Studio 200 is an amazing salon! Everyone was so kind, welcoming, and professional from the moment I walked in. I originally had an appointment with a senior stylist, but they called to ask if I'd be willing to switch to a blonde specialist. I was a little nervous because I had just gotten my hair colored brown the week before in my hometown. The moment I met Mariah, all of my anxiety disappeared. She is incredibly knowledgeable and truly an expert when it comes to hair. She thoroughly explained every step of the appointment and genuinely cared about maintaining the integrity of my hair and keeping my blonde healthy. She made sure my ends stayed strong and wouldn't break off. Mariah is also so personable and easy to talk to, which made the whole experience even better. I felt completely at ease in her chair. I live out of town, but I will definitely come back just to see her again. She was absolutely wonderful, and I couldn't recommend her more! read more

Had 2:30 appointment and got a call at 2:20 as I sat in the parking lot. Told my stylist was running 2 HOURS behind. Was told someone else could cut it in an hour. Came back and was told it would be another 30-45 minutes. Walked out. Never again!!!! What a $h!t show. Receptionist was a joke!!!! read more

I saw Manny for the first time for a haircut. He really took the time and talked to me about what I was looking for. He did a great job! read more

I walked up to the desk, the receptionist didn't speak to me, never said hello, how may I help you, good morning, nothing! I let her know I had an appt with Manny at 9:00, the only words she spoke were "he will be with you shortly." Never cracked a smile, nothing. She treated the two ladies who arrived after me the exact same way. The salon owner needs to reconsider this girl being their receptionist, first impressions are huge. I understand someone may be having a bad day but in a role like this you need to put your customer service hat on. Manny cut my hair, he did a nice job. I gave fewer stars because of the receptionist. read more

Went to Studio 200 for the first time today being new to the area. I was greeted friendly and happy by their receptionist. She makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. I had a whole new style complete by Grace. After we talked she knew exactly what I wanted. Her experience shows thru her work. The studio is upbeat and fun. I highly recommend this studio and they have other services available also. read more

Jimmy cut my hair so bad it has taken 9 months to get it straightened out just to look half way decent. One side was cut completely different than the other side. one side is much shorter so it has taken months letting one side of my hair to grow and getting the other side cut. it has taken getting my hair cut from someone that knows what they are doing for it to look decent. Whatever you do find someone else to cut your hair. read more

Starr fabulous hair stylist. She is always on time and friendly and engaging. The BEST

I went there to get a perm and what I walked out with is a frizzy Brillo pad. Once the stylist removed the curling rods, she ran her hands all through my hair fluffing it up to create volume and then used a fine tooth comb to brush it out. My hair is naturally wavy but now I'm going to need to use a curling iron to straighten it all out. On the back of my neck, where the towel was laid to catch the drips, the hair is fried. My hair is ruined and I was charged over $115 dollars for a frizzy perm and a slight trim. read more

I have been going to Studio 200 on SW Hwy 200 for many years now and have always been very satisfied with the service there. My hairdresser Taylor has been taking care of me for well over a year now since my original hairdresser moved out of state. I am so pleased with Taylor's experience and talent. She has the best personality and always listens to what I want for my look. Highly recommend Studio 200. read more

Great stylists but their new price increase to an already high price just doesn't cut it. Times are not that easy. Many customers are retired or working 2 jobs. I will be forced to cut my stylist tip in half and go less frequently. read more

curly girls beware. I went to Jimmy because he said he knew how to cut curly hair. He did not! The cut I received completely disrupted my curl pattern, every day is a horrible hair day now! Stay away if you have curly hair and you wear your hair curly. Not a friendly establishment either. read more

Came here last week for a single process color. Did my HW online first & sought out the most popular peeps based on reviews....am happy to report Sabrina is not only THE perfect professional she is super sweet too. The first time at a hair salon can be a nervous experience. She put me at complete ease from the moment we met & explained exery single thing being done to my hair. Am extremely bappy w the results & the salon has got a new fan for sure. Plus this place is HUGE ..I plan to go back & try a facial! read more

I walked in with mid length hair and left scalped. My hair is fine and straight and the hairdresser sliced and thinned my hair more. It's uneven, looked like a mullet and I had to recut my hair myself when I got home. This is honestly the worst haircut I've ever gotten. I specifically asked for someone good with long hair (I wanted layers) and this hairdresser said he had over 30 years experience. What a joke. I think a student would have done a better job. DON'T go here. read more

On vacation for the winter months I needed to find a stylist here in Ocala. Contacted Studio 200 n made an apt. They assigned me to Vicie who gave me a fantastic cut n color. I received so many compliments from people that I did not know. Today is my second visit before I head back North. Unfortunately I was not happy with my cut or color. 2 things the color was mixed incorrectly n cut was too short n did not like the blowout style. So between first n 2nd visit things were not consistent for $106 plus tip I was very disappointed. She may have had a bad day? read more

I had an appointment with Laura, the shop owner, at 12:15 today. I arrived 5 minutes early, checked in, and waited my turn. Around 12:30 the receptionist reminded her that I was there; however, she continued to chat with other stylists and never once greeted me or acknowledged that I was there. At 12:45 I left. If you're busy, I understand. But dont ignore your customers and don't make them wait a half an hour into their appointment times without speaking to them. Just say, "Hi, I'll be with you in just a few minutes!" After I left, the receptionist called me to see if I would like to make an appointment with another stylist. Why would I when the shop owner treated me like that?!!! And why didn't Laura call me herself and apologize? read more

This was a horrible experience for me! When I first arrived they told me my hair wouldn't be able to go lavender. I was a little upset about that but I told them I would be fine with a darker purple. The hairstylist decided to spend two hours on a test strand, only to tell me there was nothing else she could do. I asked 3 times if I could please just get a haircut and the manager told me to come back when I was in a better headspace. I was treated like complete garbage the entire time I was there. I ended up going to Hope Salon and low and behold she got the hair color I wanted on the first try and gave me an amazing haircut. DO NOT go to this salon! read more

Wow. I book an appointment with Livia at 315. I show up right before my scheduled appointment to get greeted by another woman at the desk who said she would be taking over the appointment. I was hesitant but was in for a 1 inch trim so thought it would be ok. I have long hair down to my waist and she snarled jt worse than jts ever been snarled in my whole life. She proceeds to just rip on these snarls with this wet hair brush until I finally can't handle it anymore and stop her. I brush it myself until the manager says I'm not allowed to use the hairbrush to brush out my snarls. So I left with my hair ratted up and my hair not cut. Wasted 2 hours driving here and back. Would never recommend. read more

I went in desperate because my former stylist wouldn't return my calls. My extensions were mostly out and I needed color. I was treated graciously and worked in. I am so sorry I can't remember her name but she was awesome and removed all my old extensions and did a BEAUTIFUL color on me. I ordered newer extensions and was told to come back the next day. I saw Vicie and she was AMAZING! So sweet and did an amazing job with the new extensions and cut! I am so happy to find a new salon so close that does EXCELLENT work! read more

I scheduled an appointment not knowing anything about the salon as I am new to the area. I had let my hair grow out for a year to give her something to work with. Victoria was my stylist/designer. She was fabulous! She understood exactly what I liked, and it turned out terrific. She showed it to me straight and I loved it, and then put in some curls with a curling iron. At first I was skeptical about the curls but loved them by the time I got home. Definitely the best hair style for me that I have had in quite a long time. I will be back! read more

I went here about 7 weeks ago to get the Hair dreams extensions. I already had them and liked them. I had gone to Gainesville but then found this salon in Ocala. I went for consultation and Livia selected the hair that was supposed to match what I had. She convinced me to go for the more expensive grade hair. I took her professional advice. I went for the install , LIVIA barely spoke a word to me. When I tried to tell her what I prefer she told me she was the professional and knew best. It didn't feel right. I didn't like what she had done but thought I would live with it until the next time. I had to go over seas to visit a sick family member. My sisters asked what I had done to my hair, looked awful. I had paid over $1000! I went back to the salon to ask them to take them out .I didn't feel like I should have to pay to remove the terrible job. The owner offered to sell me new ones that would actually match, what I had originally asked for, at a discounted price but only if I PAID another $150 to take them out. she sprayed alcohol solution on and broke the bonds, it took 1 hour and 15 minutes. It cost more than a full head of highlights! This was such rip off. I would not recommend getting your extensions here!!! The hair looked terrible. read more

I saw Nina Lee yesterday, and she was amazing and very professional! I went for a haircut and a balagaye. I was extremely pleased with the outcome. Since the time I got there till the time I was leaving she made sure I was comfortable and happy with the job. I'm definitely coming back to see her! If you need to get your hair done, you need to go and see her! She won't disappoint you! read more

My mother called this salon attempting to get a hair cut. She informed them she was African American. They stated they were capable of doing her hair. My mother called several times to make sure of the stylist capability due to her ethnicity. She was told again they were capable of cutting and styling her hair. My mother made sure because she was traveling from Gainesville, Fl to Ocala, Fl. 60 min drive. Which the stylist was aware. When my mother arrived she was immediately told they could not complete her hairstyle which consisted of a cut and style. I believe this was unprofessional as time and money was wasted. It would have been ok if they admitted ethnic hair was out of their scope. read more

My wife insists on going to have her hair done by Jimmy Dean, costing me over $120 a month!! Way to much to spend, when she barely looks much different when she gets home. Way overpriced and crooks! read more

You will apparently be treated well if one of Jimmy Dean's regular customers who write wonderful reviews ! I was new -confirmed my appt at 10:30 in person in his presence . Then was called at 11:30 asking to re-schedule! However-he only had 15 minutes at my time- no time even for a cut- I offered to come later-he was too busy. Given another stylist at 4 - Why EVER return? Maybe reviews are censored. read more

Walked into salon 200 with shoulder length hair, all one length in moderately good condition with a decent sheen and soft texture. I requested side bangs and a very modest hairstyle which was shown via photo. I specifically stated that I did not want texturizing, razoring, interior cutting, ripping, thinning, shredding. I stated that I did not want "string hair". Livia agreed with all that was said indicating that she understood my hair type and my desired end result. However, my hair has been shredded thru and thru, (starting about 2 inches from my scalp extending down to my shoulders) after I specially stated that I did not want the interior of my hair affected. There is not one strand that has not been affected. I was watching Livia cut my hair but was not able to detect the texturizing/shredding /razoring to intervene. I now have a head full of frizzy hair that has the texture of a horse mane. I have multiple thin spots and a ponytail looks like a ball of fried hair. If I use any type of heat to flatten out the hair, it looks like my hair is incredibly thin. The owner has refunded my money and offered a rectifying haircut. However, it will take two years for this shredded mess to grow back, after I just spent years growing the hair into one length. This hairdresser was recommended to me, however my experience has prompted me to forewarn you to think twice and use a different stylist. read more

The girl tried but I paid for hair color, what a mess! I'm not sure she has been out of school long??

Worse hair cut ever!! First time going to this Salon. Told the gal that I did not want to lose my length. Told her also that my hair has grows upward on one side and downward on the other so have to cut them different to have them even. She spent a good amount of time telling me what she could do to control the wave in my hair. Well the mess I was left there are no words for. The right side she thinned the under layers and the section above my ear has hardly and hair. Looks like a bald spot the left side is longer then the right and she did not thin like the other side. Iit is thicker and longer. The whole time she was cutting other employee were talking with her. They were complaining about a client, which is very unprofessional to do in from of an other client. And one of the hair stylist kept coming over say Beautiful, oh so beautiful. My husband was shocked to see my hair . I had a few people asked what happened to my hair. She was the owner of the Salon!!! I would not recommend this Salon. can't even give 1 star but cannot post without read more

I'm in town for a horse show at WEC. My hair was a mess, I googled salons in the area and came across Studio 200. Marissa was my stylist, she was amazing! Exactly what I wanted. I have avoided going to a salon for years due to past bad experiences, until I came across the manager, Megan, at studio 200. I entered with long hair looking for a new style. She took her time and listened to what I wanted. After my visit and new cut, I decided that I wanted my hair a little different. Megan recut my hair the next day without charge! The stylists all seem to get along. Good music and most of all compassion. I will only get my hair styled there now. read more

After having a not so good experience here a week ago and feeling very let down, this Salon, it's owner Laura, and stylus Livia went above and beyond to make things right. The owner reached out to me a day after I posted a negative review (it was a Sunday at that) to find out what had happened and what she could do to make things right. I was very impressed with this alone. She set me up with Livia who not only took her time explaining what she was doing, but making sure the correct color and products were used so not to damage my hair. The length that these two went to, to make me happy and to keep my business was above and beyond and I am thankful for their professionalism. I would highly recommend them. It is because of these actions, I will be a continued client. read more

At first I was so pleased that Studio 200 was in the same place I do my grocery shopping. I have not had good luck in my 4 years up here in Ocala with Beauty Salons. I read SOOO many good reviews about this place that I made an appointment. Big mistake...always go to the bottom of any reviews to the one star reviews and that is where you will find things like what happened to me. Long story short..I definitely will not be returning. I took in TWO pictures of me from last summer and how I wanted my hair done. It was actual pictures of ME, not pictures of some model with a great hairdo. The first words coming out of my mouth were "I DON'T want my hair cut on the bottom as I finally got it the length I want" I thought that was understood especially as he looked at the pictures. I just wanted a good layering job..mostly on the top part of my head. I am diabetic and the summers up here are way too hot and humid. Being from S. Fl. I was shocked to find out that the summers here are more miserable than down there. When it gets too hot I wear pony tails or just one pony tail. The first thing he did was start at the BOTTOM of my hair and started cutting. I must have mentioned this at least twice that I DO NOT want it shorter, but not being very talkative he said it was going to be "fine".I could see that it was already shorter than it had been when I walked in. Ok so I am an older woman BUT I do not like what everyone up here calls "wash and wear' with tight little curls and extremely short. I will NEVER wear my hair like that. Thankfully he did not make it that short but VERY MUCH shorter than I wanted.. When he was done my hair was still quite damp and it appeared HE was done. No blow dry..no nothing. He quickly left and went to the back and the girl taking the money looked oddly at me as whatever he did to my hair did not look done. After I got home I cried for two hours because I have no idea as to how to fix my hair now. It's way to short for Pony tails and...well it's hard to say what to do with it now.. My husband hates it and now I have to wait the whole summer season for it to grow out again. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Oddly enough today I did find a very large amount of bad reviews for this place...some people are even suing. Wish I had found this out before I went there. STAY AWAY from this place!!! I think its the best place on earth. You won't be dissatisfied with the service. Every stylist is worth their weight in gold.

I have spent years foolishly dying my hair by the box until jimmy came along and changed my hairs life! Following him from Ulta, and also living in Gainesville, I make the trip to Ocala for the perfect work he does! If that isn't enough to convince you, he was also selective chosen to be a hairstylist for New York fashion week, and as a fashion student I cannot stress what a huge deal that is! They only pick the best. If you've spent you time trusting box dye or mediocre hairstylists, waste no more time and come to studio 200 and let the amazing stylists change your life! read more
