My hair looks so amazing! Iza Ligas is amazing and she's so cute and sweet and she did a wonderful job!

Fabulous salon. I highly recommend Aneta, she is a wizard with hair color. Wow just wow. I came in with a photo and she matched my hair perfectly. She took her time, I was there for 3+ hours and was so gentle with my hair. She did highlights and balayage and root touch up, literally the works. And the prices are fabulous for the service you get. The highest quality products, even the hair color smells great from the mixing bowls lol. It is almost like a private salon, I was there with my baby and she was so patient with me if I had to feed her or tend to her. Where else can you come with a teething baby and get your hair looking amazing?!! Book your appointment now, I already booked another keratin treatment. Thank you Aneta, you are the best in what you do!! read more

Anetta is absolute magic with a pair of scissors. I've been coming to her for years and she always somehow knows exactly what I'm looking for and gets it just right! read more

I have been a client of Anette since 2015. At the time I lived out of state but would visit the area on the regular. I like to change up my hair from time to time. With that said, I started with wanting pink highlights. Since then I have gone from auburn to platinum to white to blond from overall color to highlights. Whatever ideas I have, Anette makes them a reality. She will offer suggestions as well, but always listens and responds to my requests. I ended up with her as my stylist even though I lived out of state. Now I live locally and she even got me through the pandemic with color kits. Anette is moving her business down the street in Highland Park and I had a little confusion on how to reach her. She assures me that she will always have her cell number for business, which is 773-505-9493. read more

I just had the most amazing experience with Aneta. She was kind and warm from the second I walked through the door. I haven't had a haircut in a year but will not go another year before my next one! The salon is cute, clean, and there was ample parking. I cannot wait to come back! read more

Hannah has been cutting my hair for over 5 years and gives me a better haircut than anyone else ever has. She's the best! She listens to what I want, remembers what I like, and gives great suggestions. I like to color my own hair and have never felt any annoyance on her part. She has even given me hints for how to do a better job. She and Aneta are understanding and accommodating during these recent covid times. If I could give 86 Hair Studio 10 stars I would. read more

These wonderful colorists/stylists have moved just down the street from their previous location and can still be reached at 773 505 9493. Anette has done my color for years. Before I even moved to the area I would plan family trips around having her do my hair! She listens and is honest about what will work best. She put pink in my hair no problem when nobody else seemed to be able to. Then she helped me get back to my natural color with highlights no problem. These are the nicest kindest hairstylists I have ever been to. Highest recommendation. read more

i don't know why, but I was at first intimidated to go here - i think it's because their website looks all fancy and European-like lol But when I saw an Amazon deal for a keratin treatment I thought i'd give it a shot...... i am SO glad i did! I just went this morning and Hanna did a FANTASTIC job! I had never gotten a Keratin treatment, so I was a bit nervous, but she explained everything to me, and she did such a beautiful job on the haircut I got with it. Hanna is also super nice and I had a great conversation with her for the two hours I was there - not too gabby but not too quiet either :) The atmosphere of the place is really cute too. It has a homey quaint feel to it, yet also trendy, and it is in the perfect location in Highland Park. They also have a private lot free to customers. 86 Hair Studio has only been open for a few months - definitely check this place out and help give it some new customers! I honestly never go get my hair cut or fixed, and I don't live in HIghland Park, but after coming here, I really can't imagine not coming back! read more

I moved to Highland Park a few months ago and was in desperate need of a haircut because it had been a year since my last cut and the Pocahontas look wasn't working for me. I did my usual research online and found this salon on Yelp. It also helped that they offered a voucher to be purchased online. I am a stay at home mom of 3...which includes a 3 month old baby. I had no choice but to bring my baby, since at the last minute, my husband was unable to watch her. I reluctantly brought her along. The only child care I have is well...me. I was really nervous about bringing her to the salon because I know how people can get when they hear a crying baby. I walked in and was happily greeted by Annette and Hannah. Annette cut my hair and did a fabulous job. She took her time cut just the right amount while still leaving a nice length to my hair. What impressed me the most was her understanding of my situation. A few times my baby cried a bit and Annette was so kind and asked if I wanted to care for her. She stopped what she was doing so that I could tend to her. She positioned me next to the stroller so that my daughter could have eye contact with me. Businesses like this that are understanding like this, get 5 stars in my book. read more

I needed my hair color fixed ASAP for a wedding and Aneta fit me in the very next day. She listened to what I wanted and executed it perfectly. I was worried a little because I have very thick and curly hair but she knew exactly what to do. She was also very nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend Aneta to anyone who needs their hair colored and I will be coming back in the future. Thanks 86 Hair Studio! read more

Coming from LA and moving to Highland Park I was a little concerned about finding a good stylist that would match my tatted yoga loving creative artist in LA. My hair is an asymmetrical bob (short on one side longer on the other). Happy to say that Hannah was exactly what I was looking for and did an amazing job! She was very detailed but also able to cut my hair without too much instruction. Also not overly chatty but talkative if you initiate with her. Didn't feel rushed at all during the cut, but then again my appointment was on a Thursday morning. Very happy with her work. I'll definitely be back. Worth the drive if you live somewhere else. read more

I've been to 86 Hair Studio 3 times, and each time I've had a consistently great haircut. Also just got highlights which I was a little nervous about going in. But I didn't need to worry. Anetta is an artist and knows exactly how to bring out the best in any haircut or style! I'm so glad to have found such a gem of a hair studio, and will definitely be back for my next haircut! read more

I have a hard time finding a great stylist who is talented and actually cares about her clients. Hanna is amazing! If you're looking for an amazing stylist I highly recommend Hanna! I love 86 Hair Studio! read more

Purchased an online deal and was blown away by both my color and cut! Hanna spent as much time as it took to give me the look I was after. The highlights couldn't have been better and she took the time to recondition my hair, so I left with the best hair I've had in years. Looking forward to returning. I would absolutely recommend Hanna, she's great. read more

I have tried at least a dozen different hairdressers over the years. Wedeal helped me to find Yelena... That was pure luck. She is just great! Very nice, professional, and knows what needs to be done to my hair. She also uses very good products. Since I found Elena, I stopped looking for a "better deal" or "trying something new". I normally do everything together - coloring, highlights, haircut, blow dry. Elena is definitely the one I will continue going to for all my hair needs (until she gets tired of me :-)). I highly recommend her. read more

It took more than few disappointing experiences with different salons and stylists, until I discovered this salon through Yelp. The owner has awesome reviews and I was very excited to schedule an appointment with her, but on her limited days at the salon she was totally booked for weeks ahead. Therefore she referred me to Dessy, the other stylist at 86 Hair Studio. My first appointment went great from the beginning to the end! It began with a free consultation in which Dessy and I discussed all of the concerns I had about my hair and looked up pictures online to find the style of my desire. She gave me natural sun kissed looking highlights and just the right amount of layers, and my hair felt shiny and healthy. I loved the fact that she used color instead of bleach, which has damaged my fine hair in the past. Since my first appointment in July, I've been back few times and Dessy has always delivered consistent results. My hair looks happy and I'm very satisfied :-) read more

86 hair studio has a lovely rustic modern ambience and the stylists are friendly and accommodating. I went there for the first time this summer to change my hair from brown to red and with my second treatment a few weeks ago, the transformation is complete. I love it! read more

On a whim, I decided to get a major haircut and picked Salon 86 mostly because they could accommodate me pretty quickly. I was a little nervous when I arrived, having been loyal to a stylist in the city for the past 5 years. But the haircut was actually great! Hanna was really sweet and did a great job. I did not like the way she styled it (which I would say is the norm with my hair), but after I washed and styled it myself, it looked great! She gave me the exact style I wanted and totally tailored it to the type of hair I have. Plus, it's a great deal! read more

Finally saw Hanna for highlights, as well as a haircut -- and she does both brilliantly! I like getting my hair highlighted and cut at the same time and by the same person... it's more convenient for me (so many salons have separate stylists and colorists these days). Hanna is super talented at all the hair services she performs. This is definitely one of Highland Park's best kept secrets -- it's a quiet, modern, and NOT pretentious salon. Definitely works for me. read more

Really like this place - it's kind of off the beaten path in HP but am so glad I found it. Got my hair cut by Hanna who is just amazing. She's about the nicest person I have ever met (she is the owner) and was very thorough with my hair to make sure it looked perfect. After months of going into the city to get my hair done, SO happy I have finally found someone by my house I can trust with my hair :) read more

I recently saw Annette for a haircut - she did a fantastic job. She clearly knows how to cut and style hair to fit a persons needs, style and to make it look flattering on them as well. She showed great attention to detail and does very high quality work. I highly recommend her! read more

Very welcoming and nice place.I come here to get haircut and color from Yelena...she is the best. She is the person who takes great pride of her craft and is constantly educating herself to keep up on the latest styles. read more

I had such a fantastic experience at 86 Hair Studio recently! I have gotten a keratin treatment before back in NC but paid several hundred dollars for it, and I wasn't too thrilled with the results. I have extremely difficult curly hair so I was skeptical about it actually working, but I kept hearing great things about it from a friend of mine - so I decided to give it another try. I figured a LivingSocial deal was the right way to try it again. I paid $132 for the treatment and a haircut and I'm SO pleased with the results! My hair is so much easier to care for now and shinier. My flat iron time has been cut in half! Hannah is excellent. Professional yet also very efficient. She did a job that the other salon took three hours to do. Location is also great in downtown HP. I really hope this salon makes it! She is talented and sweet. I will certainly be back! read more

I'm so happy that I trusted the positive yelp reviews and found Hanna. I've had blond highlights for 10 years+ and wanted to try something darker. Hanna was very thorough in matching my darker underneath color and did a fantastic job keeping a few highlights while coloring the rest of my hair. She did a good job setting my expectations about how it might be slightly shocking and a lot darker than I was anticipating. I have long, thick hair and she gave me a beautiful haircut and layers as well. I have received a ton of compliments from ladies and gents alike and will definitely be back. read more

Great cuts, very nice people, pleasant atmosphere, good value - well worth going there.

This place cancelled 2 hours before an appointment. All the stylist said was "sorry." I had made my appointment 5 days prior. I was referred to this place by people who live in the area. I was in a pinch to get my hair done for a wedding for the upcoming weekend. I had to set-up another appointment last minute. This was poor customer service and after this I would never recommend this place. read more

I went to see Annetta a few months ago for the first time, and I STILL get compliments on my hair to this day! The Studio is just down the street from my house tucked inside a cozy corner of a small commercial building in the quieter part of town. Annetta was incredibly sweet -- not only did I have a great time getting my hair cut but I really enjoyed getting to know her. I sent her a few pictures of the style I was looking for and she more than delivered. Can't believe I didn't check this place out before! read more

Needed a last minute haircut and after the reviews decided to give this a shot and WOW!! I am normally terrified of haircuts and hate having to go but Kelly instantly put me at ease. She recommended a conditioning treatment that made my hair not only silky but boosted the color and shine. But the best part was the cut!! She understood what I wanted and completely delivered, ending it with a gorgeous blowout. I went to work and reaped the glow of all try compliments! I am telling everyone I know to come here and even made an appointment for her to blow it out on Saturday!!!! Thanks Kelly :-) read more

Hannah is great! I tend to have hair color that picks up red and she is great at countering it to give me the natural brunette color I feel most comfortable with. She is opinionated (in a helpful way) and also give great cuts. I have been going to her for a couple years and am always happy. I prefer one person to do both cut and color - which Hannah does and is wonderful. read more

Tryst beauty. Yelena kholodenko is just fabulous. She is very accommodating, professional, personable, and does an amazing job on my hair. I have my hair cut, colored and get keratin treatments from her. I highly recommend her. Thank you so much Yelena!! read more

I was happy the first time I booked with Anetta for a cut. Very good cut and professional. The second time I felt because I am new to the area, I could settle for the "trainee". It took 3 and a half hours to get highlights and a cut! Sadly, I don't think I will return as you don't seem to value my patronage. read more

I came here because on yelp it showed reasonable price for cut and color but when I went in it was definitely on the higher side. I called before to say I was getting color, highlight and cut and they said no problem, so I went in. Both of the girls were there, Hannah was already doing someones hair who looked like a regular and was doing a great job, she must be the leader here, I had Kelly who when doing my color, first off painted it straight onto her gloved hand, then proceeded to take the foil and crumple it around the colored pieces from the bottom up! I don't think she has ever colored before! good thing I was ok with her simplifying my color to just two highlighted pieces on either side! I should've known from the beginning when she had to ask Hannah what to do! to top it off she didnt even cover all the pieces I had that were still highlighted so Hannah had to tell her how to fix that last minute. It didn't turn out to be a complete disaster but the cut was also only mediocre. Not sure whats going on here but if they're going to have someone practice doing color, I should've been informed and definitely shouldn't be paying for it! I would be careful who you get an appointment with at this salon. read more

I booked my appointment online for a wedding up-do and wedding make-up. I then called the salon to confirm the appointment, and they told me everything was set up. The day before my wedding, I received a voicemail from Hanna saying that there had been a mistake, and that there was no one available to do my makeup. She apologized, offered an appointment at a different time, and said she hoped I was not the bride. When I called back, I informed her that I was indeed the bride, and asked her to please find a make-up artist for the appointment as scheduled. She insinuated that the problem was that I booked the appointment online. She was, miraculously, able to find a make-up artist at the last minute for my appointment. I emailed Hanna pictures to the address she gave me for what I had in mind for my hair, which she did not receive. My hair turned out beautiful, and my make-up turned out beautiful, and I could not have been happier with the results. But when it was time to pay, the bill was $50 more expensive than what was listed when I booked the appointment online. I didn't need the extra stress. If you're going to have an online booking system, at least make sure the prices are accurate. And please, PLEASE, don't let people book appointments that you can't actually provide. read more

I was in a search of a good hair salon, so after reading some reviews on the internet, I got a Groupon deal, and I can happily say I found it! I came to 86 Hair Studio because of the groupon special; Kelly gave a great keratin treatment service and haircut. Since then I came back for another haircut. I was so happy to discover this terrific salon close to home in Highland Park. Great service in a low key atmosphere... Kelly did a wonderful job on my Global Keratin.
