I will never forget the day I very reluctantly walked into Club Fitness with my daughter who wanted…read moreto join the club, but needed my signature. Unbeknownst to me that day changed my life for the better. Before I knew it I joined the gym and signed myself up with a trainer. That was over 2 years ago and never regretted a moment of it. The DFM trainers are the greatest, very personable, knowledgeable and always willing to help. Thank you Club Fitness, DFM, especially Al Carson, and I got to give a shout out to Josh Morgan.

Does anyone else think it's weird that there are 19 reviews within a span of one week? Hmm…read more. curious. Anyway.. find a trainer with experience. Keith and Cody have been mentioned in the reviews and are great trainers, as is Corey. Each trainer has their own unique style, so if you are interested in training but didn't feel like you had a good match, don't hesitate to ask another trainer for help. The gym and the training team are two separate companies, so while the gym is a great bargain.. don't expect that on the training prices. The training prices are pretty comparable for the area/industry, and it is worth it - if the trainer has the experience. It's not difficult to become a trainer, so there are plenty of flavor of the week trainers that it is not worth spending the money on. I've noticed a high turnover of gym staff and personal trainers, but a few of them have been around longer. The facility is nothing special - it's a neighborhood gym in a strip mall with cardio and strength training machines. Depending on who is managing the facility at the time, it can be clean or it can be a nightmare. There was a period of time when the bathrooms were unusable because of the lack of a cleaning staff, but that seems to have been remedied when I was last in there. They have the usual group excercise classes available, though your membership will cost more. Like most gyms, they are stupid busy during peak hours, and dead during non peak hours. Personally, I would recommend Gold's over Club Fitness. It's almost the same price, and the gym is much nicer (pool + basketball court + way bigger). Trainers should be judged on an individual basis - some are better than others, and that is true at any gym.

The trainers here are very knowledgeable and watch each rep of each machine to make sure you are getting the most of your session and remain injury free. I have been to trainers who seem to think fitness is one-size-fits-all, which turns out to be a one-way ticket to injury. When I first heard of it, I couldn't believe that 20-30 minutes was enough to improve my strength fitness, but after about three sessions, I was a believer.

I did speak directly with the studio manager about my concerns prior to this, but I did not feel that the situation was taken as seriously as it should have been. In my experience, there seems to be a lack of clear boundaries and accountability when it comes to interactions between members and staff. A fitness environment should feel supportive, respectful, and safe for everyone involved--both members and employees--and I no longer feel confident that those standards are being upheld. Because of that, I've decided to go to other studios. I hope the management takes a closer look at the culture they're fostering and works to improve it for the future.

My one complaint is the instructor didn't group us all together or show us what to do. I feel like I can stream a workout and get the same amount of direction but have an easier time figuring out what I'm supposed to be doing!

My initial impression was excellent. The entry area seems more spacious and inviting, and the selection of retail items (think: sticky socks) and wearables, is significantly enhanced. The class that I took was the right mix of challenging and accessible. The studio was kind enough to provide refreshments--coffee and some gluten free muffin bites--post class. Sydney, the PB instructor, has been very proactive about reaching out to follow up with me. I look forward to returning to this studio the next time I am in town.

I find CycleBar classes to be transcendent - something about the dark room, the rapid beat of my heart and the sweat pouring down - I can close my eyes and my mind goes somewhere else. Even when you give them notice of cancellation, you will still be charged - as their policy is never clearly stated before hand, which includes a 30 day in advance cancellation notice. In addition, you will have to come into the studio to complete a "membership cancellation form?!?!?" I mean WTF, I have never ever had to do this in my entire life! It's absurd, plus if you have any emergency and need to cancel a ride (even though you've already paid a month's membership) you're additionally charged yet another $15...seems so very desperate for money!!! This is such a slimy way to do business, as you MUST always give clients this type of information during the initial membership sign up process + an in-hand copy of said contract. They intentionally fail to do so, because they're well aware that anyone in their right mind would NOT sign up for this. Again PLEASE BEWARE!!!!!

One of the women that works in there never seems to be friendly at all. In fact, on my daughters first visit the woman came out and yelled at my wife and son because they were in the gym watching my daughter for a second. The woman yelled at her and said "there are signs up all over the place". It is for safety... I get it... But it wasn't a good way for us to start our business there. I almost took the kids to gym headquarters instead. I don't want to take my kids somewhere where they might be yelled at for an accident. Other than that I am really happy with the place.
