Fairly new to this location, and since there's only 1 other review despite this location being here…read morefor years I thought I'd give my initial impressions. Almost an immediate biased positive solely because it is a 24/7 gym. I only have time to go post peak hours so it is often very empty. Which is a bonus in my opinion lol. This gym is very small, with only doubles of a few weight machines, and only about 6 treadmills, and 3-6 of ellipticals. Stationary bikes. And a stair steper machine. This is zero issue due to the time in which I go, and I'm not going to say on whether or not there's too much wait time to use machines during peak hours or not. So I'm keeping that out of my review. The gym is very clean, with heavy emphasis on cleaning equipment after you are done using it. Which isn't super pushed on in traditional gyms. There's almost no piece of equipment that they don't have, with some exceptions to fairly uncommon machine such as a pendulum squat machine. I do not bench or deadlift. But there's not a crazy amount of plates available to add to the bars, so this probably isn't the gym for you if you are doing 600lb+ lifts. I suppose it's possible, but you'll be relying on using plates from various other machines that are likely going to be used if someone else is on said machine. From my short time going here so far, I have noticed 2 small things. That if it was a 1 day thing. There's zero problems with. Like it could easily have been a oversight upon closing. But while some people won't find this to be a big deal. One of the treadmills was considerably uneven with the others next to it. Talking a good 20 degrees from the side to side alignment. Obviously this was some either pushing on it accidentally or something. But the treadmill remained in that position for about a week. Which does beg to ask why someone using the treadmills just didn't fix it themself. But whatever lol. Feels like a fix the floor staff should have noticed within a day or so. 2nd is a piece of equipment had the added 0/5/10/15 weight knob on it fall off. Those making it a chore to figure out how much incremental weight is engaged. This took about a week to replace. And even then it wasnt on correctly. Tho likely a patron knocked it off again and just pushed it back in thus the issue. Other than that. This is a great gym, the main equipment brands are Life Fitness, Hammer Strength, and Free Motion which are all really good brands. There's a few Technogym pieces. Which isn't inherently bad equipment at all, they are the promoted towards rich people. Despite being a class down than the brands I listed above. But they are certainly not bad in practice. And since these are owned by the gym and not you as a gym goer, you'll never have to deal with Technogyms notoriously bad customer service lol. I'd give a 4.5 if I could. I would recommend this gym to probably 90% of people. Again, this isn't a gym for Ronnie Coleman level powerlifters.

Clean facility with plenty of options on machines, free weights and cardio. A free one hour…read moretraining session for all new members is great if you are new to working out. Staff is friendly and helpful. Not packed when I go after work which is nice. No locker rooms but you can change in the restrooms if you need to. I've tried a few other gyms in the area and this is my favorite.

ALL the YMCA's I've visited have some of the friendliest giving staff members of ANY health club I've visited! I have visited them ALL and as a former ACE Certified trainer, I've worked at ALL of them. The YMCA's commitment to helping families, and I thank them for treating my family great when I worked at Deltona and Orange City. The most important employee position in ANY club....is the front desk! The first point of contact, and the last point of contact exiting the club. When a staff member can call you by your first name... your day should be made! So to all the "Negative Nancy's" "Pauley Pout Pouts" Killing this amazing organization with horrible reviews and photos, that has endured the last economic crash while STILL giving out scholarships for sports and programs they offer for a VERY fair fee... Do take your snootyness up the road to LA, where you're just another account. Why don't I see more reviews on the amazing upgrades in equipment and services? Just human nature to focus on the negative!

This YMCA could use some improvement 1. The facility is…read morefalling apart and it should be needing an update. Because the Ormond YMCA facility got updated about 2 years ago and it's been looking better then ever but the port orange YMCA has not ever got an update. 2. Ive been swimming at the port orange YMCA for a couple years now and I am a swimmer and the Port Orange YMCA NEEDS TO GET NEW BLOCKS they are low budget and some are wobbly and have no fin or back piece on the back of the block. 3 The whole building just needs a whole power washing job it looks very dirty. 4. The boys locker room needs a new upgrade the ceiling is literally coming down and the floors are torn up. Also the stalls in there need some work and could use more of them. 5. The tiles in the bathroom also need improvement. 6. The outside deck of the whole outside of the pool needs to be updated because they are also falling apart 7. But overall the people there are nice but just some things need to be updated so it could contend with the Ormond Beach YMCA
