00000 stars!! Well you lost this family of 3...! Cancelled- hope you all get treated the way you…read moretreated us and your other members, like crap. I'm honestly pretty upset with how Lifetime as a brand has changed. Customer service? Gone. The feeling of inclusivity? Gone. It's like they no longer care about their members. I get that they're saving some money by not being open 24/7, but it's still a huge letdown. We've tried the Canton location multiple times, but there's always something broken or out of order. So we went to the Troy location, only to find that our family membership doesn't work here--only Novi and Canton. After upgrading, my son, who loves basketball, was disappointed to see that half the courts are now taken over by pickleball. Now they're even getting rid of basketball courts altogether. When I asked, I was told that "basketball doesn't make us money." Isn't that why we're paying $275 a month for a family membership? Today, after upgrading, we got kicked off the basketball court within an hour because of some family event. Apparently, they have arts and crafts tables in the gym on Saturdays. We were told we could come back after 8pm, but why did we drive 55 minutes from Ann Arbor for that? There's other space they could've used, but I'm guessing that's being rented out for more money, while the members are pushed aside for things like pickleball. Honestly, the Las Vegas locations are great, but the Michigan ones are a mess. I've been harassed since day one at Canton. It's frustrating because, just like 24-Hour Fitness, Lifetime is drifting away from what made it great--caring about the members. Eventually, I think they'll learn, especially when they start closing down locations, just like 24-Hour did. I just hope they realize that the people--the members--are what keeps their revenue flowing. Plus spend some money on this club first, everything is old and falling apart..... Maybe one day, pickleball will fade out like racquetball did. But until then, here's an idea: Troy could convert those racquetball courts into basketball courts. That would actually make sense!

Overall, we were really impressed with everything, especially the classes that they offered and the amenities that you can include in your monthly membership. Not a good option for families with younger kids but this is the place for anyone interested in an upscale fitness club with lots of amenities!

While there are aspects I genuinely enjoy, there are several ongoing issues that have left me…read morefeeling disappointed. First, the cancellation policy feels excessive. Being charged for canceling a class last-minute, on top of an already high monthly membership fee, is frustrating. I understand that many boutique studios with class-only models have strict cancellation policies. However, this is a full gym membership, not just a class-based studio. Additionally, for long-standing members, there should be some flexibility -- such as a limited number of exception waivers for circumstances like illness or family emergencies. That would demonstrate consideration for loyal members. Cleanliness is another major concern. The showers consistently smell moldy, and there is often visible hair around the drains. It genuinely makes me question how frequently they are cleaned. The lockers are also frequently dirty, and the towel fringes are falling apart. At this price point, members should feel comfortable using the facilities. The women's bathroom soap dispensers are often empty or not functioning -- which is a basic expectation for any gym, let alone one at this cost. In terms of the gym experience itself, I will say that the classes are enjoyable and the instructors are kind, motivating, and professional. That is the primary reason I continue to attend. However, it would greatly improve the experience if reformer/Pilates classes were separated by skill level. For members who have attended multiple classes, it becomes repetitive to hear the same beginner-level breakdown each time of how to use the machine, etc. Offering stratified levels would better serve both beginners and more advanced participants, ensuring everyone's expectations are met. Parking is also an ongoing issue. There are frequent times when no spots are available, and members are forced to park next door. While I understand that occasional overflow can happen, it seems to occur more often than it should. This overcrowding appears to be exacerbated by the gym offering repeated five-day free trials to individuals who have already used one! Try finding a treadmill to use on a Saturday morning! While I understand the importance of growing the business, maintaining a quality experience for existing members should be prioritized -- especially when space and parking are already limited. Lastly, the café, while offering nutritious and high-protein options, feels overpriced for what it is. The recipes could also be improved for taste and overall value. I am not trying to be overly critical. I have been a member of several other gyms in the past, none of which cost this much. With a premium price point come higher expectations. I genuinely hope these concerns can be addressed, as I would like to continue enjoying the positive aspects of the gym without ongoing frustration.

Orangetheory has solved this issue for you. This is solved from their heart rate approach. You have two choices to begin from the rower or the treadmill. Talk to a coach about your goals and they will guide you accordingly. If you are super competitive this might be the place for you. You can earn splat points, try to stay in the red the longest of the group or compete with yourself in the app. I think this is an amazing place for all levels of fitness. They have really innovative ways to keep members engaged throughout with gifts, pajama days, workout hell week. The coach's are helpful. If they see you doing something incorrect they will assist. The music playlist is pretty good! It's loud so you will have to put your listening skills to use, if you can't sweat, run, row and listen. This might not be a place for you. Another cool feature they have a really awesome functional app. You can purchase merch, see your progress & schedule your next class! Also you can see what new contest or themed week is coming up and participate. Now weird encounter today. I've been here for a month. I've been to different orangetheory's, people let me record since I'm a blogger and I'm strategically only recording myself since I'm far off to the corner. It was two coaches today on the floor & the floor coach talked to me quite a lot and she seen my phone and didn't say a word... until after the class. ‍ I get it but like other places didn't say a word. I would also assume common courtesy of not recording random people while working out, that's just weird. But example I'm on the treadmill (it's pretty high) so the camera is only on me. Even if someone walks behind me you can't even see their head. I'm on the rower and you can on see me and the wall. I have over 50k of followers and I usually record my workouts at gyms since I go so many places. Definitely won be posting this one. So if you want to record this isn't the place Troy specifically! Which again is totally understandable, people usually don't bring their phone in the workout area,. They pride themselves on 60-90 minutes without your device, which I'm sure everyone could utilize. I would say go into the nearest location to see what promotions they have. If you don't see anything you can always use this code: 2DTUCC
