Dr. Cheng is the best! From the beginning, she and her team have been transparent about the treatment process, making sure I know what we are doing, why we are doing it, how long it will take, etc. She and the staff are consistently warm and friendly, and despite being busy, Dr. Cheng always takes the time to say hello and ask how I am doing. Not to mention, my teeth are looking fantastic and way ahead of schedule, especially compared to other offices I also spoke with prior to choosing Dr. Cheng. Can't recommend enough! read more

I was under her care right before and in the beginning of Covid. I had Invisalign through her practice. Her bedside manner is horrid - very rude and pushy. Not the point. Ever since treatment my jaw click is terrible, it clicks and cracks constantly. An issue I never had. Additionally my lower front teeth show lots of wear. I got my 5 year scans done (a little late) last month and I have significant root degradation of my two upper front teeth. I have decades of teeth scans and the degradation only started after her treatment. Today I saw a different orthodontist - the changes that Dr. Cheng made to my bite makes my lower teeth contact my upper front teeth. It's lots of force to my front teeth. It's likely that their treatment and changes to my bite caused this. Not only has that constant contact likely caused root deterioration, I've had jaw pain and clicking, and my lower teeth are worn. I will be redoing Invisalign with a new ortho to correct these issues. read more

Using an alias, as further interactions are not desired. It's almost a relieve to know that her practice remains small and floaty so her fractured integrity won't spill into industries that actually affect people at scale. I just completed my 2nd alignment treatment with another phenomenal orthodontist, after my first deeply unhappy encounter with Dr. Amanda Cheng back in 2018. The difference in communication, service quality and the final result was staggering. At least with the second doctor, I was not questioned and condemned simply for not grasping an orthodontic terminology. After all, I didn't attend Harvard for a dental degree -- I came to receive professional care from someone who did. When I raised concerns about my teeth still being crooked before treatment was "completed," Dr. Cheng flatly denied it and refused to provide any way of measuring progress. In contrast, my second doctor carefully examined the issue, created a refinement plan, and delivered perfect alignment as a result. For the record, both doctors labeled me an "easy case". I wish her display of the Harvard certificate and the warmth of shared Asianness had been authentic rather than performative during those initial visits, but instead I left feeling hard-sold and manipulated -- and I truly hope no patient has to experience that again. read more

Had a pretty bad experience with this doctor. I was very frustrated and never felt my complaints were heard. Another ortho took over my case randomly after Dr. Cheng left the practice which I had no idea about. He was able to fix most of the issues (such as my mouth becoming worse than where I began). I have much evidence of me emailing about my complaints barely even getting responses. Happy to post them if needed. read more

Worked Dr Cheng's team for over a year now - the experience is excellent and their facilities is top notch. I had to get Invisalign treatment because I'm missing 4 molars. Dr. Cheng was able to come up with a treatment plan that closed a significant amount of gaps in my mouth resulting in needing just ONE tooth implant versus 4 implants. read more

Amanda Cheng - Art to look at while getting treatment - Orthodontists Near Me

Unfortunately, the doctor's assistant (not the doctor) called to apologize expressing "how sorry" she was and offered to give me a free AcceleDent device to remove my review. I accepted the apology and decided to continue treatment however upon going to the office after asking me to remove this post in office (to which I declined) I was met with an off brand sample. When noting to the assistant that this was not the AcceleDent as promised she said she "thought she had an extra" when she made this promise and realized once I came in she did not. I declined and she said she would call me later to confirm whether offering me an actual device was possible. I have not heard anything from the office since...other than the fact that they were changing offices. This practice is struggling and has been for some time. Negative reviews do little in the way of changing the doctor's behavior. I would urge anyone else to take these seriously. I regret that I did not. read more

Amanda Cheng - Response from business on 2/20/22. - Orthodontists Near Me

Update: After looking at the very sloppy records I received via Image Orthodontics (which bought Dr. Cheng's business), I wanted to make people aware there is documentation in my records of an alleged software failure which resulted in the total loss of patient charts in 2020. It seems our records and scans don't exist anywhere anymore - mine are just a messy PDF with some clearly retconned chart notes and the photos Dr. Cheng took when I finished my treatment. You'll have to start over from scratch. This is totally unacceptable. Sadly, Dr. Cheng sold her practice to Image Orthodontics without notifying any of her clientele. Image is now quoting us between $1,200 and $800 for replacement sleep retainers, as well as saying that our medical records simply don't exist in their system - if we want retainers, we have to come back to be re-scanned at our own expense. Trying to track down my records and access a standard of care has been a nightmare, so despite having really liked Dr. Cheng personally I regret ever having gone to this practice. Avoid Image Orthodontics, and don't believe that DTS is still an actual business - it's a ghost. It hasn't been in operation for years. read more

This review is to let people know 490 Post Suite 1124 is not Days to Smile anymore. It is now Image Orthodontics (which merged with Days to Smile) and Amanda Cheng is no longer a part of the organization. I signed up for a consult thinking I was going to see Amanda (and hesitated to even come in due to the mixed reviews about her) but she is not at this location. This business should be updated and marked as such. read more

I got my open bite fixed from Dr Cheng via Invisalign. My open bite was in my lower jaw and it was a very wide and I was not sure if it could be fixed just via Invisalign that too at the age of 30. The outcome was fantastic and people were surprised looking at my before and after images. Dr. Cheng is very knowledgeable and I couldn't recommend her any less for orthodontia treatment. read more

The office double charged me and my insurance. I paid for retainers out of pocket but they still charged my insurance for the maximum. So the office got $3000 for the retainers!! I asked them to correct the claim and refund my benefit since last May. They did not get it resolved until now and ignored emails from me and my insurance company. I really had bad experiences with the office and the way they treated patients. Please avoid this office if you can read more

Honestly had a terrible experience. I came in with such a simple request: to use Invisalign to correct my front teeth' midline alignment. It was supposed to take one treatment with a few trays and about six months. 1.5 years later (it literally took 3x as long as it should've), thousands of $$'s spent, and lots of back and forths with the doctor, I now have a mediocre alignment and a sore jaw. I mentioned multiple times that the rubber bands she told me to wear were messing up my upper/lower alignment and hurting my right jaw. After complaining enough times about it, I finally got the OK to stop wearing the bands, but the damage was done. I already messed up my bite, and now I have severe jaw pain and my bottom teeth aren't even aligned in the center. Not to mention, the midline that I initially came in for isn't fully corrected. Every time I expressed my opinion or concerns about what was happening and the prescribed treatment, I was continually gaslit. Every time I mentioned my jaw hurt or that the upper/lower alignment wasn't correct anymore, I was gaslit. She literally made me feel like I was the problem. It honestly seemed like the office was too busy pumping out Invisalign patients to actually care about having a customized plan for me or making sure my initial ask was met. If you want to be gaslit and put on a cookie-cutter plan - I recommend this office. BTW - scheduling is extremely difficult; you won't be able to get any follow-up appointments for like 3-4 weeks. read more

I started my journey with doctor Cheng years ago. I was having difficulties sleeping and it was severely impacting my quality of living. With her guidance I was able to get treatment to help with double jaw surgery. She worked closely with the surgeon make sure that I was happy with my smile. She's compassionate, intelligent and very detail oriented. I've returned after absence and she has been very accommodating. Ashley and Robby were able to find my existing Invisalign account and get me in the office quickly. I highly suggest this office especially if you have complicated case. Best to work with the best. read more

Amanda Cheng - Clean and open patient area - Orthodontists Near Me

I finished my treatment pretty quick, but at the end my teeth had dramatically changed in that time for the better. The best part of the treatment was the option to do virtual check-ins or visits if I wanted to. If not, there was an office. Either way, that flexibility was something I couldn't find at a lot of other providers. read more

Amanda and her practice are top 1%. Not because she went to a top school, or has awards, or is well-respected in her field; all of which are true. It is that she genuinely cares about every patient; remembers incredible details; and above all, delivers on straight teeth, even when she has to go the extra mile (which she did). Had the aligners for 2+ years. Went from a mess to straight. Epic. read more

Horrible doctor. Amanda would like to remind you she went to ivy school, unfortunately she never learned professionalism during her time there. Amanda has terrible bed side manners, just rude and an awful doctor. The entire time I went for treatment, she did very little and just cold during the visits. Zoe the administration assistant is just as bad never returns calls and is not helpful. After one of my "last visits" was done Zoe, the front desk assistant keep asking me to leave a 5 star review on yelp. Told her I did have an account, Zoe then told me to sign up for a google one and leave one there or use my wife's account. I refused and she did not seemed pleased. I think that's partially why they have so positive reviews on yelp. Don't be fooled by this place based on yelp. I thought I finished my treatment, but I never got my retainers from them, think they were not pleased I did not want to leave a positive review. Go to another place people, this place has shady vibes and just terrible service, I mean Just look at all the bad reviews, it's all been pretty consistent. Also, Amanda changs responses to each of the bad comments are unprofessional and pathetic. read more

I first started working with Dr. Cheng a couple of years ago. I had major issues with my bite and required jaw surgery. Throughout every step of the process, Dr. Cheng and her team were great across several dimensions: 1. First, they were great communicators. I always felt like I understood what they were doing and what the issues were. Any questions (and there were several!) were promptly answered. 2. My surgery got canceled a couple of times due to COVID. Each time, Dr. Cheng helped me review my options and treated me -- ensuring my teeth stayed in the right place. 3. Dr. Cheng referred me to a great surgeon and worked closely with him on surgical planning. I was very happy with the care I received and would highly recommend Dr. Cheng and her team to anyone! read more

I just completed my Invisalign treatment with Dr. Cheng- the whole process was very quick and simple! I went in for a consult and a comprehensive treatment plan was presented and explained to me. I was able to quickly start my orthodontic treatment and was completed with the treatment in less than 7 months. Teledentistry was also used to monitor my treatment progress and was very convenient, especially during COVID times. The results are better than I could imagine and I am very satisfied with my smile! I highly recommend Dr. Cheng for a convenient and quick way to getting the perfect smile! read more

Went here for Invisalign because of the good reviews. The service and result were a 3/5 and the patient management and billing were a 1/5. Overall 2/5. On the service, Dr. Cheng was friendly and competent. But I didn't feel like I received anything more special than what I could have gotten through my normal dentist. The results were ok. After 6 months of Invisalign treatment, I still have a tooth that's misaligned and a few gaps. There was only one check up between starting and ending treatment, so it was hard to know what the final outcome was going to be until the bonds were removed from my teeth and treatment was considered "done". On the patient management and billing, I'm pretty disappointed. Took me weeks to receive my final retainer. And a few months after my treatment ended, I also received a call from the billing department saying that my account was past due - a change in insurance was the issue. No note, no email, no phone call, or bill until it was 30 days late. I learned that the billing department knew about this issue 2 months ago, but was only just getting around to notifying me. What a headache. Tired of healthcare providers feeling absolved of any accountability for poor patient billing and insurance management. read more

Dr. Cheng, Zoe, and the team are absolutely amazing, and I am so happy with my smile Dr. Cheng created a treatment plan for me that fixed so many teeth issues that had been bothering me (and even ones I didn't notice), and I'm so happy with the progress. She has such a strong attention to detail and is really meticulous. She created an amazing treatment team for me that I trust, and she really cares about each of her patients individually. She's always there if I have a question and if anything urgent happens she is so on top of it. I've referred some of my friends as well and they've loved working with Dr. Cheng and they are all happy with their new smiles! I would highly recommend her to anyone, especially for adult patients who want to fix their teeth in a fast and discreet way! read more

I've been meaning to write this review but was hesitant to do so. Back in November-December of last year I was looking into getting braces. I received consultation from another place first but wanted to see what my other options were out there. I found this place via Yelp and was ecstatic to come in due to all the positive reviews of this place. Before I even came in, I told myself that I would choose this place no matter what - I was wrong! I came out of my consultation feeling stupid. When I asked my questions, I just remember Dr. Cheng turning side ways confused about my question. All I remember was I didn't feel great coming out of this place and immediately calling my other ortho. I have a severe case for my teeth: cross-bite, missing back tooth, and jaw misalignment. She literally sighed while looking at my teeth!! It made me feel horrible!!!! I could tell the assistant knew I was down because she was trying to cheer me up. Really I'm giving this place +1 star because the assistant was really kind and had great customer service. Also during the consultation, I was recommended to get tads while the other place didn't so this was another reason why I didn't go with this place. Although this place is highly rated, I thought people should hear a different side to it too. I recommend people to always get a second opinion and look at their different options. I'm sure Dr. Cheng's work is great but my experience left me with a bitter taste. read more

Had Dr. Cheng install my Invisalign about a year ago and I just got them out. My teeth are straight and feel better than ever! It's so much easier to floss now and food doesn't get stuck in my lower teeth like it did prior to my Invisalign treatment. The crowding in my lower teeth is completely gone! Dr. Cheng is awesome and remembers who you are when you come into the office and picks up where you left off in conversation. She's very personable. The office is also super nice and the staff is friendly. Highly recommended if you need straight teeth. read more

I found the orthodontist to be rude and mean. I decided to end the treatment even I had to pay the full price.

Really great overall experience and I'm excited to start my treatment. I was recommended to Dr. Cheng by my long time friend who is a dentist. She said she's only seen top quality work done by Dr. Cheng. I did my own research and decided to give the office a chance. It was so easy to schedule my initial appointment. Dr. Cheng and her staff are extremely kind and most importantly competent. Dr. Cheng has such an impressive (and intimidating!) resume. Her confidence in my treatment plan makes me feel comfortable moving forward with treatment. The office has a very a strong covid policy-- it was nice to see all their extra precautions. I felt very comfortable and safe there. I've been putting off aligning my teeth for years and it's really taken a toll on my overall health and affects my everyday life. I had an amazing experience at Amanda's office. I had a bad under/cross bite that required surgery. Amanda spent time with me during the initial consultation to explain what my options were and gave me her honest assessment. I was terrified of the idea of surgery and Amanda actually made me feel comfortable with the process. It was a 2.5 year journey that absolutely changed my life after seeing my new bite. Even during the months I could not visit the office to get treatment, Amanda and her team checked on me multiple times just to see how my recovery was going. I would highly recommend Days to Smile for anyone considering braces! read more

Worst experience ever. If I could give negative stars I would. I've had braces in the past, and went in to correct my midline and correct my slightly crooked teeth from a lost retainer. Throughout the whole process Amanda had horrible bed side manner, and was extremely cold. I had the same attachment pop off on separate occasions and after each subsequent visit to have it re-attached Amanda was more angry to see me than the last visit. She would sigh deeply while re-attaching my bracket and was very short with me which made the entire experience extremely uncomfortable. I won't fault her for the attachment popping off since that can happen, but after a few visits of re-attaching the same bracket, she mentioned to me I would have to pay out if pocket for a visit if I had to get the bracket re-attached again. I agreed, and left the office. The same attachment popped off an additional time and I knew that I would have to pay out of pocket for my next visit to have it re-attached. I assumed it would be a nominal fee since she was just adhering a single bracket to my tooth. It ended up being $300. To re-attach one single bracket. Who charges $300 to re-attach a bracket? During my last visit I checked in with the front desk and it all went downhill from there. Amanda walked over to the reception desk, looked at the computer, didn't even greet or acknowledge me and then stepped away. The receptionist then mentioned I would have to pay the fee which I expected. After speaking with Amanda briefly, the receptionist then told me in a hushed voice that instead of paying the $300 re-attachment fee I could write Amanda a positive 5-star Yelp review. I had to write it then in that moment and show it to the receptionist in order to have the fee waived. I refused to write the positive review as it is unethical to ask for a 5-star review on Yelp in exchange for service or something of monetary value. The receptionist was clearly very uncomfortable with the entire situation. Amanda should not impose that her staff participate in such unethical behavior. I've seen other reviews from individuals who have had a similar experience with her terrible bedside manner and overall negative experience. I know Amanda will respond with some excuse or that I'm not really a patient but this would be a lie. I have the payment agreement/screenshots of payments made to Days To Smile and can post screenshots as proof. It's clear the only reason her practice has a 5-star rating is because she offers a monetary incentive/discount in exchange for a 5-star positive review. Heed the multiple negative reviews and do not give a dime to Amanda Cheng. Edit: Responding to Amanda's comment. My bracket did not break off 6 times, and I was charged that exorbitant amount of $300 to re-attach the bracket the second to last time I visited your office. There was no argument and my treatment was paid in full. I paid the $300 instead of completing the 5-star review your office requested of me because it is unethical to ask for this. My refusal to your receptionist was kind and to the point as I expressed I would not be writing a 5-star review. It is a lie to insinuate your receptionist did not ask me to write the review as she did in fact ask this. If Amanda's disappointing response wasn't enough, steer clear from her office. This is how she treats her patients. read more

Horrible orthodontist. Tells patients they don't have to pay for something if they write a 5 star review. Amanda Cheng is unethical and a cold person. She'll claim I'm not a patient or make up some excuse but its all lies. Don't trust her with your teeth. I just saw Amanda Chengs response and she did exactly what I thought she would do. I came to Dr. Cheng with a very complex case in late 2019. My previous orthodontist was inattentive and unresponsive, at best, and by the end of my prior treatment, I was at risk of loosing teeth. I needed old braces removed, periodontal surgery, and a custom retainer, but there was a real possibility I could lose teeth along the process. As someone in my early 30s, this prospect was horrifying and nerve-racking. There were times where I felt like crying, but Dr. Cheng and her colleagues handled my case with the utmost warmth, skill, and attention. I felt that Dr. Cheng really cared about my health. Throughout every step of the process, she went above and beyond any other dental provider I had in the past. Actions speak louder than words and Dr. Cheng: --- Took a comprehensive history and reviewed past x-rays and dental records notes to really understand my case --- Developed a treatment plan with with my dentist and periodontist to ensure my dental health was taken care of before removing my braces (vs pushing forward with her removal part) --- Was empathetic, but upfront about potential tooth loss, setting clear expectations for my outcomes (vs sugarcoating my situation or aiming for overly ambitious, unrealistic results) --- Vetted multiple labs to find one who would take a custom Invisalign request that would work around my braces I am so grateful for the care I received from her and her colleagues. You'll be in good hands with Dr. Cheng and I truly can't recommend her enough. read more
