This post pertains to the Shrewsbury Store:…read more Visited the store with the intention to purchase a pair of timberland boots for my son. The two young men working on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 were entirely disengaged and on their mobile phones. When my son asked to try a pair of boots on, the sales person suggested that he check the size of the shoes he currently has on rather than measure him. They measured his foot on my suggestion. They then hand him one boot to try on and continues to text on their phones and play with the volume of the music. Neither young man knelt down check the width of the shoe or gauge where his toe was. When my son spoke up and said that the shoe was to large, the sales person only said, " yes Timberland runs big" without a motion or suggestion to offer another size. It was quite possibly the worst shoe experience I have ever had! It's a shame that a new store with apparently quality merchandise employed these two young men. They were clearly more into their phone, music and overall appearance than they were in actually doing their job, servicing the customer and selling the $150 pair of Timberland boots. for my own son, growing up in the age of technology to notice how disengaged these two young men were was the best teachable moment that I could very asked for. This store should without question rethink their hiring practices. Ultimately we walked out of the store, as they snickered. I made sure though to tell my son that in a retail business every sales matters!

But if you have the misfortune of coming in when one particular woman is working then you're better off walking an extra couple of minutes to the main Sephora store in the mall. This lady will go out of her way to make you feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Yesterday, I came in for a return and unfortunately she was there. No avoiding her this time. She had to end her personal phone call to help me so perhaps that was already a strike against me. As expected, she made the simple refund process difficult. I did not have the receipt for the item which isn't an issue since it takes 5 seconds to pull up your beauty insider account to verify the purchase. She made me swipe various credit cards to see if she could find the item. Nothing. She then entered in my beauty insider number. Nothing. She plugged in my phone number. Nothing again. Confused I mentioned that perhaps because I had purchased two of the same item in different colors that day that maybe the associate scanned the other item twice. She pretended to not see or understand what I was saying until finally, after about 10 minutes of trying different things, I pulled out my phone to pull up my insider beauty account myself. As soon as I did this, she agreed to just refund me as if it were a courtesy. I found the item on my e-receipt in two seconds and told her it was there. She pretended to only just notice it too. Had I not pulled up my beauty insider account myself , she would have dragged this on continuing to suggest it was never purchased or was purchased over 30 days ago or just deny the refund. This is typical petty behavior of hers. She makes every visit to the store painful.
