They…read moregive you a cost estimate and are transparent about the additional charge to use a credit card. Now for the rest of the story: The fact that the oral surgeon was able to get an IV in my arm that most people can't speaks volumes to his skill. I didn't have any pain after my extraction and didn't take any meds, though it was a relatively "simple" extraction as far as extractions go. The hardest part post‑op was limiting myself to soft foods for a week! I've only been to the office twice -- the consult and the actual procedure. The consult didn't leave me with the best first impression. My anxiety was through the roof and, other than the fantastic lady at the front desk, the visit didn't do much to calm it. I also later found out I could have filled out the paperwork online beforehand; I didn't bring my glasses and really struggled to read the forms in the office. For some people, including myself, the dental environment is inherently anxiety‑provoking. The power imbalance, the lack of control, the vulnerability... None of that is easily eased when you're lying on an uncomfortable dental chair in a cold, quiet room with only your thoughts (and an IV sedation handout) for company. I would have appreciated being clearly presented with all sedation options instead of IV being assumed. Anxiety aside, all went well. I also appreciated the fun bandaid and the thoughtful take‑home bag.

I have depended on Dr. Berner for dental care for more than twenty years. He has taken care of…read moredental issues for me, my husband, our son, and my parents. I have peace of mind knowing he will help us with any issues that arise. I have implants, lots of them, and they are beautiful and feel just like my own teeth. In fact, they feel better than my own teeth! He has a way of making them look absolutely natural. And I can eat anything! What I most appreciate is that Dr. Berner made several temporary fixtures to help me through the period of time that my mouth was healing and the new teeth were being made. In my case, my most recent implant fixture was made to replace my two front teeth. It was very traumatic for me to look in the mirror. Dr. Berner immediately made a temporary fixture and I was able to look in the mirror without being emotionally devastated. It's a dignity thing. And Dr. Berner gets it! I have had my new teeth for four months now and they are wonderful! Thanks to Dr. Berner and his staff, "I am ready for my closeup, Mr. De Mille........"

For me, it is a testament of his patience, eye and apreciation for beauty, steady hands, and attention to detail. His staff actually take the time explain everything that's going on, how it may've happened, treatment options with their pros and cons, and their professional opinion. They told me things my other dentists have never informed me of and used a laser to test my wisdom teeth for more accurate readings than an x-ray. The cleaning was so gentle and thorough! They use technique, not force. Consultation was awesome and no extra, unnecessary things were done. I was in charge of which option I liked best. Dr. Berner has been in for 28 years and really knows his stuff! Although he's not a provider in my network and I have to pay a little out of pocket, it was well worth it! The reviews on him are true. I have 3 more appointments with him and I feel calm about going.

I don't know if it's still true, but at the time, he was the only dentist that accepted tricare prime(the military dental insurance) which i was insured under through my dad, being a retiree.

He explained a simple concept like it was way over my head, condescending. When he was telling me to open, bite etc he spoke like he was commanding a dog. The office itself is crappy. Just look at how poorly done the logo for the business is, looks like it was done in two minutes in Microsoft paint. The same level of care (none) is put into his patients. Teeth cleaning I got was halfassed and rushed. It's not worth it to go to this "dentist" and have a lifetime of pain from routine dental work. PLEASE don't go to Cheshire family dental.
