I have practiced legitimate traditional yoga for almost 20 y and all over New England and wherever I have traveled....this place by far ranks at the bottom of the list ...if you want ego based instructors...that call some strange combination of animal flow ...pilates...and a little Yoga thrown in the mix while listening to Mississippi woman...Ronnie James Dio...and Led Zeppelin blaring on a filthy floor with the sweat of 30 people from the previous class still in puddles with no cleaning between classes and getting a stubborn bacterial infection.... have some creepy instructor rubbing your sacrum ...running their hands down your vertebrae and rubbing your neck..THAT IS NOT A ADJUSTMENT!!! If it feels WRONG IT IS!!@....with absolutely zero sense of community in a studio that feels like you are in a parking garage above a bar then this is the place for you....AND THE ONLY PLACE THAT I HAVE EVER PRACTICED THAT USES THE COMMAND ...EXALT ALOT .!!! ...Health and wellness is not what this place is about at all...more like a smug motley click of exercise junkies in some competition ....and I had gone there once when she first opened and it was the same then ...the only reason I just spent the entire winter and idk 650d going there was too try and heal from very severe trauma I had experienced...which REAL YOGA is very helpful with and to sweat...detox...but only hurt my body from Ego based classes and a nasty bacterial infection from the filthy floor that in 5 months of attending I only saw a cleaning service in the locker room once and never did I see the floor being cleaned and I went to back to back classes many many times...and no cleaning occurred...I spent 100d on a new mat there which I threw out after it being on the filthy floors and the sweat of the entire population of the place in it !!! And still have not healed from the bacterial infection I acquired there and its been well over a month and alot of Epsom salt bathes. Like most westernized things Yoga has been reduced to a narcissistic money grab..a big business....and I have come to the conclusion that being in a crowded hot oxygen deprived DIRTY room wearing some overpriced recycled polyester yoga outfit ie plastic on a expensive mat made of who knows what ??listening to some guru wanna be give commands IS NOT A HEALTHY CHOICE! And its not just this place ...most of them...this was just the worst example I ever experienced.... you vote with your TIME and MONEY..keeping mine and back to common sense and the best things in life are free...walking and getting fresh air ...stretching... feeding my mind.. body and spirit..not depleting it ....EXALTING THE LORD NOT SOME FREAK THAT THINKS THEY HAVE BECOME SOME DEMI GOD ...and if the saying cleanliness is next to Godliness is true well ...thus place is the anti Christ! read more

Best yoga in capital district! Michelle is not only an amazing, motivating instructor, she's also one of the nicest people I have ever met. All of her teachers are excellent!! read more

I took a "hot vinyasa" class and it was not a hot vinyasa at all. Lots of standing around watching the teacher demonstrate handstands....I think we did warrior 3 and standing split for the majority of the class. Room was not hot. I don't know if teacher wasn't prepared or was a beginner but he seemed to be winging it and not very well. Really disappointing. (Sat. 4pm with Marc S.) read more

Some great instructors, calm and beautiful space. Good packages available. I would recommend.

FINALLY!!!! Finally I have found a great yoga studio in this part of the country. I have been traveling to Albany for work since November of 2018, every single time I come up here I try a yoga studio. Every single time I have been let down, disappointed and left needing to go back to the hotel room and use their gym. This morning I dragged my coworker to this little gem. We were greeted by a warm & welcoming lady named Joni who was the instructor. She signed us in, the owner popped out and gave us a tour. What a wonderful, positive, welcoming, restoring space. I felt excited to take this class and OMG I was NOT disappointed. I got to start my day right, I had the ability to continue not only my practice, but to practice self care when I'm so far from home and away from my normal routine. There is good yoga and sometimes, you have to wade through a lot of other stuff to find the good stuff. I found the good stuff at Studio 4. If you are reading this, and you want a really great yoga experience go to Studio 4. read more

I love Studio4. I recently moved to the upstate New York area from CA and had a baby less than four months ago! I kept telling myself I need to find yoga classes and this studio is less than two miles from home! The location/parking is perfect for everyone! Very close for Union College students/locals in the area that includes me. A very clean studio with warm/hot yoga classes, as well as Pilates, yoga workshops and even personal training sessions. I've been to four classes and absolutely love Michelle's hot yoga classes and Lynn's Warm Foundations. For a beginner like me, they work and suggest different poses for all levels. What I love is the last five minutes of the class I look around me and we are all so relaxed and feel very proud of what our bodies just accomplished. The workout is tremendous and the instructors are all so very helpful! They have a variety of classes on weekends which is really convenient when I just get too busy during the weekdays with work! I highly recommend checking out Studio4, this place delivers and there's something for everybody. read more

My wife and I have been taking classes here for about a month and have been loving it. The facilities are very nice and new, with separate locker rooms for men and women, and including showers (which can be good, because you will get extremely sweaty if you are taking a hot yoga class.). There are a number of teachers that rotate throughout the schedule, and I haven't had one that I didn't like yet, each has a slightly different style of class which leads to a nice variety of poses etc. I haven't been to any of the Barre or Pilates classes, but have thoroughly enjoyed the yoga classes and would highly recommend. read more

Took a HIIT class. It was great. Good instructor and programming. Love to come back here when I'm visiting the area. I've been 3 times now and it's always a good experience. read more

When I was looking fo a Pilates/ yoga studio I first asked for advice from people I knew then checked out reviews. Once I narrowed my search down I checked the class schedules. Studio 4 seemed to be the one I would try first. I decided to sign up for the 10 day unlimited trial. During those 10 days I took almost all the classes they offered with as many different instructors as I could. I liked every class and every teacher!! They were all so nice and friendly. Each teacher offers vocal cues during the classes to keep you on track but they never call you out individually or make you feel uncomfortable. If you need to make adjustments they will help but always in a positive way. The studio is clean and has great parking. This ended up being the only yoga studio I checked out because I was so happy with it. More than 6 months later I still feel the same way. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Studio 4. Michelle is a Yoga teacher in a caliber of her own. As an athlete, I have been to many yoga studios as a way to compliment my training and I have often found yoga boring. This is not the case with Studio 4, Michelle keeps things interesting with a unique flow each class and offers progressions throughout the class to make it accessible (and fun) for all levels. Her attention to breath work and body awareness has translated to all aspects of my training and life outside of the gym. This studio is a must see for all. read more

My friend and I took beginner's mat pilates with Kim who was upbeat and encouraging. A small class of 3 felt like a private lesson. It was a great 45-minute session to help get back in the swing of working out; I only broke a little bit of a sweat and my abs feel great. This was my second time at Studio 4 and I can't wait to go back for a third time. Hoping to go to hot vinyasa next week. The studio is clean, modern, and inviting. All staff are very pleasant. Also, there is a brewery in the same building and Firestone 151 right next door which seems like the perfect hangout for a friend or significant other who wants to opt out of yoga. Overall great experience and I highly recommend! read more

I really enjoyed visiting this studio. The yoga class was well structured and the classes are not taught by a script but thoughtful vinyasa. The facility is clean and the teachers friendly. read more

Visiting Schenectady for a family event and stayed at the DoubleTree across the street. Found Studio 4 while on a search for outdoor places to run. Never found a good place to run, but found a sweet place to do hot yoga. I never thought Schenectady would have such a hip place like this and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was welcoming, the online class scheduling and purchasing was super convenient. $16 for a hot yoga class, then I rented a mat and towel for $3. The class was packed and the instructor was great - what a workout! Coming from Boulder, where these studios are as prevalent as breweries, I have a good feel for a good studios versus average. This certainly rivals some of the better ones in Boulder. I walked there from the updated and nice Doubletree, so the location could not have been better. read more

Can't say enough about this studio. Just love it. Great people , great place. My experience the first time I walked in was awesome. I was given a Manduka pro mat with a towel and given a water. Which are all available upon request and a very small rental fee. My second experience, they remembered my name! Like a month later. Truly appreciate the opportunity to practice here. read more

Love going to Pilates class! Grace is a wonderful, capable, and enthusiastic instructor. The studio is spotless and well designed.

This is a GREAT studio and Schenectady is so lucky to have world class hot yoga! The instructors are as good as the best! the schedule is pretty comprehensive .. I only wish there were enough demand to have classes later in the evening summertimes .. since it gets dark later. The heat temps are not as hot as Bikram but high 90's allows for a great sweat out cleansing exercise - refreshing and gets the endorphins going full blast! I've frequented CorePower Yoga in Denver, Austin, Dallas, DC as well as Pure Yoga in NYC, Sunstone Yoga & Jean Baptiste (DallasSport) yoga in Dallas TX, also Bikram in Atlanta GA and Dallas TX. Studio4 is every bit as good or better than any/all of those programs. They've begun to offer meditation classes and I hope the attendance is positive enough that they will make this a weekly offering. The meditation practice is excellent, I need help to learn the discipline to do it .. 1 hr sitting still and quiet feels like 20 minutes! read more

This studio is absolutely fantastic!! The absolute best part of coming here is getting to work with the FABULOUS instructors. The class sizes are generally smaller which allows for personalized attention. They are all in incredible shape which encourages me and gives me the condifence that they can help transform my body as well. My favorite Pilates instructor is Traci Peters, I have learned so much from her already. She is an excellent trainer and has help me become stronger and more coordinated in a short period of time. I also have really enjoyed my barre classes with Kimberly Purdy. Her positive energy is contagious and it really helps you get through the more challenging exercises without noticing discomfort. I am so incredibly grateful that a barre/pilates studio opened up in Schenectady. This inside of the space is lovely, modern and clean. Take advantage of their introductory or monthly deals you will not regret it. read more

I recently went to studio four while visiting Schenectady and have to say I was really disappointed - they call it hot yoga but the classes fall short of what I would call yoga- more like a trendy stretching class that had no flow and the instructors have very little experience- all 200 hour local graduates of other local studios. They pay an odd assortment of music and the studio is dark -the instructors offer no advice or adjustment on poses in short it is a Macys quality studio with Walmart classes. read more

I am currently taking private pilates classes. I am brand new to pilates and Studio 4 has been great to work with. I have become a total fan of pilates and I notice the difference already. The studio is very nice and clean. I would highly recommend it. read more

Terrible experience with one of the instructors, tried to work with the studio owner for a resolution and found her defensive, inflexible, and unprofessional. There are several other pilates/yoga studios in the area that I have frequented over the past ten years and never have experienced such a lack of professionalism or poor quality of instruction as I did at this studio - check out ANY other studio for a better experience. read more
