This is a bad location for a Ross. No dedicated parking. If you do decide to come down here, you…read morewill most likely have to pay for parking somewhere or park at a meter but their hard to get especially if you come down on a weekend or during a padre's game. You're better off grabbing a Lyft/uber or taking the trolley and then walking the difference. This store has some good stuff but not worth me going out of my way to go to downtown. The staff is okay. As always, every Ross only cares about getting you in and out. Not manners or how to be polite. Pay and leave. God forbid their timer is over how quickly they need to get you in and out that the person at the counter doesn't even have time to grab their stuff and leave before you call the next person in the line. I just always think that's rood and pushy behavior. But I've learned that's how Every Ross operates.

It was bothering me so much that I decided to go downtown to get some new pants. The walk from Gaslamp to this location was not too bad. Some parts felt a little sus but it was broad daylight so it wasn't too bad. I found some longer gym shorts and it was only $8. The attendant was kind enough to let me come back to the dressing room to immediately change into the new pants I got! Security seems tight in the front. It seems like you must get eyeballed by security and you need to show your receipt on the way out. I told them that I'm wearing the pants I just bought and they were totally fine. This Ross was not the best in terms of shopping experience because I felt the store was a bit claustrophobic, but due to my unique experience of needing new pants immediately the staff was very nice about the whole thing!

This is definitely the party district of San Diego!!…read more Day or night, this area is rather lively. Lots of different shops, bars, clubs, and restaurants here. I was here during Halloween and it was packed with people that night. The best place to park here, to me, is in the large parking garage next to Petco Park. The whole area is best seen on foot anyhow. There are also some nice hotels here to choose from. The Convention Center and the Trolley are also here, and the Embarcadero is just a short walk away!! Had a very good time here!!

It is an area where the tour buses (hop on, hop off) stop, and horse driven taxis are prevalent. The quarter is very eclectic and fun to walk around. There is a wide variety of restaurants with many different kinds of cuisines. It is fun to look at the modern hotels and the historic buildings. The closer you get to the water, the cleaner the streets and much fewer homeless. As you get farther from the water, the number of homeless go up. Parking is tight, as is true throughout SD, so it is best to find a lot or a space, park, and just walk. Or just walk from your hotel. SD is a very walkable city and the Gaslight quarter is no exception.

Looking for souvenirs and specialty shops? Seaport! Parking is also very affordable and available. I always park here whether I'm visiting a hotel, the park, or Seaport itself. It's a perfect spot for taking a breather and simply enjoying the day! My family and I took a family member who was visiting us for the day. We grabbed some ice cream at Ben & Jerry's, coffee at Spill the Beans, and took a ride on the San Diego seal (a hydro-terra) ride. Seaport Village is a central point in downtown SD. It's not just a tourist attraction, it's so much more. The heart of the marina in SD!

It's a great spot to wander, people-watch, or just enjoy the ocean views. Food options range from waterfront restaurants to casual spots and quick bites. There's also a small pier area where fresh fish is cut on-site for locals--halibut, white seabass, yellowtail, rockfish and mahi-mahi which is sometimes referred to as dolphin or dolphin fish. The fish market is only open on Saturdays. There are benches and some grassy areas that are dog-friendly, there were many dog walkers during our visit. That said, it does come with trade-offs: * It can get very crowded * Food quality is hit or miss * Paid parking is tight and finding a space on the weekends can be difficult Bottom line: A worthwhile stop for the setting and atmosphere--just go in with the right expectations.
