I'm an 'older' massage therapist (okay 63) and up to now have been able to take advantage of good family genes and not really exercise or stretch regularly. My physical shape has not affected the work I do for my clients. That is until I hit my 60's. Yikes, gravity is not my friend and muscle tone has left me for younger bodies.
Decided to try this to jump start my exercise routine. I am so glad I did. My therapist, Brianna, is also a PT Assistant and her education and knowledge gave me confidence in knowing she could help me get my groove back. My first session was 50 minutes - short question/answer session and on to stretching. As a massage therapist, I am aware of stretching and its benefits, but assisted stretching is another matter. Much of what we did was resistance/PNF stretching - sometimes difficult to do on your own.
Brianna is friendly, knowledgable and we talked a bit about us both being new to Meridian (she from AZ and me from CA). When you get someone who is passionate about what they do, it really comes across. I felt safe during the entire session. I liked her work so much, decided to sign up for membership.
This location is new and there were only two other clients there at the time. The tables and equipment are very clean and spread apart. 3 months is the shortest membership available and at $249 a month, it is a bit more than I expected. BUT, because I made a decision to invest in my health I think it is worth it. I felt relaxed, lighter and in a great state of mind at the end of my first session. My hips and pecs were like stone - so really looking forward to feeling better. I will be getting sessions once a week for 3 months while I work on my resistance training. I'll decide at the end of 2 months if I want to continue membership. Note: you need to give 31 days notice if you want to cancel.
They have 3 labs in the area, Meridian, Eagle and downtown Boise. Your membership is good at all locations. The least you can do is go in and try one session. At the end, membership options are explained fully and there's no pressure. At least, I didn't get pressured. read more
