I emailed Jenn and Justin and I finally got a refund only to find out they charged my credit card again for another session $70 which I did not notice until they just charged my credit card for another 8 week session for $520 when I still have 3 more sessions left. Now I have been directed to deal with their corporate billing department in Las Vegas so I finally made a dispute with Visa. Whatever you do - DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD! I've never trained in any discipline of martial arts, so I was pretty nervous. The atmosphere of the gym is nonjudgmental and very welcoming. The coaches have everyone's best interests at heart and do an amazing job at making sure you're learning in a good environment. I don't have any little ones, but I've heard from numerous people that their kids classes are just as top-notch as the adult ones. I repeatedly reached out by phone, email, and text, trying to get his remaining sessions scheduled. Appointments would be made and then canceled, over and over. Before anything was resolved, the Boise location shut down. We still have 13 prepaid sessions that have never been honored. Since then, I've emailed, called, and messaged the owner (Shaun Wardle), along with coaches and managers, anyone I had contact information for like Ryan, Booby, Keena, Hudson. I have received no response from anyone. I've also tried to transfer my son to the Nampa location so he could simply use the sessions we've already paid for, but I've had no success. This is the first negative review I've ever left because I don't like criticizing businesses, but this experience has been incredibly frustrating. The lack of communication, professionalism, and customer service has been unacceptable. Based on my experience, I would not recommend signing up with D1. I simply want the 13 sessions we paid for to be honored or refunded so we can move on.

Luckily, my friend's neighbor recommended Alliance in Eagle. He explained to me the high level instruction and had nothing but positive things to say. So I dropped in at their new location which was very impressive. Spoke with the owner (coral belt) Gigi, who was such a nice person and invited me to try out a class. Being 51 and a purple belt in a new school can be very intimidating. Plus I was coming back from a long layoff due to recovery from two work related surgeries.The students at Alliance were friendly, very respectful, and understanding of my circumstances. I could not ask for anything more. I highly recommend Alliance! The staff there are there to get you to the level of jujitsu you want to be.
