I just had my second surgical treatment at Dr. Froum's office, and just as with my first surgery, I am comfortably recovering the day after, and felt inspired to add to these reviews. I am an extremely anxious and fearful patient, and the sense of peace, reassurance, and caring I experienced from the moment I walked in (following the sudden, spontaneous loss of a tooth), made me feel at ease as never before in any other dental office. Dr. Froum and Ms. Oretha, one of his dental assistants were so sensitive to my fears and made me believe that I could and would be helped. Procedures and outcomes were fully explained with compassion, a dose of humor, and with an openness to all my questions and concerns. When Dr. Froum spoke of a plan, I was relieved to know there WAS an option for a plan, not merely the drastic, traumatic measure suggested by a prior "professional" opinion that led me to his office. Observation appointments to explain it all preceded a surgery that could not have been more expertly done and successful in all its phases. Four months later, major steps in my treatment have been completed, I have a plan for maintenance and guidance, and a real goal for a beautiful, healthy mouth. Dr. Rodriguez, Dr. Froum's associate did this second round of surgery, an extensive and difficult procedure, but I was awake (never imagined that could happen), and felt very much a part of my treatment. Any signal of pain was addressed immediately, and the Dr. and her assistant constantly reassured me of how well I was doing. The excellent pre- and post-op procedures Dr. Froum and his staff provide his patients with is one of the reasons, I feel, for the success of their work. Except for very slight swelling tenderness and almost unnoticeable swelling near my jaw, I feel strong, confident, and am actually looking forward to the next phase of my treatment. I am thankful also for the excellent office staff, who greet me warmly, provide all the information I need for carrying out my treatment, and who provide timely reminders of appointments, etc. I wish everyone could experience this level of care, and that the level of professional communication and caring they provide would be standard, or rather requisite of all dental professionals. I have been a patient of Dr Froum for 40 years. During that time he has performed numerous dental implants, bone transplants, as well as, other periodontal procedures. I first visited Dr. Froum 10 years ago for a dental implant. I did some research and was impressed by his resume. It was the right choice. Over the years, I have had other procedures (including a gum transplant) and regular cleanings at the office. Dr. Froum is personable, professional and draws on a wealth of experience to counsel you on all procedures. I went to the office of Dr. Stuart Froum, a well known periodontist in Manhattan for a consultation and treatment for a bad pain in a bottom back tooth. The tooth had to be removed. I was very nervous and scared. Dr. Stuart Froum calmed me down and removed the tooth, without any pain or trouble. I didn't even need pain pills and went back to work the same day. He was so gentle that i didn't even know when the tooth was out. He was not part of my insurance plan, but i'm happy. It as money well spent.
