook keeps trying to force me to be friends with Dr. C and I keep saying, "Ya I know her, but hella awkward - No Facebook, NO!" But it was perfect timing as I went to work on a Friday, chomped down on a soft boiled egg that still had a little egg shell still on it, and CRACK, I felt my Vaneer fall off! In a panic, I log back onto Facebook, actually now stalking Dr. C, trying to see where she is practicing. Find Studiodental.com, immediately talk to Colin - which was so helpful and listened to me freak out about my toothless blunder - he gets me all setup to see Dr. C the same day. I was so relieved as I was worried about looking like a crazy toothless weirdo for the whole weekend! Get to the emergency appointment and I'm blown away at the office and what the Dr's have created! I must say, Dr. C has a brilliant brain, a dentist that comes to you, while keeping you feeling super boojey on a dollar store champagne budget (how we SF'ers role!) Luckily she was working, remembered me, and was able to make me look decent out in public again with a full set of working teeth. I went to one of the Studio Dental trailer locations. I was a bit skeptical at first, but I'm always down to try new things; I'm glad that I did. There was a nice amount of room and I didn't feel exposed considering how close the booths are. The dentist explained everything really well and answered all of my questions. She even caught some things that my last dentist didn't do right. My cleaning was nice too. I was able to watch an episode of Master of None on Netflix on the ceiling screen (where I also got to see my X-rays as the doctor explained them). It was hilarious b/c I was trying now to laugh while my mouth was being cleaned. I have a follow up appointment for next week and although they're aren't in my PPO-network, I'm willing to pay the extra cost for things to be done right. read more

I've almost never left the dentist office happy so I'm a tough customer, but this was a game-changing experience. Normally I leave the dentist feeling bad that I haven't flossed enough, angry at some hidden pricing, and skeptical of any advice they gave like "you have a new cavity". Oh and annoyed a the 60 minute painful cleaning. Here, you watch Netflix with noise canceling headphones, feel confident that the dentist is looking out for you and not making you feel bad, and see all the details on pricing with no hidden charges. 10/10 recommend! read more

This place is awesome. Very thorough for my first visit. Measurements, X-rays, and a great cleaning. It was nice to watch TV with headphones on while they did their work. It made the time go by quickly. I will definitely go back. It was the best dental operation I have ever seen. One quick safety note. You need railings on your steps entering/leaving. Wow! I could not be more impressed with this business. Studio Dental makes going to the dentist super quick and basically painless (mentally anyways). The perks to being a business on wheels is you can provide several location options to patients. You just have to pick a location convenient for you and choose from the available time slots, all online! My first visit took an hour and included x-rays and a cleaning. When you open the door, you're greeted by a virtual receptionist via video through an iPad. Talk about high tech. Colin greeted me and explained next steps before the dentist met me at the door. Dr. Creighton was lovely and very welcoming, it was hard to believe I was even at the dentist with how comfortable I felt! They have TVs on the ceiling you can view when the chair is tilted back. Dr. Creighton walked me through her process examining my x-rays and explained exactly what she was looking for in terms of healthy teeth all using the TV. Before the cleaning started, she offered to put on anything from Netflix to watch on the screen while she did her thing. I was happy to be distracted by Friends while I got my teeth "drilled" into. At the end of my appointment, Dr. Creighton gave me some tips on how to keep my teeth nice and healthy and Colin checked me out. He went over the whole bill with me before I left the suped up trailer. My insurance covered 100% of the visit so I didn't even have to swipe my credit card. Its hard for me to understand how and why other doctor/dental visits cant be as efficient as Studio Dental. And they do all of this out of their trailer. I engaged with four people during my visit at their physical office (two concierges), a dental hygienist, and a dentist, and they were all absolutely wonderful. They were also extremely helpful when I called before coming in and quick to respond via email. I had a bad experience at a dentist prior to switching over to them, and when I let them know I had some anxiety about it, they were incredibly kind, conscientious, and made sure that I was comfortable with everything happening. I also got to pick what I wanted to watch on Hulu, and they gave me wireless headphones. It made the cleaning go by really fast. Check-in was seamless with no physical paperwork to fill out. I asked about some additional services (Invisalign and retainers), and before I'd even left, they'd checked my insurance and provided quotes for the procedures with very transparent and easy to understand pricing. I can't recommend them enough and will be using them as my dental provider moving forward. read more

Initially, I loved the customer experience from start to finish and recommended them to everyone. I had 2 visits that were pleasant, but then my nightmare began when my insurance company incorrectly sent me 2 checks for the dental services I had received (~$600). These checks were supposed to go to the provider (Studio Dental) and not to me. I didn't deposit or cash the checks since I had no reason for the insurance company to be paying me. A few weeks passed by, and I was contacted by someone from Studio Dental asking if I had received checks from my carrier. I advised that I had and never deposited them. He explained to me that this was in error and for me to go ahead and cash the checks, and Studio Dental would send me an invoice which I could then pay. This didn't seem compliant to me, and I asked him to contact my insurance company and have them reissue checks to them and cancel the ones that I had received. He was confident that his suggestion would be the quickest, most efficient way of settling this billing issue. I then made the biggest mistake and agreed to follow his advice. For the next 4 months, I made about 12 calls to my insurance company, received 3 notices to repay the insurance company, wrote and mailed a letter indicating I had paid the provider their invoice, received a notice from a collections agency, called and explained the situation to the collections agency, called and emailed Studio Dental so many times I lost count, and still had nothing resolved. During this nightmare, I had told the guy who had given me the advice that I was receiving overpayment notices from my carrier. He said not to worry, that they would figure it out or he would handle it. I can't express enough how time-consuming and unnecessarily stressful this all was. The worst part is that I had initially voiced my concerns regarding the checks. I had wanted to avoid something like this nightmare from occurring but instead was led into it. They, as a provider's office, should have researched the issue prior to advising a client/patient to cash checks and pay an invoice directly to the provider. I remained patient for the most part through this ordeal, but the additional stress I had to deal with from them was not worth the visits at all. If I had a time machine, I would go back in time and never step foot in that dental trailer! read more

This was my first time at Studio Dental and it went so smoothly! Normally, dentists give me anxiety, but the staff there was so welcoming and extremely friendly. Laura, the dental hygienist, had me laughing amidst my bi-annual cleaning, and Dr. Fredrickson was so upfront and clear about my dental health and potential options I could look into in the future. Cannot recommend Studio Dental enough! I had my first exam and cleaning with Dr. Patel today. She was incredibly kind, gentle and professional, and explained everything she was doing. I've never had a dentist walk through my x-rays with me to explain what they are looking for before! Above and beyond. I also had a tiny chip in one of my teeth, and Dr. Patel explained the options and her recommendation and left the decision up to me. I chose to have the rough edge polished down a bit (complimentary!) and she did an excellent job -- tooth looks good as new and feels smooth. I was dreading finding a new dentist and now I can't wait to go back in 6 months. A+. ALSO: I had been in a little bit of a panic because I couldn't find my dental insurance card the morning of my appointment and couldn't log in to my benefits provider to find the information online. Because I signed up with my employer, they already had all of my insurance information on file and were able to bill the insurance company directly without me having to provide any info! My first experience was in their mobile unit and it was parked right outside of my office! The convenience was so valuable because I didn't have to take any time off for my appointment. I also can't speak highly enough of their staff. So kind, thorough, and patient with me as I ask questions and learn more about my dental care. Let me start by saying that I have had a dentist phobia since I was a kid. Eventually I found a great dentist that catered to scaredy cats like me. Then he retired. I first went to Studio Dental at the recommendation of my husband back when they were mobile before the pandemic. I wish I remembered the name of the dentist but she cleaned my teeth like never before. It was amazing and I was even okay without gas and stuff because she was so nice. Fast forward to many months into the pandemic. I finally get the courage to go back and not freaked out about Covid since I had been vaccinated and boosted. It's no longer mobile and their new offices are terrifying. It sounds like a torture chamber as soon as you walk in with drills whirring and echoing everywhere. Not ideal for a dental-phobe. The hygienist was nice enough, said I'd done a good job keeping up with my teeth even though it had been a couple years. Then the dentist came in and basically said that my teeth were in bad shape and that I need fillings and even a bone graft urgently!?! The main thing that I was concerned about was a sore on the inside of my lips that wasn't healing and I wanted screened for cancer. She brushed it off. Pretty sure that my teeth aren't about to fall out as implied and unless one of my existing fillings had chipped, I didn't need more. They are pretty much all filled. Then she insisted I buy a $45 tube of toothpaste which turned my teeth black. This on top of my husband's regular cleaning appointment a month before when she told him that he needed incredibly painful skin grafts that would mean that he could only have a liquid diet for weeks after. He also had no complaints about his teeth. Feeling a little scammed. I mean we didn't go through with the procedures and are now seeing another dentist who does not concur. So sure, fine for regular cleanings but beware of all the unnecessary upselling. read more

I'll admit I have been avoiding finding a new dentist since I moved to San Francisco (don't check my post history to see the embarrassingly long time I've lived here) because I am one of many in the population who find the whole experience really anxiety provoking. The few times I made appointments in the last few years, I would cancel and talk myself out of it because I had no dental pain... until last week. That sharp inhale when cold air hit what was surely a root canal (it wasn't) in the $10,000 of needed repairs (non-existent). So I went online, searched for gentle dentists in the area and using the handy online portal made a NEXT DAY appointment at the Taylor location with Studio Dental for a cleaning and X-rays. The next day availability guaranteed I went, and I'm officially sold. First, this place is so zen and relaxed, and I was greeted by name as I rounded the corner to reception. I'd filled out my paperwork prior to going so I took a seat for all of five minutes in a quiet waiting room without an expired magazine in sight before being called in for my cleaning. Cozy chairs, attentive hygienists and Dentists who listen (and even offered to not do anything that day if I was too nervous... like WHAT?!) Anyone with dental anxiety, THIS IS YOUR HAVEN. I feel respected, and treated like an adult with a genuine fear, not a child who needs to grow up. The noise cancelling headphones and Netflix are a bonus to the pricing (check their website for insurance acceptance) and being treated like a person not a dollar amount. I had a small filling today (one week after my initial cleaning, again their availability is astounding) and I was in and out in 38 minutes... couldn't even finish an episode of Great British Bake Off. Every encounter includes a warm handoff and today was a turning point in my lifelong fear of dental work. Plus I floss 2x a day because I've finally realized the gravity of taking care of your teeth. I thought most dentist office experiences were created equally. You know, go in get your teeth cleaned--leave with good or bad news about needing more work. But after going to Studio Dental, both their mobile and brick and mortar offices, I know that I was wrong. Studio Dental is a great company that really does put the customer's needs and comfort front and center. Firstly, the setting is really amazing and beautiful. That might not seem important, but it put me at ease to be in such a sleek and elegant space while getting my teeth worked on. They also have televisions on the ceiling to distract you while you are getting your teeth cleaned, cavities filled, etc. You can choose whatever you'd like to watch on Netflix and listen on the headphones while they work. It makes the appointment fly by. I have had a general check up, cleaning, and fillings with Dr. Creighton and she does an amazing, very thorough job. I have a small mouth and dental work has always been uncomfortable, but she did my cleaning and fillings without causing me any discomfort at all. My most recent appointment was with Dr. Park and she was also very skilled and lovely to work with. She did a very thorough oral exam, more thorough than I have ever had, which was great. At Studio Dental, they make sure you fully understand what your x-ray and other clinical findings mean and talk through all the options with you, making sure you really understand. With Studio Dental, I have never felt pushed into getting work done like I have at other dental offices. I definitely trust the folks at Studio Dental and don't hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of a great dentist. read more

On a high recommendation from a friend, I went into Studio Dental's gorgeous new office for a first-time cleaning last week, and was blown away by the facilities and the pleasant experience I had with Dr. Creighton. First off, their new offices are in a super-convenient location at 6th and Market. The modern architecture of the office is very different from what you think of when you imagine a dentist's office, and really eases your mind. All the equipment is new, clean, and modern. My cleaning was fast and efficient, and went by even faster as there are cool TVs with Netflix positioned over the very comfortable leather patient chair--I watched an episode of Planet Earth while getting my teeth cleaned. Probably the most pleasant cleaning I've ever had! Dr. Creighton was professional and kind, and gentle on my teeth and gums. I was in and out of there in less than an hour. If you're looking for a basic cleaning, Studio Dental is terrific. They come and park outside your office, have a swanky dental truck, check in is fast and efficient, and you get to watch Netflix while they clean. Very pleasant for a cleaning. They are also super friendly. My review goes south for the dental work I had done post cleaning. They told me I had two old cavities that needed a refresher, and could get me in later that week. What they didn't mention is that they are an out of network provider, so for at least my dental coverage, they came out to be more expensive then if I had gone to an in network (make sure you check on this if you are planning on going to them). Even after doing the math, I stuff figured it was worth it to go to them for the ease of the experience and how positive my cleaning had been. Shortly after the numbing had worn off, I realized how crooked my teeth were where the cavity had been fixed. I literally was not able to bite down without it being uneven, and it was visible too when you looked in my mouth. I don't know how they missed this during my appt. I reached out to get it fixed, but due to the mobile nature of their business it became a huge pain to go back in there and it became constant checking where they were at that week. In short, the cleaning was terrific, but I wouldn't recommend for any other dental work. read more

Really great experience getting a cleaning and checkup. Big black trailer is comfy inside and in roughly an hour got x-rays, a good clean, and a run-down of trouble spots and work to be done. Very friendly and professional. They parked around the corner from my work, so it was easy as. Will certainly book again when they circle back and I'm due for a regular checkup. Seeing other comments, I had checked with my plan to make sure I knew the coverage. In my case it was 100% covered, so altogether a very positive experience. read more

This is easily the most beautiful and comfortable dentist's office I've ever been in! I got a cleaning and was able to watch TV while it happened which made the whole thing bearable. The front desk staff is very nice and helpful and making appointments online is super easy to do. This is the best dental experience imaginable, I actually almost look forward to going now. Already visited a couple times for cleaning/exams and X-rays and it's fast, friendly, painless and incredibly efficient. Quick check in via a touch screen upon entry. The dentist will lead you to the comfy chair. X-rays are done with a handheld device that looks like a radar gun instead of putting you in a room with an intimidating cannon. They'll turn on Netflix and let you pick any show to watch. Cleaning and exam were very fast, about 18-19 minutes every time I've gone. I know since the average sitcom is 22 minutes in length and I don't get to see it to the end. Maybe that's the only negative of these visits :) Definitely recommend them just for the great experience. read more

I've been going to Studio Dental for the last two years and wouldn't go anywhere else! I love everyone who works there, the service is great, and I love the ease of use--from filling out paperwork online, checking in, and reviewing my information on the screen before leaving. I had a filling redone the last time I was there and it went great. At first I was a bit nervous that it was a situation that didn't really need to be filled, but seeing the before and after of what my tooth looked like was amazing. I also really appreciate that Dr. Creighton keeps a close watch on anything else that might look troublesome, but is honest in her assessments. Incredible service and staff. I am giving Studio Dental 5 stars not only for their excellent cleaning and general service, but also for their customer service and attention to detail. I came to Studio Dental for a chip in my front tooth and had it repaired the next day; 6 months later I shared that I hoped to get it redone at a later date because I was unhappy with how it came out and stuck out from the shade/texture of my tooth. They booked me for a free adjustment appointment and the second time...it looks absolutely perfect! They couldn't have done a better job. Last year when I started my tech job, they told me one of the perks they have is a mobile dentist office that parks in front of the office 1-2 weeks a month! Was pretty excited about this since 1. I'm not a fan of going to dentist...used to have a huge fear 2. My previous dentist was located in a part of town that was so difficult to get to, I'd hardly go. You're probably thinking...a mobile dentist office...what if it gets hit by a car or is it a trailer on the inside...how can it be comfortable/enjoyable? Well fear not...Studio Dental is AMAZING! Let's start off with the convenience of having it right outside your work place (or near your work). Takes me 2-5 min to get to the appointment. It's so simple and easy that I wish I had monthly cleanings. Setting up your appointment is super easy as well, with an online scheduler and all your receipts and info is email to you....no paper! The mobile dental office is beautiful with all the updated technology and since there are only 2 chairs, 2 dentist and 1-2 techs...you get this personalized experience like no other! Really love the team here...again, wish I could get monthly cleanings and check-ups just to hang with the staff...and this is coming from someone that hates/fears going to the dentist.
