Neighborhood and traveler serving clean convenience store along the US 281 in Blanco has what you need for what ails you. One of our party drank river water while tubing so this was where we found some Pepto Bismol and ginger ale for the long trip back to Dallas. 5 They got what ya need stars

Probably one of the nicer spots to stop while driving on the 281 corridor. This Stripes is located on the outskirts of Blanco, Texas. Every visit I've dropped in I've experienced clean restrooms and a friendly staff. Plenty of parking too. If you scroll thru the Yelp pics you'll see 24 Miatas lined up on the south side of the store. Food options are also plentiful. Noting that most of the fair is golden brown, they do have some taco options as well complete with rice and beans. Even one of fancy do it yourself milk shake doodads. And, if you can't find anything in the store there's a Chicken Express in the same building for more golden goodness and more gravy! Personally, my first choice convenience store food stop would the Spring Branch Store a few miles south for a gyro equal to no other (on this road LOL). If I was wanting a sit down meal I'd pick the nearby Chess Club for breakfast and lunch. Second choice would be Richter's Antler Cafe closer to the Bulverde area. Just a few miles off the road and they have a grilled shrimp platter as big as Texas!

Most Stripes Convenience Stores are large, well stocked oases on your road trip. From gasoline, to hot foods, drinks, and of course, bathrooms, one should not anticipate another being up the road but instead, pull in and stock up. This place is pretty big and has all of the aforementioned. They even have one of the make-your-own milkshake machines using the frozen cups from the fridge. The bathrooms were clean but not Buc-ees clean but still clean enough to deuce deposits. Anyway, it's a good convenience store that should be able to sort you out.

Sunday, 5-31-2026: I had seen & heard about this place from family and on TV. This place is huge!…read more They should at least have a couple of Buc-ee's in every state. What a crazy, unexpected concept! They have everything here. It was definitely sensory overload for me. It was crowded with locals & tourists. It's very organized and clean. The restroom was impressively clean. We mostly bought snacks. Love the warm candied nuts like pecans. We left without exploring the entire store due to the crowded conditions. We were checked out quickly by a friendly cashier. Definitely will return.

As much as I love Buc-ee's, I had a really disappointing experience today…read more I usually buy bakery items, snacks, and fuel, but this time my child grabbed a chicken and fries basket with ranch and ketchup. Since I was already carrying several things, I set the ranch cups and ketchup packets on top of my closed purse while heading to checkout. At the register, I handed over the food basket, ranch cups, pastries, nuts, and everything else. We spent about $75 on snacks and another $60 on fuel. Then the cashier asked, "Ma'am, are you trying to steal ketchup?" I was completely caught off guard. I have never stolen anything in my life and honestly didn't even know ketchup packets were something that had to be paid for. When she asked how many I had, I told her 3 or 4, and I immediately paid for them. There was never any argument or hesitation. It was simply an honest mistake. What made the situation upsetting was how embarrassing it felt to be accused in front of other customers. Maybe there was a sign posted near the hot food section, but I didn't pick up the food myself and never saw it. I just wish there had been a little more understanding, especially considering we had already spent well over $100 in the store. A simple explanation that the sauces were an extra charge would have gone a lot further than making me feel like I was trying to steal. I still love Buc-ee's, but I left feeling embarrassed and disappointed.
