I purchased a cute little top in the store yesterday and was so excited to wear it today. The only problem was when I put it on today with my crossbody bag, within one hour it had pilled where the strap crossed the fabric and was horribly damaged beyond wear. The fabric was obviously faulty, so I returned to the store for help in correcting the problem. Instead of help, I was told I could not return or exchange it, and in spite of my best efforts to make the store owner/manager understand, she kept reiterating the store policy and went so far as to threaten to call the police if I didn't immediately leave. As someone who lives on the island, I try to buy local and support our community. I have purchased many things in this store in the past; however, they have lost a good customer. A waste of hard-earned money and the most disrespectful treatment by a shop owner I have ever experienced. This is the worst customer service I have ever received, and I would warn anyone against a purchase here in the future. read more

I think I literally bought one of everything in the store yesterday.. well It sure did feel like it! My husband just happened to park in front of Studio 1220 and I decided to run in just to "look." Well, I walked out an hour later a happy girl. I came home to San Diego with nonsummer clothes for some reason and Studio 1220 had everything I was looking for. I love the clothes here! Everything here is perfect for summer with a boho touch. Think Free People but more affordable! Also, the store associates are AMAZING! Thank you, Jess and Ellie! The cutest & loveliest little find along the shops on Orange Ave. just a few doors from the Burger Lounge. Lots of clothing, shoes, hats, blankets, bags, jewelry, and even some bathing suits. I was very glad to find X-small sizes here! You will pretty much find everything you need for any occasion...from bed & bath, to gym, to party. Along with every day wear like jeans & tees, they have dresses, leggings, yoga pants, sports bras with & without padding, intimates, scarves, candles, soaps & bath bombs. This little shop really has it all...even cute fitting rooms. I found the prices to be fair compared to similar boutiques. I was happy to come across one of the new bathing suit bottom styles with the shirring detail at center back...which I purchased. I definitely plan on stopping by again on my next visit to Coronado Island. Can't wait to see what new styles they have in store. read more

Torrential rain and wind in Coronado? Who would have thought! I was stuck in Coronado while waiting for reasonable conditions for a drive back downtown. What is there to do on the island? This afternoon I walked into the store trying to get a T-shirt or a blouse for my wife that she needed it as an emergency for an event to start within an hour, I don't know much about women's size clothing and I can easily confused sizes, however the awesome and patient lady attending the business went out of her way to help me suggest styles and appropriate sizes for my wife. I finally on FaceTime my wife selected something she liked and the attendant help me get the right size. When I brought the blouse to my wife she was very happy and excited that I accomplished this task! But I want to sincerely thanks so much the gentil employee at this store for her help. I can't give this place zero stars because yelp won't let me, but trust me when I say this, they deserve it. This past weekend, my lady, younger brother, and myself went to shop at the del mar highlands center. We stumbled upon this small boutique. As soon as we went in, we were completely ignored by the workers. No assistance was provided, nor did they asked if we needed anything. My lady ended up choosing a small necklace and took it to the register. Upon arriving to the register, the worker didn't even bother greeting us. She simply asked if the necklace completed the purchase, and the sales associate finished the transaction. I would expect this behavior to occur if the store had a huge rush, but there was only one other customer in the store along with a second sales associate, and the sales associate at the register was too busy talking with her co-worker that she gave us no attention, even during check out. We live in a city that is a multicultural melting pot but apparently this sales associate (whose name I will leave out because I refuse to stoop to that level), hasn't gotten that memo. Maybe if we had dressed in designer clothing, we would've had some proper service. WE WILL NEVER GIVE THIS SHOP OUR BUSINESS AGAIN!! And I hope that whoever reads this, thinks twice before going to shop there. read more

Studio 12-20 is a trendy boutique with a rock n' roll edge. They have three locations and this one differs a lot compared to the store in The Forum in Carlsbad. The Del Mar location is nothing like what's featured on the Web. They cater to a bit more classier crowd still maintaining a very stylish flair. I really love some of their pieces especially the velvet dresses and jackets. It is sort of like Max Studio meets Courtney Love. The store is small and cozy and the service is low key. read more

Made my first purchase from this store while on vacation, and couldn't be more disappointed with my experience. I bought a silver ring with a pink stone in it, only after being reassured by the sales clerk that I wouldn't have any reaction to the metal, as it was a "type of silver"... wore the ring for less than hours, and my finger is swollen, itchy and red. It's now been over 24 hours since the purchase, and still reacting to the "silver," that was falsely sold to me. Upon trying to return it, merely hours after purchasing it, I was denied by the sales clerk because of policy... I love this boutique, I have been a loyal customer for years. I have seen some stores close near where I lived and worked (first La Jolla then Point Loma) but I would drive to their new locations because I really liked their style and customer service. Now, not so much. The door was shut right as I got there since the employee was going in break. Totally understandable, I didn't mind that at all. I ended up exploring next door and bought a couple of things at Pretty Please where I received exceptional customer service and I will make sure to write them a review. Then, I went back to Studio 12-20 once they opened. The doors were still closed but the place was open. I was not greeted, then I asked the only person there if she had some items, she said no and continued to do whatever she was doing on her phone. I found the items she mentioned she didn't have and I tried them on. I always get asked if everything fit ok, etc... whatever I can take care of myself so no big deal. Then I asked her if I could put them behind the counter to hold them, her response "for what?" I said I was taking them so she grabbed them for me. As I checked out, she grabbed the clothes and threw them in the bag which normally they are folded, wrapped and bagged (service I received next door) I'm so disappointed and hoping that it was just that employee. Great clothes, but awful customer service. I came in one afternoon recently and two female sales associates were working and they didn't even acknowledge my presence. In a time where customer service is vital to small businesses success, it seemed puzzling how the women completely ignored my existence. It wasn't until a older woman walked in dressed in designer clothing from head to toe when I noticed a change in their behavior towards customers. I was excited to stop into this shop after eating lunch in Coronado. It looked like a cute boutique with jewelry, apparel, candles, etc. upon entering the store, there were 2-3 other customers and no sales person to be seen. A woman standing at the checkout finally yelled towards the back of the store "can I please check out"?. A young girl ( looked to be about 17-18) came up front quietly to check her out. Afterwards my friend and I were still not greeted or spoken to at all!! We were in the store for 15 minutes and nothing! We were very interested in all of the jewelry, and wanted to to ask about a few things but the young associate was never around. Exterior and interior of this store are super cute, very trendy and hip. They have small succulents, which are very over priced, but what do you expect it's on Coronado island... so nothing cheap will come from here lol. Clothes is very expensive down to bralettes $37.00 for one, leggings for jogging $72.00 I understand if it were brand new but the bottom of the leggings looked like the stitching was coming out. The clearance was still over priced, final sale and the items were pretty damaged. I would shop here if the items weren't that pricey because the quality isn't all that great. Such an adorable little store hidden in this shopping center. When I first walked in there were cute shabby chic home accents & a collection of ceramic owls sitting on the shelves. I love owls! They had a mint green, ceramic owl coin bank that they were selling for $18. I have the exact same one that I bought else where for only $10 =/ The prices were hit or miss. But for the most part, they were decent. Awesome clothing selection, pretty good accessories, & nice shoes. I found a wine colored faux leather cross body bag with gunmetal studs for $50. I'm so excited to put it to use. There was a tiny little mens section in the very back corner where all men's clothing were 50% off. I snagged a grey, bomber jacket for my BF for only $35!!! Store is located in a regional center type shopping center in Del Mar. The clothes are trendy, good for the 20-40 crowd (I say 40 because I'll probably still shop here at age 40, no shame). 8 out of 10 times I can find something cute in this boutique.. It's boho pieces mixed in with work attire and even some comfy clothes gives you the opportunity to find something in here! The quality is 1-2 seasons and then give-away, but those pieces reinvent your wardrobe season to season and the price is right for this purpose. Clothes are really pretty and a lot like Anthropologie, but with a lower price tag. They don't have all sizes for each item though, so you risk falling in love with an item only to not be able to get it in your size. Heather was the one who helped me out and she was super nice.
