Shout out to Keith! I came running into the cycling room about two minutes prior to class looking…read morelike a mad woman! First off, know that if you park in the parking garage, come straight out the garage and go towards the office building across from the hotel! On my own accord, I circled the entire building before realizing where the door was! Upon entering PIVOT, I went straight to the cycling room and was able to be assisted by Keith since I had issues getting myself signed up online. Tip: be sure you know which location you are signing up for! As for class, I was able to catch a strength class. Stages indoor bikes are used, which was a plus for me. The workout is based off the training regimen for Olympic cyclist Kristin Armstrong. Although I am used to an indoor cycling class that has choreography and varies between hills and flat roads, I thoroughly enjoyed Keith's class!

Decided to try KA's spot out today after a pandemic fitness induced hiatus…read more I knew I would not be disappointed. In fact, my tour of the facility was with Kristin herself, a great intro to the gym. The facility is state of the art. 3 group rooms for classes, spinning & yoga and additionally a larger weight/cardio area. Everything was clean, well laid out with adequate space. Masking requirements in and out of the facility, with easy to maintain physical distance. Free WiFi, 24-7 access with a key fab to the building. The only deterrent, parking. There's a garage with the 1st hour free ($3/hour after) and street parking on 13th. But it's such a great gym I'm going to figure out the parking situation. Another location near Harris Ranch off of Parkcenter is slated to open this winter sometime. Definitely top notch gym. All amenities, great staff, and quality programming.

Me and my three girlfriends were staying at the hotel for the weekend coming from out of state, and…read morewe chose the hotel partly because of the attached spa. It was difficult to schedule four services at the same time, but they were able to accommodate a facial and massage at the same time, and then two more massages right after. We thought our services were fine; my girlfriend had a prenatal massage and said her therapist talked the whole time which she thought was distracting, but I had the same therapist right after and we didn't chat at all. I know therapists usually go off the energy of the client that they're working with, so I think she was probably being polite and the therapist might have considered it being open for more conversation. Anyway, like I said, we did enjoy our services. We were hoping for a group discount, but instead they treated us each to a glass of wine, which we appreciated. We didn't use any of the gym or pool facilities, nor the locker room. The gym equipment seemed fine. There were quite a few people in the gym. We didn't see anyone using the pool, but there were people using the hot tub, sauna, and steam room. I would say that clientele leans more male, and the pool/hot tub/sauna/steam room are co-ed, so take that into consideration if you visit.

I wanted to an update after another 6 months of membership. I've been a member here off and on for…read moreyears. A few general comments: - The smaller size and location of the gym are positives in my view. If you need to drive and park, though, it's rough. They have parking through the hotel, but it's time limited and the garage gets full and unusable if there are lots of hotel guests or events. - The locker rooms are tiny, barely kept up (broken hooks, and doors, towels strewn about), showers are sort of just a mess (it's one big open space mostly). Also, on the mens restroom, the urinal continues to almost flood daily as it's been kind of clogged forever. You can use it, but don't flush it.. - Cardio machines are ok -- getting on the older side but work well usually Some frustrations continue to include: - They lease out the pool to external swim lessons, so there are large swaths of the day where the pool is basically unusable and kids are running around, screaming, parents are everywhere -- it's a mes - It's also the hotel pool and gym, so between that, swim lessons and normal members, it's a dirty pool if we are being honest. I used to swim here, but I've run into so many gross hairs and "things" underwater that I just can't do it anymore. - It feels like ownership has gotten a little excited post pandemic and membership growth has REALLY taken off the last few months. It's really noticeable and at peak times (4pm-7pm) it's almost impossible to get a weight workout in without massive frustrations. There's simply no space. There's one single real squat rack (the other is a smith machine type thing), a couple benches, one normal bench press ... you'll end up nearly bumping into people just trying to pick up dumbbells. - There also seem to be some third party kettle bell trainers running private training in the gym, which further takes up space and seems to always ALSO be at peak times. - During peak times -- FORGET about trying to even get changed in the locker room. It becomes like trying to change in an aircraft lavatory. - I don't know if they plan to cap memberships, but I worry they won't (like all gyms, they just love the money coming in) ... and it's now teetering on not being a usable gym option just because it's so uniquely small in terms of Sq/Ft. It just doesn't handle the extra people well. - For now I continue to go and mostly enjoy it but only because I have schedule flexibility. If I were forced to only go at after work times, it'd be a tough sell honestly. 4/5 for now -- but it's getting too crowded really quickly

That being said (haha claim to fame lol) anyway, that being said, last year I attempted to get a job at Kvell but alas, I did not get it lol. It would be a cool place to work at..especially since now I've been to one and have seen what they're like. I used to work out at IFF. For 6 years I had a membership there. It was my home away from home..literally. I lived there. This past year I was teaching a Pound class there. Dec 19th 2022, IFF fired all of us instructors by..TEXT MESSAGE! Right before Christmas. They're so amazing, aren't they? It broke my heart for several reasons. They didn't even offer to grandfather us after letting us go. They fired us and canceled all our memberships. Then losing the instructor job was heartbreaking too. Took a lot for me to get comfortable in front of the class. I finally was and then...bam! Gone! Ok that's my sad IFF story. I'll tell it any chance I get. My friend Deena, I did my Pound Fit training with. Kvell offered her a spot at their downtown location. I hope it goes beyond February because it means a lot to the people who rely just on classes as their workout. Kvell was kind enough to give Deena a shot so for that, in my eyes, these people will always be top notch. Other gym said no, Kvell said yes. Says a lot about them. The downtown location I had always wanted to see. I've rode my bike past there a million times, walked past there so many times, and now finally got to check out the facility because of course I have gone to support Deena. The layout upstairs is wide open, clean as hell, they have great equipment and their floors are exactly what a Pound class needs lol. I have yet to venture downstairs. So can I actually say I've checked out the facility? Of course! What I've seen, I loved. Every time I've wanted to check out downstairs, there's been a class or people down there doing their thing so I just didn't wanna be some rando walking in on a class lol. I'll be back for next weeks Pound class tho. So maybe I'll check it out down there if I can :) I love that they have separate dressing rooms aside from the bathroom. You don't ever see that in gyms. This is more of a specialized gym. It's not like IFF, Planet Fitness and others. It's still worth checking out tho. I'd never not tell someone to go here. I'll always say hell yeah if they ask about it. I didn't interact with staff. So I can't offer up any review on them. Most gyms tho have amazing staffs. They want to encourage, not discourage people from working out. Definitely check it out. It's a a great spot. Check their website for class schedules and prices. Thanks, YelpKvellers!! Enjoy your workout! Cheers!

After a fairly active and fit young adulthood including college era athletics, I had been in a long decline and decided to do something about it. I had been a massage client of his for a couple of years, and he often talked about his ideas about fitness training during sessions. I have been a computer geek since the early 80s, and there was something I recognized in the way he talked about anatomy, diet and training. He really nerded out on it. I'd never worked with a personal trainer before, but if I was going to start I wanted it to be someone like Scott who was smart, scientific minded and flat out obsessed with it. I was also attracted to his body-weight training approach. Being a weight lifting gym rat was never my thing, and I had always preferred body-weight style training. The fact that he did circus-type training as well was intriguing (handstands are no-joke crazy hard!). Anyhow. He's the real deal. Each session was always something different. He constantly was adapting the routines to fit my current needs (maybe I had a bit of an injury to work around, etc). We used Dexafit scans to track progress objectively. I honestly doubt there's any better trainer in the City.

I was only in town for a week and was able to contact them via the web site to make sure I could come in and buy a week membership. Quick note: they do not accept cash. I went at odd times since I was in town for meetings, and the place was often nearly deserted. There was staff around, but sometimes you had to look as they're busy doing things, not just sitting there waiting for you to show up. I did get greeted and shown around the different rooms. It is a strange layout, but once you find where everything is, it's completely fine. There are two main rooms for weights and machines, and you might have to go back and forth if you want to do things in a certain order, but a few extra steps isn't going to kill you, right? He was a trainer and seem to have a ton of toxic things to say to his clinic regarding my frustration with his arrogance and lack of respect. My pet peeve in gym culture, always welcome the guest, never make them feel like they're putting you out. I travel and I'm literally at new gym everyday and always try to show respect for each policy in place. This guy was everything I hate about "bro man" fitness. Bragging to his clinic, bad energy all around. I debated on confronting him on his attitude but the other gentlemen Shane(which may have been new) stepped in with patience and showed me the lay of the land. Took a few moments to help me get a good much needed workout. Struggling rehabbing a herniated side in neck and the gym was crucial to get blood flowing. Had it been up to tattoo cliche motivational quote on chest guy I wouldn't of been able to finish the check in. So thanks again Shane for making up for the rudeness of that trainer. I've trained also, I have been in gym culture for decades, that guys got a lot of humility coming his way if he wants to grow in that space. Anyways- never usually leave bad reviews but that guy needs to be called out. Great gym and location. Trainer guy....make eye contact with people trying to pay money to occupy your space for an hour. Never know what they're up against.
