It was a huge hassle and a bad experience. I lament having to send the bed back, and it was unfortunate for the designer as well, now stuck with a damaged bed. I do appreciate that you reached out, and suspect I would indeed, get the A-team, if I used your services again. But, it was basic negligence, and lack of skill or professionalism on your employees part. I manage a furniture store with six other locations across the US. During our store set up we used EIS to deliver and assemble a massive furniture order. They were on time, worked quickly, and everyone seemed excessively competent and positive. There were a few pieces that shipped with the wrong hardware or where there was another challenge and they were brilliant at coming up with solutions to get everything assembled despite those hiccups (which were not their fault). My operations manager who oversees shipping for our entire company says this team is the best out of any of our store markets, which says a lot as we are lucky to have some great installation teams in other cities. I paid for delivery for a sectional from a local company and they utilized EIS for delivery. They arrived on time...after that not much else went smoothly. I work in healthcare and didn't have the luxury to be home, so my roommate helped them in. They told him that the couch wouldn't fit up the stairs as planned, then tried hoisting the couch up through the balcony door (without taking measurements...I could have told them it wouldn't fit before wasting their time with that). They left with my couch and I called asking them to at least return and leave the sectional piece that wouldn't fit in the garage and to deliver the remainder up the stairs as planned (the service I paid for included installation and garbage removal). They initially agreed, but then upon arrival decided that "they had already wasted enough time" at my house and wouldn't be able to bring the pieces upstairs. My partner and I argued with them, taking longer than it would have taken to just bring the pieces upstairs. They were very rude to both is us and ultimately refused, leaving it up to my partner to do the work. Low and behold, we decided to try to get the sectional up the stairs ourselves, and in under 10 minutes and just some minor maneuvering, we made it fit without any issue. I don't know what they tried to do but they obviously didn't try very hard. Only once I updated them that we were able to get the sectional into the house as originally planned were they apologetic about the situation. I wish I didn't have to give a poor rating. Under normal circumstances there's a good chance I would have had a positive experience with them, however once some issues arose, all courtesy was tossed out the window. It still leaves me in disbelief how rude and unprofessional they were to us in the moment. I do appreciate the apology I received from KC (one of the owners) after the fact, but wish that it would have come before realizing that they had made a mistake. read more

So just in case I thought my epic couch-buying saga was finally over, after almost a year and a half of dithering, browsing, and finally purchasing one... it wasn't. In fact, now that I had picked a couch at last, it was time for the least fun part: getting it from the store to my living room. My choices were either to rent a moving truck and dragoon any friend who wasn't already burned out by helping me move earlier this month, OR cough up $85 for furniture delivery guys. You have to understand, I'm a huge cheapskate, so the thought of paying almost a hundred bucks (including tip) for an intangible service makes me want to die. But there was no way around it, especially since I was going to be out of town over the weekend, and the movers would hold my delivery for up to 7 days. The store recommended Express Installation, so what the heck. Because of my oddball situation, the store was going to hold onto my couch for 7 days, and then transfer it to the movers, who would hold it until the following weekend to deliver. This all went fine, I guess, because I never heard anything about it. Express Installation was supposed to call me the day before delivery to tell me the 2-hour window where I needed to be home, but when they hadn't called by noon, I called them myself. However, when I did call, they pulled up my order right away, knew my delivery address, and gave me the delivery window (10 am - 12 pm). I got up early this morning, having a hunch that they'd be here sooner rather than later, and sure enough, at 10:01 - RING RING! Here they were, with my couch. They came in, took a look at the hallway and stairs, then brought in the couch quickly and set it up. By 10:04, the couch was in place, I kid you not. They only take checks and cash, so I gave them my check, signed for delivery, and they were outta here. Oh, and as a nice bonus, they were not the burly, grease-stained, crack-displaying dudes I had anticipated, but two super-cute young guys. ;) It still makes me cringe a little bit to have paid $85 for furniture delivery, but honestly, it was probably worth it in terms of convenience, storage, and not having to run all over town getting all sweaty and irritable trying to move a couch myself. Even Scrooges like me should be pretty satisfied with Express Installation. read more

Justin and his crew are freaking awesome. They deliver for Ligne Roset, Pedini, and Bianca in addition to doing regular household moves. They are always professional, courteous, expeditious, and their pricing is very reasonable. I will always go back to them for any of my moving needs. read more

I bought five pieces from Area 51, who use Express as their delivery company. They called me the day before to confirm the time slot and actually showed up 5 minutes early. They even automatically took off their shoes in the hallway before stepping foot into my apartment (even though it wasn't necessary). The guys were super nice and friendly and their superior service would definitely figure into future purchases from Area 51 and other clients of theirs (primarily the ones on Western Avenue). read more

I am a Commercial and Residential Interior Designer and have worked in the field for over 30years. I have used many receiving companies in the past but NONE are as great as this company. My last project was very challanging in that several pieces of furniture arrived damaged plus the client I was working with was difficult at best! Justin and KC went out of their way to accomodate the problems as they can up. This company is very well run. They were always on time, did a maticulous job of inspecting and noting freight damage and were very careful with the actual installation of all the items. Absolutely professional, courteous, punctual and honest. They quoted a price and stuck to it, they came though on the day promised with no delays and when they gave a delivery time they were there on the early end and gave a call letting me know within a 15 minute time table when they would be there so I didn't spend my day waiting for the delivery. The movers were very cautious of my belongings and took extra care to make sure my existing furniture was safe and protected. As an Interior Designer that used their services, I feel I must warn others to protect them from the horrible experience that my client and I had. This was the least professional installation service I have ever used. I had very high end pieces of furniture delivered for an install and several pieces came damaged. The pieces were opened and photographed, but the damage was never reported. Had they been reported within the standard 7 day window, my client would have new pieces of furniture shipped from the manufacturer without any issues. Since weeks have passed, I am now in a really tough position. They offered me a "price per pound" which covered not even a fraction of the cost to replace the items. Not only did they accept no responsibility as a professional business, they hid behind their bogus insurance policy which is basically a CYA term of completely relinquishing them of their basic responsibilities as receivers. My client paid nearly $2,500 for their services. In the end, we were given back $250 for $5-7,000 of damaged furniture which I am now responsible for. A huge disappointment. Please beware. read more

Our store, Homesite Furniture, works with Express for most of our delivery jobs. They always try to received the pieces a day in advance so they can get them to the owners on time and they are always on time. Never late. Nice guys too. The owner, Justin Tong, is always eager to answer questions and to work with customers to find a good time for delivery. We used to use a different delivery service that was cheaper but they were always late. Express has affordable prices and doesn't charge crazy amounts for add-ons. Great company! read more

I was desperate for a moving company to help me during the holidays. Express Installation was the first to get back to me with available times so I decided to spend a little extra (their quotes were about 25% more than other companies I had heard from), just to have something lined up. I was given a two hour window for when they might show up and the guys arrived ten minutes into it, which was nice. We had already moved a lot of boxes and smaller items, leaving the heavy lifting for EIS. I was quite pleased with how quickly they assessed my furniture, what would go first and they even wrapped up my sofa in plastic wrap, which was a nice touch since it was being put into storage anyway. They managed to maneuver my sofa into a tight basement doorway with no problems so I'll probably be calling them to come back when I have to move it again in a year or so. I love these guys! Professional, friendly, smart and well-priced. You get great service for your buck. I work at a furniture showroom here in Seattle, Inform Interiors, and we have used them for the entire duration I have been at the shop, over 5 years. And throughout, they have been stellar. They take amazing care of the product when moving it and treat all our clients with great respect and kindness. In the 2 times that I have moved apartments, I have used them and would never again think to, a. do it myself or, b. convince my friends that beer and pizza is worth dragging my stuff from apartment to truck to new apartment. I trust them completely with pieces from the furniture showroom as well as my own personal items. One of the things I love is that they give you a two hour time window - what place does that? Usually its a 14 hour time window that most companies seem to still miss! And not only is it a two hour window, they are on time!
